Not sure why people complain about these bikes, finally a review showing how good of a job Kawasaki did. Never when I'm exploring dirt roads or cruising through town or even on the hwy, do I think, man I need more power. It's actually somewhat spunky in town and really fun. So fun that I recently bought a 22 with 71 miles on it and now I'm at 5600 miles and it seems to have gotten smoother. I would definitely buy another one

I guess possibly if you've never owned the high end european adventure bikes we don't know what we are missing.BUT,at the same time,I enjoy the purchase price, years of proven reliability, dealership networking, and large aftermarket support of accessories, simple and straight forward maint. All good reasons to own a "budget"KLR.thanks for watching!

@@scottdavis9318 I have no desire to own a KTM anymore. The KLR is one of my favorite bikes to own now. I'll put 20k into an investment property or something that is an asset, not in a KTM b/c I'm insecure and want people to think I'm a god b/c I have a KTM. You have to remember, nobody cares what you ride, only you. You could be on a mini bike or a top of the line BMW, but once you pass by, whoever may have seen you, instantly forgets all about it and goes on with their life. Only ride what make you happy b/c nobody else cares

Nice bike, all those years telling you the KLR was the bike to have!! And of course, you do not disappoint, giving a good laugh, at your expense, testing the engine guard bars in the shop 😂😂. Might be able to hook up some “landing gear” set up so that won’t happen again, outside of the controlled environment. Good thing you didn’t get MJ to help stand that bad boy back up, or you just aren’t ready to ride with the big boys yet!! Great extras you added, probably would have gone with larger side bags, but they will do for now. Hope to get up there this year with the boys for some off roading!! See how time permits. Great vid!!

Thanks for the Great review, down to earth and realistic. My next bike will likely be a KLR now that they have the S model out. I plan on replacing my KTM 790 adventure with something more suited to my slow 'scenic' riding style, but can still handle dirt and gravel while loaded down. as far as the kids saying "lack of power" makes it boring, i already know what "boring" is like, i also have a V-strom ;-). enjoy the bike.

I've looked at the KLR s , and like it . I had already bought the royal enfield Himalayan 411 before the KLRs came out . The price , easy to work on , gas mileage , handling , on road off road for me was perfect . If I had seen a KLR before the Himalayan, I may have bought one . I like kawasaki anyway . I very happy with the Himalayan .

Holy catfish, I've heard horror stories about how expensive it is up there. I bought a 2024 KLR-S two weeks ago, the new bike and my 1999 Harley Electra-Glide is $105.00 per year U.S. dollars (liability insurance only). I love the bike haven't even rode the Harley since I bought it. I did the thermo-bob mod. at 100 miles but will wait for the warranty to expire before doing the "doo-hickey" mod. Enjoy yours.

I noticed that you had a wedge under the side stand. I bought one of these (in the same colour) and I noticed the side stand is a little short so I bought a side stand extension. I also bought crash bars, pegs, USB connection, low profile drain plug, and Tusk panniers. My previous bike was a RE Himalayan. You were complaining about the weather. My 2012 is all around a nice bike. I haven't loaded mine down yet. I got a smaller front drive gear to keep the RPM's down during highway speeds. I hope it doesn't take away from the low end too much. First is very good so I don't think it will.
