Take for exams on this episode where he made a bet with the audience and he lost and had to offer every free dinner at his restaurant (which is a bit on the higher end). So after that I still think his humor is a bit weird but that is how he is and he doesn't mean it.

I get why people in the comments would think the singer’s actions were rude, but I beg to differ. I would even go as far as to say he was being quite polite. Number one, he really let her shine. His mic was not turned off because you can still clearly hear his voice singing along with her, but it’s faint because he purposely puts the mic far from his mouth to let the contestant’s voice pop. Number 2, it seems that before they sang, he must have made a special request to have the instrumental be adjusted to be a female key instead of the original so that it would be easier for her to sing the song. Number 3, while this is a great show to showcase great non-celebrity singers, at the end of the day, the main point of this show is for entertainment and variety so considering that it’s HIS song to begin with and the fact that this particular male singer is known for his goofiness and love for suspense, I say he didn’t necessarily do anything wrong. I think his punishment was that he couldn't "duet" with her. I actually wasn't sure what was happening at first. Thought she was trying to sing too early and he was correcting her, cause you know, stopping her would be rude. To tell the truth, I think he would have sang till the end if the PDs hadn't cut off his mic. I understand it could have been funny but he did it a few times too many. If she was tone deaf, it would have been super funny. But because she was skilled, he should realize he was stopping her from her chance to shine. With that in mind, no matter if they're tone deaf or skilled, to be fair to the skilled, you have to let them sing. I think it would have been funnier if after finding out she was tone deaf, he kept pulling her mic away. But definitely not the way it was done here.

No they didn't cut his mic, he let her sing. He holds the microphone away from his mouth on purpose so that she can follow along with his voice, but let her voice be heard on recording. If the show cut his mic, the PD would have been fired because that would be insanely disrespectful to him since he's an older/experienced/famed singer in SK.
