The last one about the colon, n quotation is the same with us....two statements, closely connected. That's what I use a lot. I have to make notes about this comment. Good information.
Why would the use of a colon be utilized instead of a period? Just curious. I was always taught to use periods whenever necessary. Just wondering why a colon would be used here.
I've noticed something that I am unsure of in your video: at 13:10 there is a comma between "hard" and "and." I was reading the information on Purdue OWL and read that you should not use a comma in-between two verb phrases inside a compound predicate. Wouldn't this count as one since the subject is sharing two past-tense verbs, or does the explicit subject in the second clause make it something else, despite the subject still remaining the same? As a side note, thank you so much for these videos: they've renewed my interest in English and taught me way more than I could have learned on my own!
Onthe contrary, on the one hand , in fact, why are these considered conjunctive adverbs. As a result....what do they mean in this context. Then, thence? Failing that I know....TY

Will you be adding any new videos? How to identify sentences that are not punctuated correctly.
Hello,
Request your guidance on , how to avoid using "please & kindly " while writing official emails, without sounding rude.
i learnt a lot
can you tell me why I have been told to write "by:" in front of my signature on documents?
For some of those details in the advanced list and usage of the semicolon, wouldn't you just use parentheses?

-I need to use example sentences to illustrate punctuation, but I can't think what to write about.
-How about the holocaust?
-Of course! Thanks, man.
ohhhhhhh

Merci. Consider not pronouncing the T in often.
Using the holocaust as an example sentence was... not the best choice in terms of taste.
