The sound of Barbra Streisand voice is so amazing... people gave me hell because I'm Black and she's my favorite singer and Songbird is my favorite song, people laughed at me because they said I should like Rap or R&B....sorry but everything Streisand is all I need and love ❤️
I’m Black and one of the happiest days of my life was May 1978 when my mother brought home what would be become my favorite album of hers SONGBIRD that Guilty The Third Album and The Way We Were are my favorites
There is no voice like Streisands. So unique and beautiful. The song she sang in Yentyl to her deceased father gave me chills and made me cry. She conveys so much emotion.
She is more comfortable and more open than in any interview I’ve seen her in. What a brilliant woman. God truly gave her a gift and she has payed it forward. She has done so many charitable things. What a great interviewer. He’s amazing
This interview has to be the most honest and comprehensive I've ever seen with Barbra. It covered many areas; musical career, her films and only what she wants you to know about her personal life. She has every right to her privacy! Can't wait to read her book.
She is a GEEK in the best way possible! I don't know if many people really understands how much work goes into making a film or a single song, and she gets involved in every part of the process.
This isn't really an "interview." It's a conversation. Zane isn't Barbara Walters, who simply asks question after question. He is giving his opinions and she is responding to them. Much more interesting way to learn about a person.
In a way, to me, she's basically the same person she's always been in interviews. Talking about the same things, going on about the same things. I would like to hear more about her family, in particular her son. Her one and only child, I would think, would bring her great joy. Though she supports gay rights, I believe at times she's also struggled with her son going in that direction. Can't help but think she would have liked a daughter-in-law, and grandkids from her own flesh and blood, not just through her step son.
Never enjoyed Barbara Wawa's interviews. She always was very sharp and pointed with her guests to the point of being intrusive and invasive particularly about their personal lives. Between having seen interviews by Barbara Wahwah and Zane I have to say watching Zane is so open and easy and comfortable like having a conversation with an old friend. Content and peaceful.
Metoo has destabilized women and men. Too much shit in this movement that makes things worse for women in terms of defending muslim women with their veils will drag all the women in the world back to the past. Accepting this submission of women helps the islamists to keep them inferior and all the rights gained for women during 20th century like abortion will be lost again.
I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to see Barbra perform in concert at the Hollywood Bowl about 12 (?) years before this. She was notorious for not doing many live concerts, but that one was glorious. She touched me!!
@veganjeliza8518 Yep, and it was convenient for her at the time, as she lived just a couple miles from the Bowl then. She might have just walked there and back that night. 😂
It is wonderful to see her relaxed and at ease. Her home is so beautiful. As a child with a tragic childhood who’s mother was extremely abusive Barbra got me through it. Her acting and music gave me a place to escape. Her music helped me through the beatings because I could sing with her in my head. Today as a military widow I still watch her movies to relax and dream. She has given so much to the 🎭. Thanks Barbra for all you’ve given.
Mrs. Streisand, I know you consider yourself as girl from Brooklyn. But you have contributed so much to the world. Inspiration, love and excellence! I can go on. But I just wanted to say I love you and thank you ❤
This was such a joy to watch. Zane doesn't get enough credit for how great an interviewer he is. He has a way of getting people to relax and really open up and be present.
Such a great conversation, not just an interview. Bit by bit, putting it together. I took the liberty to share this to my friends, and I really hope that this conversation is seen, reflected on and thought about, because here we have some truths spilled.
It's hard to believe we've had Barbra for almost 6 decades now! She's still just as beautiful, vibrant, and brilliant as ever! Thanks for all of the talent, inspiration and commitment for all these years. She's always been a huge part of my life. XXX
Best interview ever! I have never seen her so excited about her work and details that she thinks about, fascinating. She was so animated and the interviewer asked questions that we want to hear. So tired of journalist asking her why she is a perfectionist ugh. I feel like I know her better!
The story she tells around 14.00 about the crew on Yentl writing a letter to the press to correct misinformation about her is 100% true - I have a friend who appears in Yentl early on, in the village scenes which were shot here in England - he has half a line of dialogue! - he told me before the letter even appeared in the press that the crew spontaneously thought of doing this themselves and the junior and background cast joined them. They were refreshingly surprised how lovely Barbra Streisand was to work with (versus the advance press stories) and how much they appreciated she was trying to get the best for them and out of them. Apparently she later recalled everyone in the village scenes (shot in England) to redub the sound, saying she had not got it right, not the sound team nor the actors nor anyone else, she felt she hadn’t done her best. They all loved her and it was a happy experience making the film.
