Everyone loves people under conditions, you love them under the condition they don't sleep with someone else, under the condition they don't hurt your feelings too bad, under the condition they love you back etc. If they cheat, hurt your feelings or don't love you back people wanna end the relationship so there are always conditions. The only unconditional love is the love a mother has for her child, if you hurt your mums feelings she'll still love you, if you don't love your mum back she'll still love you and even if you disowned her and started calling someone else mum, she'd still love you. Unfortunately not all mums but that's the only place you'll find love truly without any conditions. Everywhere else love has conditions one way or another.

Human beings aren't perfect, we are flawed, therefore, we're bound to make mistakes, some mistakes are unforgiveable for a lot of people, if you expect loyalty, love, trust, honesty from your partner these are all conditions, if they break that trust, bond or do something extremely foul, unconditional love will fail or you'll finish yourself. It only take place with a child and the parent for the most part, typically no matter how what your child does there's a part of you that will probably still sacrifice yourself for them if you can but other than that, I don't see it being something that's realistic. In my opinion you do not ever ‘find yourself’ and then fall in love. Life is a journey of self discovery and two imperfect people do not necessarily ‘complete one another’ either. Finding love that is forgiving and gives you a safe place to fully start the journey of your mission in this world is what you should look for. If we forget about all the brainwashing from all the movies we have watched we will be vulnerable enough to know we are never going to be ‘perfect’. However I do believe that a person going in a relationship needs to get to a place where they are self aware. This will give them the freedom to learn and grow in that relationship as they grow. All this talk of loving yourself comes and only inhibits growth. Growth in a relationship is not linked to self growth unless you are emotionally uninformed or feel like you are not going to be able to be vulnerable enough to be loved and not be scared of outcome and be strong in your vulnerability. Loving someone is not wrong. Our need for companionship is not a weakness if you are meeting someone feeling like you will be emotionally unavailable then by all means stay single.
