Lovely looking Toyota van. Toyota offered a van like this in the USA back in the 80s. This has a better looking front end than what was offered here in the USA.
The Toyota Van was the LiteAce model that preceeded this one. They should have given us this one instead of inflicting the Previa on us. I'm sure it was a completely competent vehicle, but God, was it ugly. That entire egg-on-wheels/melted candy-bar look was a total turn off.
It's a 30 years old Toyota van, but still running good as today's brand new cars. Awesome technology from Japan.its turning light signal 📶 sound still remembering my childhood memories. Engine sounds pretty good as past
here in the Philippines, we called it the Toyota LiteAce GXL produced and sold locally from 1989 'til 1999 and is decently packed: -power steering -front power windows -central locking system -power side mirrors -standard rear window defroster -standard rear wiper -standard rear spoiler with 3rd brake lamp it's mated to just one engine spec option: -a carburetted 1.5L OHV 8-valve 4cyl. gas with just 70 horses @ 120 Nm torque -mated to a single box, a 5spd MT with only Rear Wheel Drive -but despite the small motor, it's still decently quick: -at 92 MPH top-speed
@@andywear5176 It's just any spray silicone, there are a ton of options at any of your local hardware stores or Lowes, Home Depot. It isn't a sealant, it's comes in cans like spray paint. Get some gloves, get yourself a rag, spray down the rubber.
It shouldn't be the same van you saw, we import all our own stuff and I assume ATL JDM does the same. Somehow it did end up on eBay about a year ago with the person selling it lying completely about where and how they got it.
I’m not sure if you’re still replying to comments or not, but what is the difference between this, the townace, and the Masterace Surf? I’m looking at the masterace quite a bit but I’m not sure what the differences between this, the townace, and the masterace are. Would you mind shedding some light on that?
I am far from an expert, but from what I've learned the top end van you could get would be a Masterace Surf. It will be the most plush and fully-featured LiteAce-derived van you can get. Townace will be essentially the same van, but if you have a choice go with the Masterace Surf. Also, go for the manual transmission, *especially* if you are going with the diesel engine. The diesel with the automatic is quite slow, at least with the 5 speed you can wring more performance out of it!
Nice to see this vid, but had to stop watching when you got on the road. Your driving technique is atrocious and dangerous! Hands all over the place, hanging onto the gearstick, or not even on the wheel. I wouldn’t film myself if I drove like that! Otherwise, great van.
I like the way it fits easily in a tight parking spot. I have one, and this video has made me realism how I underuse it.

@@cubdukat I actually loved the Previa.I was disappointed when it was replaced by the front wheel drive Sienna.

Very informative video thanks
I love this video man, and Land Cruisers. I work at ACC garage, Toyota Lexus and Land Cruiser.
17:33 that's one savage quote right there 🤣 made my day
these are awesome
Fun fact: Toyota used this engine, buffed it a little and throw it in their Toyota Unser.
great vid, thanks for honest opinion, answered a few of my questions. I myself am 5-10, looks to be enough room.
So I bought one. '93 Liteace. I am however looking for the silicone sealant you talked about to keep the door rubber in good shape.

@@KakerMix ok thanks, I checked the local automotive stores and nothing, I didn't consider hardware stores. I'm on it :)
Excellent review
I also have a funny feeling this is the gxl that used to be at ATL JDM

Japan
did they make automatic transmission on those?
It looks like our van xd
Any ideas on where I can purchase this exact model and colour?
Just have to wait and watch until one shows up.
Petrol engine or diesel engine?
Mr.John he said petrol
Can this van change to auto gear ?
You can get them in automatic, yes.
Why would you do that ?
@@toyotanerd2269 People like different things, I wouldn't personally choose automatic but some people like it. Most people going by sales figures.
Its engine is 5k, it has LHD version in Philippines
This particular van looks like it has a 2Y engine though from the engine bay shot.
James Mike in my country it has 5k engine with settings of Carburetor which used in auv as well. Cheap and fuel efficient
are you selling these @kakermix ?
