Today, I have internally screwcut a screw-down greaser cap for a 1934 Vauxhall water pump. As it was a blind hole, I used an SNL insert holder with an external insert. Cutting on the back of the hole with a normal RH thread setup, but the machine running in reverse. A great idea for blind holes.
Just wondering if the button tool could have been used as a trepanning tool so you wouldn’t have needed to extend the parting tool so deep. Great video John
@@Stefan_Van_pellicom Oh yeah, there is a horrible noise that happens in a situation like that, the death of the job, the mandrel, and maybe the tool. No fun.

Great video John
Parting off the brass ring was brave, "nerve wracking" thats not the words that came out my mouth. Top job.
I was thinking the brass ring would start to turn and clamp his parting tool. 😅
