I apologize as a sri lankan for that anuradhapura sacred city incident , sri lankan gvmnt give it free to LOCALS bcz the local kids should learn about their ancient culture and history , and gvmnt think money shouldnt be a barrier for sri lankan kids to learn(in sri lanka , education , healthcare , school uniforms , school text books all are 100% FREE to citizens) so learning about their own culture for sri lankans is provided by government also free,
and this sacred city is recently became touristy, so I think time will solve the problem , thank you for this sri lanka guide...

You don't have to apologize. It is a common practice in many countries. You can try Tajmahal in India or Wat Arun in Thailand for an example.
And, for your records Anuradhapura didn't become a tourist attraction only recently, the place is well known among tourists even before most of the now much hyped tourist attractions become famous.
The ticketing system came in to practice with the declaration of the Cultural Triangle under the auspices of UNESCO and tourists can buy a single round ticket to visit all the sites.
@SomethingToRemember, one more thing, if you cannot pronounce "Ruwanvelimahasaya", keep quiet. Saying "holy f*ck" while displaying the most valuable religious monuments in Sri Lanka is not a good thing.

Loved the fact that you both attempted to name the places using the native proper Sinhala names of the towns, instead of using the Anglicized version of the name such as for Galle pronouncing it like Gaalle (ගාල්ල ) instead of pronouncing it like of Gaule (ගෝල් ). Nice attempt to pronounce it. 😊

Jaffna fort, Nina thivu temple (that temple is in small island)you travel to that island by boat, and another island Karainagar kasurina beach and Karainagar fort that fort is middle of the island you can travel by boat. Asian number one big Library over there and Nallur temple too

It’s pretty normal to not charge entrance fees to residents for attractions. It’s the same for a lot of museums in the US. Visitors don’t pay taxes to maintain these attractions. The residents do.
So you picked out the only remotely negative thing we said in the whole video and decided to comment critically on it… That’s nice, thanks 😅

Thanks for explaining Sri Lankan cultural and archaeological angels very well. This is a part most RUclipsrs simply avoid as most just resort to sun, sea, sand and food.
You enjoyed Sigiriya very well and thanks for explaining the importance of the place versus the entrance fee. Sadly, It seems that you missed world renowned frescos.
Charging foreigners at tourist attractions while allowing locals for free or at a lower fee is common in many countries. (Actually we also pay for all these places through our taxes 😄)
I am a Sri Lankan Buddhist and I tried to enter a Buddhist temple in Thailand for worshipping and they insisted on me playing the entrance fee despite me being a Buddhist trying to pay my homage on a full moon Poya (holy) day. So please be open minded and bear with it.

Sri Lankans live there and pay taxes while tourists just visit. So there is a great difference between a foreigner and a local who pays tax to the municipality. Its same also in other countries.
Well, Each country charges lower for thier citizens while charging more from the tourists. That is not something new. In Singapore I have paid more than double from thier citizen to enter into park as i was a tourist there.In Austraila and also in USA.
Just because it’s common doesn’t make it right 😊
