The 2014 version looks extremely pretty but the expressions feels too overly glamourous with the eyes and blush marks. The 2010’s faces looks more like real teenagers whereas the 2014 looks more like 6 year olds
But wouldn't make more sense if the blush marks was there? I mean it's snowing during the song and when it's cold your cheeks starts to get all red and stuff.
Prettier CG/animation in 2014, but the 2010 ver gives it more of a vibe, like "the bittersweet feeling of love waiting to sprout from a teenage girl's heart", dunno how to put this feeling into words tho (*edit: this is also shown among the 9 girls in the full ver of 2010 pv, like Nico on the train and Maki in the classroom with her phone, etc. In the beginning of the pv it is also shown that they "do not know how to name this feeling", which is the main msg conveyed in the 2010 ver) The honk "todokete" solo in the 2010 ver shows it, but in the 2014 ver, it's just pure "moe"
I was about to write the same thing. 2014 is overall visually much better in terms of animation and character design, but 2010 have more feelings to it. The inclusion of real life scenes really makes a differences and in some case, the choreography is better. However, I try to keep in mind 2010 was a MV, meaning it was there to tell a story, while the 2014 version is basically a rendition of a live show. To some extent, I feel the nice lighted arches in 2014 may be too much in some scenes. In my eyes, if the visual qualities of 2014 could be blended with the vibe from 2010, it would be a perfect world.

I believe that was always part of the choreography (they did it during live performances even before the 2014 version), it just wasn't shown in the 2010 MV because the group wasn't on-screen at that moment haha.
i think the fact that 2010 is set on the street without a pretty massive stage adds to the "bittersweetness" of it all. But in terms of animation quality theres no competition, the raising hand to ear move in 1:45 is iconic i cant imagine snow halation without it
@@tennojiberri lol compare every anime that uses CGI, all of them are so bad (Mappa has actually done a good a decent job with Zombieland Saga and SNK) but in my opinion Love Live has the best CGI in all the anime industry. Is like if you were animating on 1's to accentuate what's going on. LL makes a great job at bending 2D and 3D

1:47 this is the best part to me... Honky is so expressive, blushing and at the same time with her eyes wet, whether it's the weather or she has a fever, her expression looks very pretty and makes you fall in love with her when you listen to her!
I prefer the 2010 because the expresions give me a feeling that they really love what they have experimented during their journey and are greatful for all the moments. I see passion, strength and love for all the time being together. In the 2014 the expresions are weird. I dont see gratitude, I see happiness (but a different hapiness like just going to the beach and having fun) and some sad barely criying faces (what's this expresion? 1:11 and 1:47 ).
I've always preferred the first art style for LL, so the 2010 ver of Snow Halation (along with Natsuiro Egao de 1 2 Jump) will always hold a special place in my heart. They just look like their age, not too overwhelmed by blush and highlights; it captures the theme of the song perfectly.

The special stage uses the original version (Anime version stage might have been GPU-heavy for mobile devices) SS uses orange lights from SIP after the chorus instead of yellow from original MV SIFAS' camerawork at 1:02 chose to focus on Hanayo (SIP) instead of Honoka (Original)
It's so hard to choose. I love the fluid animation close ups in the 2010 version, but I prefer the art style and lighting differences in the 2014 version. Aaaaah, they're both so cute!
I like the background of the 2010 one better (without the extra clips like showing them in their daily lives or etc.) But the animation of the girls are better in the 2014 one. I believe if you missed the animation of the girls in the 2014 and the background of 2010 where they're performing at, it would be perfect.
The 2010 version tell me a story and i really like that. You can see both the joy and pain they feel having to leave their memories behind and start a new beginning. 2014 is good but nothing can beat 2010 for me

2010年は、人の動きを表したような純粋さがある。2014年は、アイドルらしい輝きと観客を魅了する力がある。個人的には2010年だけど、どっちも魅力がありすぎる。結論はどちらも良い。
It's so hard to choose. I love the fluid animation close ups in the 2010 version, but I prefer the art style and lighting differences in the 2014 version. Aaaaah, they're both so cute!

I like the background of the 2010 one better (without the extra clips like showing them in their daily lives or etc.) But the animation of the girls are better in the 2014 one. I believe if you missed the animation of the girls in the 2014 and the background of 2010 where they're performing at, it would be perfect.

The 2010 version tell me a story and i really like that. You can see both the joy and pain they feel having to leave their memories behind and start a new beginning. 2014 is good but nothing can beat 2010 for me
