Kool Moe Dee deserves more respect than he's gotten from the hip hop community
I 100% agree. Dude never gets mentioned and I follow tons of groups full of hip hop heads and record collectors. No one mentions Kool Moe Dee.
Nahh fr man 🤣‼️‼️
💯
A, LL was the thruth too. Buy I always liked Moe Dee's lyrical delivery! How ya like me now!!! 😎

LL CoolJ thanked him for pushing him when he was inducted in the Rock n Roll hall of fame .. That speak volumes ..
Kool Moe Dee was a bad dude!!
that's why Kool Moe Dee beefed witg him, people thought it was clout chasing but he wanted 'LL to prove himself lyrically which he did because 'LL disrespected the OG's and Kool Moe didnt like that. Same reason he was beefing with Busy Bee
@@phistoltv5196 LL never disrespected the OG's. Moe Dee said on Video Soul his issue with LL stemmed from LL saying in a song "I'm only 18 making more than your Pops". If that's what you mean by OG's, then you are correct.
원지 보고 왔자나아~
One of rap music's first articulate, profound and positive drug free rappers. I love Kool Moe Dee! I believe he pioneered the rap battle.
Yes he did the brother is cool awsome videl

🙌
LL gave thanks to maybe the only dude to ever decisively beat him (imo) in his speech at the Rock n Roll HOF.
Kool mo doesn't get enough credit for being an elite lyricist. He had mad flow. Me and my friends went to our prom just like the background dancers, tuxedos and jordans. Those were the days.
Me to bruh! C/o '89!
Always underrated.
You're right. I think Kool Moe must underrated under appreciated from the 80s.
He would decimate every rapper on the charts today in even one song. He’s a lethal lyricist.
@@EFunkRock facts my favorite rapper..
Love the James Brown sampling 😎
One of the greatest well put together LYRICAL RAP SONGS of all time.
To me, the most consequential rapper of all-time. He took rap, made it mean something, took it beyond a novelty and turned it into a real art form. It takes tons of talent to write a 4-6 minutes poem set to music. Just remembering all the lyrics would be hard, writing it in the first place, well - it's pure talent. I still listen to Kool Moe Dee every day and always will.
I let my mic do the talking...I let the music ▶️
Rap is typically done in "Ballad" style structurally if you want to talk poetics.
They are legitimate ballads don't let anyone say it isn't art
For me, it's Eric B and Rakim. But Moe Dee deserves props too.
@@imfreviewsKool Moe Dee inspired Rakim which is interesting.
Special Ed n Doug e fresh was my go back in the day. Rakim was definitely my main go to as well

One of the pioneering heavyweights of Hip Hop's golden era.

You do know , he used be in a rap group called Treacherous 3 !
Back when rappers got their point across without using profanity. Kool Moe D was still hard
The D.O.C. as well

And the fact that it was abt lyrics rhymes and rapping and not abt doing drugs n other dumb shii.

Remember when him and L.L. had beef? 😆
One of the best diss songs of all times

A timeless MC, and a Timeless rhyme. Thank you!!
Real rap here. This Sh't today blows. Thank god for RUclips. 👌👌
Kool Moe Dee: You Took My Style I'm taking it back 😂😂✊🏿🦍 These are 4 Kool Moe Dee 💐💐💐
The best rap lyricist ever. "I'm bigger and better forget about deffer, every time I rocked the mike I left a stain on your brain that will remain; stuck in the back of your brain until you see me again." CLASSIC!
Not sure if you know or not he dissing LL in this record. I remember this beef well. Kool Moe Dee was an intellectual rapper at the TIME.
Moe Dee is a true artist. A skilled vocabulary craftsman. It amazes me to know that you gave birth to the style that other greats like Kane and Rakim and many other used so frequently. I also realized that most of your music isn’t confined to one particular genre. You’re a true artist and entertainer. Your potential as yet to be maximized.
I battle "kool more dee" 2 save my "own life"..ll cool j had balls but "k.m.d." is just 2 freakin lyrical...I like "ll cool j" but "k.m.d." is just much more lyrical...IMO...& "let's go"..wow!!!!he rapped he's "lipps" off on that song...& my favorite is "BAD MUTHA!!!!"
He’s college educated, with a degree in English and a minor in Communication..
He was one of the best, there’s no doubt about.
Other genres? He did other types of music besides rap?
You must be from my generation. You are so spot on.
@@tristanzegethm.n7649 Other genres? He did other types of music besides rap?
I'm a LL fan, but Moe Dee is one of the best rappers ever. Lyrically he is up there with the best. Not to mention the album cover with the Kangol under the tire was classic
Kool Moe Dee w ur smooth self. This is when music was real and u could understand what the rapper was saying. Its 2022 and I'm still listening. I'm here to give u ur flowers.. Thank u Mr. D ♥️💪🙏
원지님 타고 왔잖아유~ 엉덩이 들썩들썩 😂
쿨모디 기분 째진다이이잉~ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 원지 보고 오신분?👍
When rappers used to diss without saying a single swear
@Kristian Mijic :)
Lol everything has to evolve if rap stayed like this it would not be as big - not saying what we have now is necessarily good but if it stayed like it did in 87, it would be stagnant
' ST0P !'
And a few years after this No Vaseline came out.
@Margaret McGee after that came the worlds most dangerous group N.W.A And cube releise no vaseline so i think gangsta rap is better than this .

