    the only thing making me panic is that it's the middle of April and I'm still shovelling snow again to find a little hint of springtime!

    Love the sounds of the chickens in the background and the dog barking however, I do miss goats.

    @2:53... I think I suffered a slight fracture in my fingers once, from my carbide-tipped hole saw grabbing into an aluminum pole (yes I was running it "Full Tilt Boogie"!). I vowed: Never Again. It is nice to have an enine for Mocking Up parts and pieces, like the fuel line.

    Bending tube isn’t easy. Good job Jeff.

    Don't have a tubing bender. Can definitely see why one would be useful, though I wouldn't need it much. I guess that's why I don't have one. That and the fact that I just bend things by hand, using a larger radius to prevent kinking. Looks a lot nicer though if you have the tool. Great work. All these little jobs just take up so much time.

    BIG MISSTAKE I THINK ! Lower hose too short, it's supposed to be long enough to be flexible to let engine rock from torque and not strain fuel tubing.

    • @ElderlyIron
      @ElderlyIron  9 месяцев назад +2

      It's vacuum line for the booster, of which the line at the frame is also suspended by hose at the other end, and not rigidly attached to the frame. Engine is a 4 point mount. 2 at the bell housing and 2 below the damper. Engine movement is minimal.

    A metric moment - Our host is dividing 1-3/4 inches he estimated with a tape measure. He says "So half of 1-3/4 is half of 1 plus half of 3/4 which is 1/2 plus 3/8 which is 7/8. True but let's try that in metric. 1-3/4" is 44mm. Hmmm, what is half of 44? Anyone? Bueler?

    • @Jimschrbr
      @Jimschrbr 9 месяцев назад

      That would be all well and good, except here in these United States of America we REFUSE to use the metric system. Besides, when all your rulers and measuring devices are in inches how are you going to figure how long 22mm is? 😳

    • @cemx86
      @cemx86 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@Jimschrbr Funny. 😄 Heck, guys, everything we buy these days it seems can be taken apart with a 10mm wrench. Even our money is metric (do you want 120 cents to the dollar?). The HW store's parts aisle is fast becoming half SAE and half metric. As an AMERICAN I use metric when measuring lots of things. I didn't use to. But it is just plain-jane much simpler. I have swayed some "no metric here" kind of guys by asking "What is half of 3-15/16 inches?" [insert blank look here] "OK, then what is half of 100mm?". [insert lightbulb over head here] OK, I know that this is an example that works out to my advantage. But it gets the idea across. I get it that construction items (electrical, plumbing, lumber) will remain non-metric for quite a while. But not much else is. How about just giving it a try?
