This is true for me when I played Wow Classic. Constantly chasing that carrot on a stick while telling myself that it's worth the work to get there. Once I did get whatever it was I was chasing, such as specific level or new item, I was really happy for about 5 minutes. Then you start chasing the next carrot. I've heard that some people describe it as hard work and these people are very proud of their characters and achievements. I just see a bunch of people who are letting dopamine lead them around by the nose.
That reasoning is why I never bothered trying to get into mmo's unless my friends convinced me to, there's no ending just a continuous grind and that sounds like torture tbh
MMORPGs have always been like normal RPGs except they have very shitty gameplay, pointless grind mechanics and low-quality story telling. The only reason to play them was the "social" aspect.
I have started a discourse. That is more important than anything could ever be.
Mass Effect 3 proved to me the destination can ruin the journey.

He does bitch and moan when playing BGs, but in my experience, it's very far off the salt levels of the average Arena nights.
When you consider how much he plays, his salt levels are pretty remarkable

That's not what he said. You should really pay attention if you're going to use quotations. He said that he doesn't get as salty in comparison to when he is sniped while playing arena.

I was sitting there remembering if that was me playing Edwin, and it was until I saw that hydra snipe. The level of salt feels bad.
Last time I did Tyrion I got to turn 6 without even seeing a single neutral minion. Always fun.

Had that happen to me too, just after that I had a run with Daryl where I didnt see and tokens for about as long. Needless to say I got absolutely destroyed
Nothing makes me saltier than it finally being ‘my turn’ with Tyrion, only for rng to shit all over me. Feels bad. Like Deryl only seeing goddam micro machines and rafaam by turn six with only a couple of tokens and a mecharoo for his trouble.

yeah lately i dont take him seriously, but what the hell do i know, i play hearthstone a lot less than him so i am probably wrong...
MrAlienform13 I mean sometimes you’re just unlucky. It happens. That game I still ended up top 4, but I had a dead hero power the entire game.
I love Tyrion, I want more heroes that force a unique play style/build.

I am happy you are doing BG vids and streams over 'regular' Arena. I used to play a lot, but with 2 kids to take care about, I 'dropped' out of the normal 'Arena' HS circulation for 2 years or so and I cannot recognise the game anymore with all the changes and updates. :D
But Blizzard adding BG brought me back playing the game again and I am very happy about your vids and insight, and actually covering this part of the game. Many thanks, and keep it up, Kripp! :D

I have played 29 matches so far with tirion and stayed 28 times in top 4 ( rank 6500 )

Played 10 games with Tirion and got first 3 times. Top 4 the other 7. You have to TRY to lose to not get top 4.
Not necessarily. Just watched a savjz video where Dog was playing tirion and got last. If you get unlucky in the early game you’re kinda screwed.
My first game with tirion I didn't get any neutral minions in the early game and had to put together a scuffed mech build. ended up getting 6th because bad RNG
It's all about choice. Dont feel too pressured to maximize the hero power.
You can go demons or w/e early and still do fine. You dont need a board full of typeless minions early for him to do well. That's been my experience anyway.
I mean at that point it's like playing without a hero power, which puts you behind every other hero in the game. Ofc you can get the right minions to carry you to a decent placing but tirion still plays much smoother with an at least decent start. I would say he just brings more consistency than other heroes since nobody picks up the minions tirion is looking for and he stays on tavern 1 in the early game, leading to less early game chip damage
@@drpeppy635 Kinda but you make up for it in other ways. Buffing the support minions like Soul Juggler, Kangor, Baron gives him just enough of an advantage to make him useful.

I have only been offered Tirion once despite over 20 hours of BG since Tirion became available. It was literally the easiest 1st place ever.

on every damn tirion run of yours you get the perfect start. when i pick him i can roll dead for 3-4 rounds until i find the first neutral. damn you are realy insanly lucky kriperino
What make your videos/streams entertaining to watch is that you don't indulge to this compulsory positivity a lot of youtuber found to be their way to captivate a younger audience and make money. You're spontaneous, and that make your salty personnality more enjoyable that you can imagine. You bring something in the HS screens that no one else does and stayed a human amongs the drones after all these years on a plateform which killed many influencers souls.
It's insane how strong that board is. Kripp actually still got really unlucky attack orders in this one. Enemy tokens always sniping divine shields, Selfless Hero always shielding Spawn or the other Selfless Hero. Still won most of these games easily.

