These men deserved better than their movie career shows. The Ritz Brothers were great at choreography, dancing, all sorts of physical comedy, and they could actually act, and sing. Catch them on Ed Sullivan, and other variety shows, and in some of their classic movie routines. Brilliant, wonderful, talented, funny men. Unfortunately, so underrated. RIP, Harry, Jimmy, and Al, and thanx so so very very very much, gentle souls, for the magic, music, and memories.
I couldn’t agree more! They were marvelous. I think it’s such a shame that they’re so forgotten. Modern audiences keep comparing them to the Marx Brothers, and I cannot imagine why. Burlesque song & dance men, and great physical comedians. Their film career did not do them justice, but they did actually make some great comedies, “The Three Musketeers” is wonderful. I for one love Al, Jimmy & Harry.