She had a good plastic surgeon to reconstruct her nose (and it did not change her singing.) She had a big nose and her face has been reconstructed. Remember she is 79 years old and she looks only 61.
@@carolewilson1803 No nose reconstruction, it's the same beautiful nose. No reconstructed face, just neck, and some filler plumping. Her skin is glowing. She looks fabulous! We share the same birthday!
It's a very different vibe from the typical "light entertainment chat show hosts" she would normally be interviewed by. Zane is a music journalist and DJ and completely passionate about music, so this interview is very slanted in that direction.
This interview is bliss. Barbra at her most relaxed and open to sharing more of herself than ever before. So much talent in so many areas all in one tremendously creative woman. How lucky we have been to have you in our lives, how fortunate, how blessed.
I remember that interview where she's asked, "How do you hold a note so long?" And her answer, "Because I want to." I'll always cherish that response to help me power through things that I want to. To persevere. My family got our first TV in 1965, just in time to see My Name Is Barbra! I was ten and I've followed her ever since. I love this interview! She's soulful, seminal and strong. She continues to become...
As a casual singer myself, I can “want to” hold notes as long as she does (and Andrea Bocelli does) but one must have the ability first and foremost. Someday I plan to take voice training/lessons so I can learn how to breath better while singing and I would hope get better at long notes.
Such an evocative singer. I listened to several of Barbra's songs last night and just wept all the way through them. Pulled the deeply buried feelings of love right up and through me. So powerful.❤
Barbra voice has been the soundtrack of my life. I love that she is only human and complex like so many of us. I hope she knows how her voice and music has saved my life journey throughout these years!!
Her speaking voice sounds to warm, healthy and full. She's really taken excellent care of her instrument. There's no signs of damage or vocal nasality. Amazing.
It’s so nice to see her so relaxed and not having to defend herself, I love the way she explains how she can visualize how she wants to direct in a way that only she understands
I was working the grave yard shift in an airline reservation department. She came on the radio singing Evergreeen. Nobody on the phone. Just darkness and her singing. When she finished the song there was a lull in the room and then screaming, clapping and crying. Only Barbra, folks.
What a Wonderful Interview. The sheer intelligent talent with a musical edge over most singers. No one will ever take her place. God's gift to the world. We Thank you Miss Streisand. 💙
She has a purpose for the world that's why at her age God gave her good health and a mind of a 50 yr old, so she can continue to inspired more people. Amazing!
I've been listening to her music since before I went to school in the 60s. She has always been my favorite singer; my favorite song is the duet she does with herself from Yentl- the most emotional/moving song I have ever heard- 1994 concert, I believe.....I finally saw her in 2012 in Vancouver and I cried the entire concert. She was just feet away from me....There never has been, nor will there ever be a voice like hers. She is talented and brilliant. She has brought so much to this world over the course of her life in so many ways. A true gift.........
Love her so much! She is beyond amazing! Wish the younger generation REALLY knew more about her! She's incomparable and one of the greatest talents that have every graced the stage or screen! Bless her, always!
I admire this woman so much! She has done so much for people and all the fights that she fought for, especially human rights and women empowerment. So sad that she's still fighting but at the same time I'm happy that she's still fighting. She's a super human! ❤️❤️❤️
I love Barbara Streisand, I love her beautiful voice. It's heaven sent. I'm also black and I don't care what black people think of me listening to Barbara Streisand. She has a beautiful voice. I know good music when I hear it and rap and hip hop ain't it. Today's rap is trash and garbage. I rather listen to Barbara Streisand to keep my sanity then today's garbage satanic demonic music. I rather listen to something that makes sense and about love and compassion then that garbage.
This is the best interview reflecting Barbara's intellect and creative processes and how she utilizes it to transport the emotional life into her music. Her songs have the emotional life of the character shining through via Stanislavsky is what separates her work from others. Her performances have 3D emotion and feelings that touches the listeners soul. Luv U!
