    I was today years old when I first heard one of my favourite scotches pronounced klin-elish instead of the American Klein- leash, sounds right, sounds better

      I find authors of that era and before very difficult, but Chesterton is the one I have read a few of.

    Apparently I have been mispronouncing "Clynelish." I've been saying "Kl-eye-n-leesh". I wish they had more or a core range but apparently most of their production goes into blends. Compass Box frequently uses Clynelish in their blends.

      @@KildaltonTheologicalStudies it’s a nice dram. Didn’t blow my hair back but it’s a nice winter Whisky. I’ve given up on getting the pronunciations correct and just lean on my guttural brogue to blag through it…

    What rubbish about Thurso, You sound if you're from the south of England and the north of Scotland is near the north pole.
