I have this same hatchet and it's great. Hand forged hatchet that's great quality for $60 is unbeatable. It's a great little crafting hatchet. You also made a video downing the Husqvarna hatchet which I also have and it to is also great and many other people would agree. That small gap on that small of a hatchet is nothing, that head will never come loose. The handle is ten inches, you couldn't make that head come loose if you tried. My hatchet is the same as yours, they're made that way. Even the Gransfors axes have a small gap in the bottom. Btw Gransfors Bruk sheaths are the worst, the placement of their rivets damage the edge of the axe.

Is A Budget ! Style hand hatchet. And it's not some expensive swedish style ax. For what it is, you're being too critical. I get what you're saying. But you have to take things into consideration.

Council Tool is the best ax/hatchet maker. They are the only company that use specialty steel (Velvicut line). They are half the price of their competition. And US made.

How do you review something you've never used?
    Then compare a $60 tool to a $200+

I think your hatchet was poorly done. I have the same hatchet with no filler. Mine is tight. However I agree with you on those sharp corners

I used to have one of those gransfors bruk hatchet (forgot which one,) then I switch to council tool Hudson Bay pattern hatchet velvet version. I gotta admit, best switch ever and for almost half the price. The steel and leather sheathe feels better than the Gransfors Bruk.

For $70 on Amazon now, you can't beat the quality/value. The gränsfors bruks carving hatchet is 3x the price.

That looks more like a defect in the eye, you should send it back. The problem I have with BeaverCraft is handle grain orientation, I purchased a Adz from them and the grain was 90 degrees to the head...terrible.

Thanks for pointing out the eye fit. I would point out the hatchets you are comparing it to are at least twice the price. I believe this hatchet was intended to be more of a carving hatchet. Which begs the question, why wasn't it sharper out of the box.

I was actually looking at this thinking it might be useful but then I read a few reviews on it and they didn't make any sense, I rather get a two and a quarter pound Aksum the hardware store and modify the handle if I have to

I own this same hatchet and it's a great little crafting hatchet. The gap he's talking about is absolutely nothing, they all have that gap just like all the Gransfors Bruk axes. The head is hung great the handle will never come loose. Get one you'll be glad you did.

You should do livestream chill sessions once a week. Ideas are current politics, survival, hunting, gaming, how to videos. Etc. It would allow superchats. And might increase subscribers

Dude I just moved away from the S-hole Seattle to the midwest. And am thinking of moving to Alaska now. I have no idea were to even start for moving to AK. I'm a retired veteran. I just want to feel free again

That is no fun! It's hard to give advice about Alaska as it's very hard to live here in general. Especially in the winter

Lots of nice places. Little towns on the Turnagain arm. Wasilla, Palmer and other towns near Anchorage which is a good place to shop. Anchorage is like most cities which I generally avoid. But it is expensive and hard to find good food in the small towns. Alaska has abundant sources of wild food tho. I hope you make it there someday and I hope to make it back.