This was such a breeze to watch, the interviewer was soo well prepared and just got her vibe, and Barbra so authentic🎶, as a singer myself I love it when the person in front is so interested in why and how of the song and singing. Brilliant footage, loved it!💖🎬
I have been a fan for decades, but listening to this interview, it has given me such a deeper understanding of this amazing woman. I love what she has to say regarding all the negative critiques she had to endure through the years and the "REAL" reasoning behind it. She just wants to control the outcome to bring something to the truth and how in doing this makes the outcome be unique and be the best it can possibly be in the end. This truly gives more color to all her work, and something her book and this interview explains in a way that we all have an opportunity to understand Barbra! (if the viewer/reader so choses to be open to understanding how her mind and heart work).... this is the key is be open and not critical. The critical element she has had to endure in a mans world can be summed up and she clarified when she compared the USA mindset with European mindset.
She is the Greatest Of Them All . Always has been from the first note . She has been for me 60 years now . Every new record / CD always a event . Always went to grab one ASAP . Always hoping the next one , one more please Barbra !
This is the most interesting interview i have ever watched. Finally a person who understands the artist to ask and acknowledge the right questions. Came across as 2 friends having a chat more than an interview 🥰
With all love for Barbara, she amazes me more with how she takes care of herself! Guys she's 79!!! That beautyful lady seated there is 79!!❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥🤍🤍🤍 I love you Barbara Streisand.
What a beautiful and exciting lady. I've always enjoyed seeing her sing and act. She's looking good in her later years!!! may God continue to show you favor Barbra Streisand....
I absolutely loved this interview🥰🥰 Love Barbra to the moon and back for all her talents and the person she is. Can’t wait to hear and purchase this new album.
Saw Barbra in an antique store in Carpintería. I heard her from the next room and knew instantly it was her. After a bit, casually side glanced in the room without making eye contact. She had two white dogs and James was in the car waiting. Made sure to not bother her and give her peace of a regular person in our small town. Proud of her.
Talking of dreams seeing Barabara live was a life time dream for me I knew she would probably never come sing live in South Africa so in 2012 seeing Barbara live in Queens New York was a reality dream for me. I will never forget that electricity I felt it could power the world . So many dreams come true such as this one - what an inspirational interview . My next stop as an editor of an antique magazine is to interview Barbara about her collection . What a journey of life. Thank you for all your words.
At last! A GREAT Barbra Streisand interview! This was absolutely wonderful and uplifting. Zane Lowe did the best job ever as the interviewer. The hour went by in a flash.
One of the voices most incredibles around the world, I grown up with her music, lot of song makes me cry and feel like she wrote for me, specially for moments in my life. We love you and we want more music from you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
Barbra looks so at ease here, she feel so comfortable in this interview and Zane is such an intelligent and natural talk host, always knowing when to intervene and when to refrain, giving Barbra the freedom to just express her thoughts and opinions.
This is the best interview I have ever heard Barbra do. I like her more than I ever did before. Who would have thought that, that young girl that we seen 'oh so long ago' on the Johnny Carson Tonight Show or The Judy Garland Show would have become such a brilliant person. She's come a long way from "Happy Days Are Here Again" or "Second Hand Rose" or "People" Barbra must be doing something right to have an everlasting career in so many things. It's almost unbeliavable.
What a fantastic interview!! It flows so well because Zane and Barbra really gel and "get" each other. His questions are so well-thought-out and bring out Barbra's truth about her life, her work, and her artistic process. What a joy to watch!! Barbra is so intelligent, and a truly beautiful person, inside and out. I can't wait to listen to her new album in full and take in the gorgeous aesthetic changes. What an incredible life she has had thus far! Barbra is a true gift to us all.
She went to Erasmus Hall High School when I did. She graduated in 1959 and I did in 1960. I would see her everyday in the halls changing classes. She wore slopped woolen sweater and doe eye makeup. She wore silver bracelets and had a focus like no other. She sang in assembly without a microphone. I remember Barbra.
As many here have stated, this was more a conversation than an interview. Great chemistry. As far as how Zane is dressed, I think it’s great. It sets an relaxed, informal tone. Excellent .
