Ocean waves recorded on the great movie, "Cast Away" are the best recording of ocean waves crashing I have ever heard. I have never been to the edge of a great ocean. The Gulf of Mexico does not count. They say the shape of the ground under the water makes different waves depending on where you are on Earth.

I'm close to the Atlantic and the waves are long and when they hit the ground they can be thunderous. Their retreat is just as peaceful as a long sigh. Highly recommend especially in the southern US Atlantic.
