From the very beginning Miyazaki has said his two biggest literary influences for Elden Ring were Lord of the Rings and Michael Moorcock's eternal champion series That book series literally popularized the concept of multiverses and featured heroes like Corum, Elric of Melniboné and Moonglum all switching over and teaming up between their novels as they were all aspects and incarnations of one central hero Aside from the few namedrops in the base game, I'm starting to see that influence a little more at last
07:40 - my (not lore related) theory is that the flame wall will be a time frame in which you must reach your coop objectives. It will start when the coop session starts, and will slowly advance from all sides of the area toward the center killing everything in it's path, thus adding a time-rush effect in the mix. Looking at the trailer that's the distinct impression it leaves me with.

This is like Stephen King's connections with Randall Flagg. With a world as magical and high fantasy as The Lands Between, why wouldn't it be? And yes, I too have always wondered what exactly are these lands in between?

It’s got 'shareholder cash grab' written all over it. Companies gearing up to sell almost always crank out a 'money-maker' to boost their value. And as much as that new Elden Ring game looks cool, don’t get your hopes too high. CDPR is another prime example-they’re circling the drain. It’s like 90s/2000s bands: they start off hungry, angsty, and fresh, but once they hit success and lose the drive, they fade into irrelevance. We need to hold game devs to the same standard. Great once doesn’t mean great forever. Sad truth, but it’s time to stop assuming past glory guarantees future greatness.

After Shadow of the Erdtree, I'm burnt out on Elden Ring. I'll still buy and I will play it.

Hmm but there is Borderlands 4 so will see, so as for the game play it looks like a either multi player or a single player but with NPC's or perhaps with both, but for sure it is very Eldon ring game play, and the idea of a bird as your transport is a brilliant idea and I'm sure that I for one will be looking forward to playing this and finding out who the unnamed king is if he is going to be in it, awesome looking forward to hearing more about this and anything Eldon ring it's just the best news ever thanks Dom 👍💯
Elden Ring is a top 3 best ever game for me. Generally prefer single player games to co-op/multiplayer so may not be my type of game. Games don’t have to be for everyone but let’s see. Its lot like there is a shortage of other games to play😂

While contract testers are still under very strict NDA, it's worth noting that the co-op focus, in lieu of single player, may be problematic for many. You *can* play it solo but certain things have (currently) been balanced for multiple players only. The Night Tide is meant to literally shrink the map down so that a group of players is forced into confrontations. The Relic system will be quite a bit different as well.