Kripp, legit question, why at 17:37 did you give Taunt to Wrath Weaver instead of Selfless Hero? Wouldn't taunting the divine shield-giver be better? Or did you do it simply because board space?
Probably cause he values the double battlecries from Brann over giving the selfless hero taunt.
It's easy to play Tirion when you get tier 1 neutrals early. If you don't, it's actually puzzling.
Any tokens/creature created after the battle starts are all 1 star by default. Good fix or nah?

Festerroot Hulk is underrated. Very all around good card no matter what hero, especially over some high tier minions that only work with certain builds (e.g. junkbot)
I am typing this before watching: kripp hits wrathweavers round 1 or 2 with tirion and wins.
After watching, I was wrong. He hit it round 3.
I think this is a good example of how powerful a 1 mana give minions +1\+1 is. It could be the reason why they were so hesitant to make Jaraxxus’ hero power from 3 to 2.
Is brann hero removed from BG ?
They could make it so that the first minion a deathrattle spawns deals the damage of the original minion, then the other spawns deal no damage, even if they're spawns of spawns (e.g. if a deathrattle spawns another deathrattle). So if you kill an 8/2 rat, the first token deals 2 damage and the others none. If you kill a ghastcoiler which spawns another ghastcoiler and those spawn loads of galakronds, etc - whatever - the first spawn deals 6 damage, and the rest deal zero. That way, you guarantee that the damage a minion which starts on the board will do is always the same, so long as some part of it still lives. If your board starts with 20 damage potential, your max damage potential is 20 plus your level.

I can confirm this. He is one of the best 3 best heroes. I suck at battlegrounds but when I tirion I have 80%win rate and the other 20% I end second.
I remember getting Tirion several times during a lose streak a few days ago, and all of the games I had with him actually were wins. I actually am a really bad Battlegrounds player, so he just carried my arse through a lose streak...

is the spawn worth it when its still single and like 10-10? like making it bigger only prevents it from death and then the death rattle doesn't get value. generally, rover, pack leader and spawn are good early but losing cause of it late.
tirion is very powerful, i was winning with double weaver double watcher with like 60-60 hp. probably a nerf to him would be giving weaver the demon category, or stuff like baron and brann and others a special category that doesn't belong to any category and cant receive category buffs. like special units.
i feel like with the bigger pool, is hard to find triples, and demons got buffed by the 2 new arrivals. lot of time i lose midgame in 2 games cause they got puny demons and 2 jugglers. maybe overall increase the hp for all heroes? start from 60, patchwerk from 75. that would give 1-2 extra turns so you can reach tier 5 and try your luck.
one thing in auto chess is better: units got 2 different categories so you can match them by that, so more synergy. you can go warrior but get the ogre bonus, or have mechs but goblins too. board space limitation is also an issue and no goldens from triple golden, so it feel mre 2 dimensional and too much luck involved. win first 2 turns by pulling a 2-3 murloc. grab yourself a decent comb and get lucky for 3-4 turns, then you got enough hp to do whatever for 2-3 turns. while losing first 2 turns then not being able to get a triple limits your levelups and right before you got a unit which would define your build, you just die getting unlucky.

It might be tricky to code and to communicate to the players but it seems to me that the best solution is to prevent tokens from doing more damage than the minion they spawned from.

I had an INSANE Millhouse run today where I got a mama bear turn 5 off a Zerus I got off a triple the previous turn
One thing in the battlegrounds I think would help a lot is if token minions like the rats/minibots/plants didn't have a star rating? So if you won with them you wouldn't do any more damage than your current level.
Have to say I agree with Kripp completely on WoW Classic. Played to 49, but I would play to 70 or 80 for sure.
Calling Tirion 'worth it' is an understatement.
I think tokens dealing no damage is a cracking idea. Your hero still deals damage after all. I think whatever Ghastcoiler and similar minions spawns should also be counted as tokens, so the highmane would also deal no damage.