Barbara Streisand, I have loved her voice forever, loved her movies Yentel was fantastic , in fact I want to go back and watch all of them . I look forward to this book and Album
Looking forward to the "many more" songs and albums she is planning to do ❤ and I can't wait for the book 😍 love you Barbra! I love your eye for details and your instincts, and of course your wonderful home! You are a work of arts yourself ❤❤🌹
The very best interview of Barbra Streisand that I have ever watched. Zane did a phenomenal on target interview of a very smart extremely talented beautiful Barbra Streisand. She is unique in everything she does. She is perfect in my words, but not according to her. She is always working on perfection. Barbra is our special jewel sparkling from the inside out. Thank you for all the joy you have given us with your exceptional talents. Q
I remember when Celine Dion and Barbra recorded a duet back in 1997 called "Tell Him". Celine was 29 at the time, and Barbra was 57--nearly twice Celine's age. When I heard about it, I instantly knew that Celine had made a mistake agreeing to it. (In the song, they mainly sang separately in alternating fashion, although they sang together some too.) You see, Celine Dion is a generational talent, but Barbra is the kind of singer who comes around every 150 years or so. Needless to say, Celine sounded extraordinary ... until Barbra started singing. Then Celine sounded only ordinary. Only Barbra Streisand could make Celine Dion sound ordinary!!
She was so dirt poor....you know she said she wears Payless slide shoes in her garden because they are so comfortable......you have got to love it she totally gets it......as many do not a legend in our time❤
Zane top of his game, always prepared, proud of this kiwi. Felt I was in the room with you two. What I love about her is how unrehearsed her answers are, she is still vulnerable and authentic, no veneer. And what a beautiful home. She encapsulated the world she saw as a child in her homes, wow isn’t that the value of living authentically ?
I have admired every aspect of Ms Streisand since I was a young girl. This is the most candid, relaxed and " real" conversation had. The interview is a conversation and they included us. So talented!
Thank You Barbra for being who you are. You are inspiration for the rest of us. Your talent is magnificent and your intelligence is awe-inspiring.. You are beautiful inside and outside. Truth is such a theme in our present world, if only we had more people who cherished the truth and trusted their own instincts, the world would be in a different place than it is now. A thousand Thank You's!
What a blessed, blessed and blessed again human being. She has used her gift very well. I hope she does another studio album soon. She still has that gift. God bless her.
Wow, after so many years, finally an interview that brings something new. I couldn't stand all those talk show hosts asking always the same safe questions. She loves talking about the craft of making films/music - but usually nobody asks her about it.
This is such a great interview. She seems so relaxed…. And beautiful. Sort of ironic: She’s “searched” for beauty all her life…. Completely overlooking the fact that SHE is that very beauty she’s searched for. (And here I thought I couldn’t love her more! 💙)
Never knew this interview existed till today. This was an incredibly great one on one with one of my all time favorites. She is still so poised and beautiful! I find it incongruous that someone with her talent and beauty used to be degraded about her looks. Barbra you are so beautiful and I am glad you never changed your lovely unique features. Bravo!

What an incredible woman! What a legacy! It's a gift just to be alive at the same time as her! And she's still unstoppable 💖

Love you
@@paulsmith2279 Oh man, what a negative thinking you represent. This album is a compilation of songs from the past... Don't you get it?
😁 I've thought the same thing. This jewel is present in my lifetime. I don't know life without her.💕✌
Precisely! Since we probably won't meet these people, I think that's the next best thing😎
She's gorgeous for any age but for 80 she's got so much energy and vibrancy.
Her energy comes from within Ryan. Its called peace.
Love her so much! She is beyond amazing! Wish the younger generation REALLY knew more about her! She's incomparable and one of the greatest talents that have every graced the stage or screen! Bless her, always!
Even Barbra’s speaking voice is unique and beautiful ❤️
That's right. So sexy and soothing. 💛
It's so true though! Her speaking voice is unique. She's such a self created entity.
she enunciates........
@@andreanittel2240 yes I never thought of that, I agree 👍👍
I absolutely agree with you !
A perfect diction which allows me, a Frenchwoman to understand everything she says.