Kool Mo Dee indeed ‼️ So who's gonna love hip hop legend for 2023 anyway?!
I'm 27 and I can say this is the way rap should be. This also being a rebuttal is just so smooth. No profanity needed to diss another rapper🔥

HOW FEEL TO SEE ANOTHER MC GET PAID ! ❤️ LOVE IT. 😂😂
The man who revolutionized hip hop
This n**** Kool Moe is the pioneer of cocky feeling himself rap and not another rapper can duplicate his style.

56 years old! still rockin this in 2022!
My taste old school music heals the soul
Rap history brought me here. But watching “The Last Dance” with the Chicago Bulls made this hit different haha.
These diss tracks between Kool Mo and LL are the stuff of legend. Takes me back.
when rap was still amazing and not just primitive
Shout out to those born 1968 and graduated High School in 1986!
yep thats me-kool Moe dee one of the best ever!!!!
Kool Moe true legend!
Well I'm so glad I grew up during the beginning of rap. Supreme talent. This trash these days is a disgrace!
You can that again
I wasn’t born till 2002 and i rather listen to old school hip-hop and rap and others like 2pac, biggie and nwa, music nowadays its so embarrassing i feel embarrassed myself hearing people my age play drill etc when its not even good this type of music will forever reign the music industry and it’ll never change
shits fire for the time, but from nowadays perspective, these bars are low level as fuck,
you just ain't listening to the right shit, either that or can't except new music at all..
there's always a beginning to something new
lol
shit really only be slapping because of the time period it came out in, it was original af
if something like this came out nowadays, that was genuinely equally as fire, in the same flow or style, i bet ya wouldn't even like it!
sad but the truth
My Dad's favorite rapper since he released "Wild Wild West".
His sunglasses is the new style now. The best music ever
Kool Moe Dee voice was so epic

Classic -- without doubt! I think another lyrical masterpiece from Moe Dee is "I Go To Work"
Wild, Wild West trumps I Go To Work
@@rucianapollard7098 it's another classic for sure ... but KMD shows off on I Go To Work.

How does this not even have a million views
It has more than a million views now fortunately.
For sure. This is easily one of the top 10 rap songs of the 20th century. In my top 5 hands down for solo artists.
old school was the best hip hop not like crap we get now
Yea because you had to know to rap back the begin. That's why
faxx
Joseph V If you don’t like new hip hop you are unoriginal, corny and a clown. You sound dumb. You need to stop treating music you like as objectively good music. Personally I don’t like Drake at all, however many people do and I really couldn’t give less of a fuck.
@@johnnydaves5132 that's what I just said. I'm not hating on it. The guy I'm commenting at is lolll
Joseph V As I said, calling people clowns, corny and the worst because they like old school hip hop and not new is very stupid. That’s not what the OP did. He said that this music is better than new music. Personally, I’d agree. Granted, he did say that new music is bad in general, however he probably realises that thats his opinion and not fact. When you reply, I can tell that’s not the case for you. For one calling people names, but second is the fact that it was a reply. Now, you’re saying that you were merely calling OP out for saying new rap is bad and you’re implying now that it’s an opinion, but in your very reply you said that new rap is good and never mentioned the word opinion. That makes you a hypocrite.
Teddy Riley's beats never get old to me. I love this era of rap.

billy greene shut up chump if you condone mumble rap then you're part of the problem smh
billy greene liking music that actually has effort and meaning doesn't mean he's stuck in the past. The vast majority of today's rap is garbage

This Battle Rap is Criminally Underrated!! Moe Dee served LL on a Platter!!
Kool Moe Dee's word game and lyrical skills is phenomenal
LL loss.... yeah I said it, but this was a classic battle between both
How the hell u figure????🤣🤦🏾♂️
I hate how hip-hop discards artists they perceive career got ended after one beef ..Thats why hip-hop as a industry is dead .
Lyrically moes diss was better, I think he won, but it's perceived that ll won because he was able to transition his career etter than moe, so the perception is that ll's diss is what ended his career when in fact hip hop was already transitioning and moe wasn't able to maintain the youth
Uhh no, LL rocked him with him several joints. "To da Break of Dawn", "Jack the Ripper", just to name 2, but this was a good battle.
Not At All! LL killed him with I'm Bad!
