As a black girl chilld I understand. Everybody on my mom side is light-skinned, including her and my siblings. Me and my dad are the only dark skin ones but I’ve grown to love my skin, because no one else will love it for me. I can relate to this! I had a stroke at 19 and doctors did tests and I was diagnosed with lupus erythematosus. I have very thick blood so I take blood thinners every day, and would have to go to the clinic to check my INR. And like she said the sun is her enemy! And if we do go outside we’d have to put on sunblock, but I don’t bother with going outside because of the rashes.

My lupus usually attacks my muscles after organs mostly my: liver and kidneys. I'm fighting a flare right now but it's just my muscles this time. Watching this video made me cry. My best friend had lupus, she had the symptoms, but got diagnosed 6 months earlier than she should’ve been. She had to stay in hospital for weeks. She had to go through chemotherapy, they gave her a shot that wasnt supposed to be given to her. The shot was something that was really hard for adults to take, and that shot made her body burn inside and out. She couldn’t breathe on her own, or have her heart beat on her own. They had to use a machine, and she died a couple months ago. I’m glad that she doesn’t have to go through all that pain anymore, but I cried everyday for 3 months, I may not cry every day, but I definitely cry every month.
This is like my story, I have a very weak body and I am very cautious about my skin. I also was admitted from a mosquito bite 4 times and it was Dengue and Pneumonia, It was very hard for me to live as I also have asthma. I coudn't play with other people, I also have a phobia on needles and it haunts me because I almost died fighting my Dengue because the last time I was admitted that was the scariest one because when I came to that hospital there was a girl same age as me died from the same sickness and I was scared since I have the same sickness and I was very very weak, but luckily thanks to God, Family, Doctors I survived ❤️
You are lucky to find true friends whn u r an introvert.... i stopped making friends coz they only miss me when they are miserable or need something... I learn to live like i have no one to depend too coz even family can be a nightmare💫💫
I think it's just looking different from the rest of the family that bugs her. It might bug anyone especially a teenager who is trying to figure who they want to be plus all the usual stuff that happens when you start to grow up.

I know her pain. I have lupus too. That’s the same way I felt. I have to take medicine every single day. Night and day. But my lupus isn’t that bad because I went to the hospital on time. God I had sooo much pain in my legs and knees. I kept crying so much I tried to keep it together so my mom wouldn’t cry. (I was diagnosed with lupus in December 2018). Now I am doing much better. Yet I’m still taking medicine and still attending my appointments in the hospital
