Don’t be ashamed of your character that looks like the Tick, just remember Crimson Chin still exists and it’s basically identical to The Tick.

I think NB Studios is being too hard on himself. I can see the inspiration in the character design as far as sihlouettes go. But with that hair style, the beard, and mask resembling more of Robin and The Incredibles than the Tick? I don't see how Face Beast looks like The Tick.
@@DemonicRemption To be honest I completely agree, originally I was just making a joke about how The Tick and Crimson Chin look a lot alike but now that I rewatch this I don’t understand how he thought that was a ripoff of The Tick.

To be fair The Tick is literally just The Roach from the Cerebus comics.

The Tick reason for being a hero is just "I'm indestructible and strong so why not fight crime"

One of the many things I love about the animated series, is Chairface Chippendale's plot to deface the moon. Other shows of the time would have stopped the villain before he could implement his plan and maintained the status quo.
Here the "Cha" on the moon could be seen for the rest of the shows' run.
Also there was no way Chairface could fit his whole name, using that font.
Well not exactly later in couple of episodes new villain who is spoof of Galactus bites big chunk of the moon along with letter C.

What I like about the version from 2016, is that it appears that his origin story in that one may be that he didn't even exist until his existence was necessary for Arthur plot armor. That is my favorite interpretation of his origin. He wasn't born. He wasn't an ordinary guy who gained powers. He doesn't have a past. He simply, is, because it's necessary for him to be.

I love how the comic book made fun of superheroes at that time and the Amazon prime show makes fun of modern superheroes

@@leowu988 I haven't even watched the flash since halfway through season 4. It got boring and I was tired of the formula for every season being the same; flash is fastest man, oops looks like he's not now, he loses someone close to him, oh and now he's being framed, he begins either escape or behins taking out the lower bad guys again, then he kills the other fast guy or villain and reassumes role as fastest man.
No social media engagement I’m guessing, you can hardly find RUclips videos about it. The show is ridiculously good.

Without the Tick the Venture Bros wouldn’t exist as Jackson Publick one of the creators worked on both the animated and 2001 version of the Tick and he was introduced to his co creator Doc Hammer by Ben Edlund.

It sucks that Patrick Warburton's Tick run for only 1 season, literally everything about that show ruled
great fun fact: Part of the creation team, involved with the 90s FOX cartoon, the creators of the Venture Bros were involved!
A lot of the niche humor comes from them

The Amazon show is really good. I’ve watched both seasons at least 3 times.
i just finished the amazon series, and while the show itself was good Im now absolutely obsessed with the Tick as a character. In my opinion the actor who played him was amazing at playing the role, although I guess if you were a fan of the other versions I can't really speak in that aspect as I never seen anything else yet. I'm so dissapointed they cancelled season 3, I really wanted to find out if Walter had to do with the creation of the Tick.
as a kid i liked the 90's cartoon. Now as an adult I went back and watched it and... its still better than anything on today. Worth a watch if you ask me.

Met Ben briefly when he was still with New England Comics. I was glad to see him move on to better options.
The fact that originally he beat up beaker and bunson honeydew from the muppets to escape the insane asylum was hysterical

I was in love with the 90's show as a kid. I would go around yelling "SPOON!" at every opportunity. But yeah, none of my friends liked it. I think they felt personally insulted by deflator mouse and american maid since most of them were batman fans. lol
Always liked the tick. Wish the Amazon show would have been renewed. Remember when Spider-man took a jab at the tick in his show?
The Tick & Mystery Men is how it would be in real life. It wouldn't be so clean and perfect, people would have real issues with their powers and personal life.

I hope we get a new Tick, a cartoon one preferably. And hopefully after the Amazon series Ben Edlund's done experimenting with edgy Tick and we can actually focus on the comedy

Haven’t seen it, but Warburton is brilliant in everything he’s done. I’m a Brit and I was surprised to see Serafinowicz in the role, but I think he did a great job.
This such an underrated video and channel, hope he becomes RUclips famous some day or sooner.

Brilliant character, especially in the original comics.
I loved the tick Comics and the cartoon, but the Patrick Warburton Tick was the best by far.
I wish the Amazon series had more episodes. It started off as my least favorite version of the tick (I started collecting comics in the 80s), to my most favorite and still feel like that series only got better and was really coming into its own when they cancelled it.

I have a plastic Tick figure I got in a Happy Meal years ago. It's always fun to take a trip down Big Blue Memory Lane.
Amazon show is amazing and not gritty. Its just more plot based, still fucking ridiculous though. Love it so much.

I think I used to game with Ben... I loved The Tick from the get go, and I had the original comics. Until a "friend" stole them and sold them to Bop City Comics. Ah well.
The Tick from the comics is definitely my favorite version. Sucks to lose the original ones.
Couple years ago I found several issues of the New England Comics Newsletter, including the first appearance of The Tick. Sold them for hundreds and hundreds of dollars! 😋

The Amazon shows is almost doing it realistic and acceptable but one thing is wrong: Tick's eyes and retina are never supposed to be visible, they're supposed to look like he's blind. Can't they do CGI that hides the eyes?

@@peterberg3446 Yes. In the first Tick comic book series #3 titled "The Night of a Million-Zillion Ninja". The Tick and Oedipus (who is a dead ringer for Marvel Comics Elektra) are hiding out in her mansion. Then, all of a sudden, a hedge mysteriously appears surrounding the house. Despite the "hedge" only consisting of ninjas holding a tiny twig and saying, "We're a hedge" the disguise is so ingenious that everyone falls for it.

in the picture at 1:24 Ben Edlund is wearing a Venture Bros shirt! He wrote and directed season 2's Viva los Muertos, the only episode of the Venture Bros not written and directed by the showrunners, Doc Hammer and Jackson Publick. Jackson Publick actually got his start in TV writing working on the Tick cartoon.

I was so bummed that Zombieland didn't get picked up from Amazon Pilot season. I loved the movie and it made more sense as a TV show. Though I also voted for Tick and thought it was great.