Demons seems to be the best end game overall strategy. Unless someone gets lucky roll poison with murlocs, you will get a ton of stats against anything, specially against mechs.
Yeah, but you better be THEE demon player of the 3 to 5 people going Demons, because taking all that damage, you got maybe one loss before you're severely gimped. Mechs are a safer overall strategy.
a fix for deathcoiler is just make all his spawns do 1 dmg, no matter if it was a 6th tier or a first tier
Totally agree with you on your WoW classic opinions too. Did i play WoW back in Vanilla yes, did i enjoy myself at the time? Yes, do i see a point in going back to it now? No, Classic to me now is probably the least interesting part of the game. If they released WotLK again then yeah, i'd play. Wrath was the absolute pinnacle of World of Warcraft design and fun. If i did play Classic now i'd probably level to 60 and then just never play it again and i'd rather use that time doing something else.

Maybe only the first of each type of token should deal 1 damage. And maybe units summoned by deathrattles should only deal one in general.
Tirion is pretty disgusting. Often you can just get 7 of those tier 1-2 neutrals and keep buffing them. Super late game you throw in a baron and ghast coilers and you win.
Yup, Tirion seems to be a pretty braindead pick. Pick early neutrals and buff them, and then win the game. Kripp had one turn in this clip where he had to seriously think...
I wonder if it would be possible to nerf him reasonably. Because the idea of a hero focused on neutrals is interesting, but +1/+1 for 1 is just way too much in the late game, while paying 2 for it would be too much in the early game. Maybe something like a rotating power? Like +2/+0 into +0/+2?
You could also limit the targets, for example 1 Mana give four different random minions without a tribe +1/+1 so you don't buff seven minions every single turn.
Or if they add Dragons and Pirates and stuff to this mode, neutral minions will be less common making Tirion weaker automatically.

@@shawaam It's super brainless but not autowin. You actually have 9,7% odds to automatically end on places 6-8. I never have seen Tirion in top 4 when he missed all his first 3 rolls going with t.1 strategy which is standard. Same stuff from my own experience - somehow had it only 5 times but three times i hit that 9,7% and ended 6,7,8-th, when I missed but hit another roll ended 2-nd and when hit 1 roll went 1. From what I have seen while people playing this tendency is ultra strong. Just gamble with head start, know final effect on turn 2 hero.

Watching this in april for some reason and they actually made floating watcher a 4 star.
If you win with tokens, regardless of how many spawn on the last hit, you should do 1 damage + tavern tier level. That way, you get a tiny bonus, but not unfair high amounts for barely winning.
Each token should count for 3/5ths a damage
yeah agree the damage from random token is one of the thing turn me off from battleground at the moment
i played tirion and a zeras i bouyght turned into a goldwin so i ended up doing menagerie tyrion on like turn 4

trippled it easily cuz no one plays menagerie anymore
It's almost impossible not to get top 4 with Tirion.
Of course it is if you lowroll badly first couple turns. If you start buffing anything at 6-7 mana you are forced to play semi mechs or semi demons with polluted pool at least for time being. It's very easy to get 5-6 than as you basically fighting for 3-4 and failure means 5-6. And if you insist on lvl 1 plays in case of lowrolling and you still miss - few % points - you actually get guaranteed 7-8. Low chances but nevertheless you are fucked as much as Jaraxus without demons. I would say that in 90% of cases it's almost impossible to get top 4 with Tirion.

I think all cards spawned by another card after the battle starts should be able to do a combined max damage of 1.

My first lose playing tirion are not getting hero taunted, it can't die and give shield as i intented.
My second game are insta 1st.
Tirion are broken, they will take out him and replace with brann, until fixed.
They could make that only the original cards that u buy contribute to final dmg. If you only have spawns you only deal your tavern tire dmg. Because the deathrattle RNG is broken.
I was thinking that minions should do 1x damage per minion they killed. As the aim is to build your minions to enormous size and stats, if one minion killed 3x opponent minions, it should do 3x damage to the hero

When tbc comes out I might be willing to try classic too. tbc and wotlk were the only ones I played and Vanilla looks kinda shitty tbh.
the reason I hate soul juggler is because the ONLY counter to it is that windfury tavern tier 6 dude. that's the only counter. and by that time you get him, it's WAY too late.