Great interview and talk. Barbra looks fantastic. Happy to see she is still thriving. Excited to see what she has up her sleeve.
Luv U!
Nice 👍
Hello pretty 💝
This was such a breeze to watch, the interviewer was soo well prepared and just got her vibe, and Barbra so authentic🎶, as a singer myself I love it when the person in front is so interested in why and how of the song and singing. Brilliant footage, loved it!💖🎬
My favourite Barbra interview ever! She is such a rare genius and I use that word carefully. Thank you for being such a major part of my life.
What a great interview. Barbra looks terrific, Sounds terrific ,WOW
With all love for Barbara, she amazes me more with how she takes care of herself! Guys she's 79!!! That beautyful lady seated there is 79!!❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥🤍🤍🤍
I love you Barbara Streisand.
It's "Barbra" that extra "A" as she once said, "Who needs it?" (Just sayin')
@@davidhart2788 A'ight bet cheers mate😅🌸❤
Barbra has been an inspiration throughout my lifetime with her music and that amazing voice.
Forever in your debt.
What a beautiful and exciting lady. I've always enjoyed seeing her sing and act. She's looking good in her later years!!! may God continue to show you favor Barbra Streisand....
I absolutely loved this interview🥰🥰
Love Barbra to the moon and back for all her talents and the person she is.
Good for you for giving her space and privacy. I can’t imagine going up to someone and bothering them, no matter how famous they are.
Beautiful lady so down to earth
One of the voices most incredibles around the world, I grown up with her music, lot of song makes me cry and feel like she wrote for me, specially for moments in my life. We love you and we want more music from you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
Hi, how are you doing!?
I have so much respect for this wonderful woman. Thank you, for everything.
I love how honest Barbara is.
Barbra looks so at ease here, she feel so comfortable in this interview and Zane is such an intelligent and natural talk host, always knowing when to intervene and when to refrain, giving Barbra the freedom to just express her thoughts and opinions.
This was like listening to their personal conversion...not an interview. Love it! She was so real and relax here with Zane.
Barbra is an artist on another level. What an incredible person.
Barbara is amazing. Beautiful home - beautiful films - beautiful voice.
🤢🤢🤢
...and Zane is so sweet. The way Zane is in the room and in his presence makes him so good.
Hello 👋
She went to Erasmus Hall High School when I did. She graduated in 1959 and I did in 1960. I would see her everyday in the halls changing classes. She wore slopped woolen sweater and doe eye makeup. She wore silver bracelets and had a focus like no other. She sang in assembly without a microphone. I remember Barbra.
Carole Wilson Aaaaaaaaaaa
Hello pretty 💝
How very fortunate you are Carole. Did you ever talk with Barbra in those early days?
Great interview! The best news is that Barbra wants to do MANY MORE ALBUMS!!!!
Her voice to me is like a warm blanket. Only her voice does that to my soul .
She is always working on
perfection. Barbra is our special jewel sparkling from the inside out. Thank you for all the joy you have given us with your exceptional talents. Q

There is only one Barbra Streisand and no one compares to her👏✨️🎭. An amazingly talent.
you better believe it!
Amazing, not amazingly.
She was so dirt poor....you know she said she wears Payless slide shoes in her garden because they are so comfortable......you have got to love it she totally gets it......as many do not a legend in our time❤
I love Barbra's spoken voice. It's so soothing....And she says clever things too.
Barbra I think you are the most talented person. Thank you so much for sharing your gifts with us all. I am looking forward to reading your story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. Zane Lowe's interviews with artists are simply the best ones out there.
How are you doing!?
Hi, how are you doing!?
She looks good in this interview. I love her songs and films!🙂👍❤
I melted into this interview, what a stunning insight into this great lady's life, a joy to watch!
I feel like all is well, when Barbra speaks. Great chat. xoxo
Isn’t that so true! I love how Duane said, I feel like all is well, when Barbra speaks. Something about her. xoxox
@@DawnOKane and still adorable... her genuine SHOCK about Twitter posts not being tweeted by the celeb... Too cute.
What an extraordinary interview! Thanks Barbra to share your thoughts and truth, you're unique.
Bravo!
Barbra's most relaxed interview ever. She seems so happy and content at this point in her life. I'm really happy for her!
