@Jason Perrin RC This thing is so much fun to rip around. I was going to take it out on the dirt today for the first time but too cold🥶 Look who I'm talking to about cold😆
I just got mine the day before and I noticed the body shell is pretty thin so in order to prevent it from cracking, I'm using velcro strips with glue and wrapping the edges of the body that would scrape the ground when its running. Should've done this with my Traxxas Ford Fiesta ST Rally too. Hopefully this prevents the body from cracking with small jumps or just general driving as I love the body and can't seem to find any replacements for it.
What we used to do years ago with Tamiya bodies since they’re the most brittle, is shoe goo with drywall tape all inside. It’s makes them heavier but nearly indestructible.
@kroniksnr You'd have to do some modding with the hexes since 12mm hexes and these tire sizes are not as popular. Motor you could move up to a 2400kv can but I don't think this car needs it.
@Ej Icon EuroRC has them in stock. It looks like the pricing is a little higher than before. www.eurorc.com/product/32746/hpi-racing---wr8-flux-2001-wrc-subaru-impreza---18-brushless-rtr
@xXG.L.HXx I'm glad you wrote this. I used to have people comment "Why do you care there are people walking, walking their dogs, playing with their kids?" Folks have no idea how quick an accident can happen and this turns from fun and play to an assault with injury. The other part of this too, this is how we get banned from locations. It's all about sharing our public spaces safely.
Its about whoever was there first gets to keep doing what they are doing including rc. Surface isnt dangerous compared to rc helis and planes. @ReadySetRC
@S A This out of the box is setup better than Traxxas Rally. The Traxxas Rally before you do some upgrades still feels like a Slash more than a rally car. This just feels right. It's going to be a lot smaller than the Traxxas but after you pull that trigger you forget all about that.
@@ReadySetRC cool cool. Have you heard of any other bodies that will fit the WR8? I already have the traxxas ford fiesta and a tamiya rally tt02 and I am starting to lean more to the larger rally cars because they are a bit more powerful and durable then the Tamiya rallys
@@salmenda That's the downside. There's nothing. Even when they released the Ken Block one there was nothing for alternatives other than a clear body from HPI. I think that is going to be the case this time too.
@Paul Clancy Yeah man, one of the best RC's and the best Rally ever made, speaking for the gen 1 but I'm not seeing much change on this which is a good thing.
best RC rally car ever!
@RC England So true!
Awesome video Neal! It’s a great little car for sure! Thx 4 the shout out my brother!
@Bulletproof RC Anytime Keith! You got me thinking on that Castle setup. I got something laying around just not sensored.

@@shaunescarlett.1 Man it's Christmas all over again😆
Such a great car. Looks so cool with that body.
@Jason Perrin RC This thing is so much fun to rip around. I was going to take it out on the dirt today for the first time but too cold🥶 Look who I'm talking to about cold😆
@@ReadySetRC Ha Ha, yes we have had one crazy cold winter. But that means less snow than we usually get. So that's a plus.
Looks pretty quick!
@Great Lakes RC So much fun whipping this around!
nice run my man
@Fog City RC Thanks man🤘
Mine came from the factory set so well that I didn't need to turn down the brakes or raise the punch up... Have fun!
@William Perri Any issue with your servo alignment? Mine was so off I had to take the horn off to adjust. Quick fix.
@@ReadySetRC No, I definitely remember not having an issue with the alignment. Only RC I was ever able to pull off a 360 On-Road. 😂 😱
@@williamperri3437 NICE!
Let's get it

How do u like how it drives?
What we used to do years ago with Tamiya bodies since they’re the most brittle, is shoe goo with drywall tape all inside. It’s makes them heavier but nearly indestructible.
is it possible to upgrade parts, ie wheels or better suspension or bigger motor?
@kroniksnr You'd have to do some modding with the hexes since 12mm hexes and these tire sizes are not as popular. Motor you could move up to a 2400kv can but I don't think this car needs it.

@@ReadySetRC Thanks. Appreciate the link. Any recmommendations on any other brands that are equal to the performance and quality parts of HPI's WR8?
As a responseble RC'er, I noticed what you did @2:06 mark 👏.

lets see the gen 1 on 3s
@seanek Were you stalking me😆 I ran them last week. It's in the queue to be edited. ***Spoiler Alert*** I really like the CC electronics.
How's it compare to your traxxas rally?

Remember the cold ground and tires could be making it squirrly
Performance looks great 👍
@Paul Clancy Yeah man, one of the best RC's and the best Rally ever made, speaking for the gen 1 but I'm not seeing much change on this which is a good thing.
@Paul Clancy Good point Paul! Trying to remember the temps that day, it was above freezing maybe pushing 40 degrees. Spring can't come soon enough😆
I'd gear it down to 50mph and run 3s all the time.
@Lawrence Timme I was thinking gearing up and running on 2S😊
@@ReadySetRC that would work as well. I think running less amps and more voltage is better for the ESC though.
@@LawrenceTimme This is actually accurate. More volts means less amp draw, at least in theory.
First?......more like 1000th .......it’s nothing new but the body.....🤨🤔
@DOLO BROLIC But you made it🍻 Yup but nothing wrong with that 😊 Gen 1 never really needed much.
@@ReadySetRC 🍻😉👍🏾
Fiesta body was way cooler!
@BASSstarlet That was cool but IMO I'm not holding back from bashing with this. I have the first Ken Block shell and I never even ran it with that😆
