@ fair. There are reasons we end up scripting vs. not scripting various videos and some of it comes down to recording times. With full time jobs and an infant, we often end up recording at 10pm or later. Scripting means we can read and is much, much quicker when we are exhausted after long days. When time is a factor, this sometimes factors into our decisions. That’s not to say that this drives all of our creative decisions. Some videos lend themselves to a casual approach rather than scripting. Some, we feel, can go either way. With this one, time was a factor for a variety of reasons, so, we went with this approach, but still feel like we got across the major points we wanted to make. But I understand how this approach can come across. Point taken.
@@Illumiteers I can see how it may "feel" a bit scripted (which may lean some to mean not as authentic) but the fact you tested the lorcana logo, found it had issue, then told the viewers is an excellent demonstration that you are offering real views on the products. As someone who used to review hundreds of products on RUclips and would do the same, kudos to you.
I dig the binder. Personally as long as the binder can hold a set, that’s great. Deck box is cool but the counter feature isn’t a big positive for me because I’m set on using the app
I would have been much more onboard if the gold wouldn't scratch off. That just feels like poor product testing on their part and I'm going to have to pass on it. Thank you for the video though. This was the first review I had seen on it.
@@MrLemonaiden that could work but I would be concerned for how it would make the binder feel over time. If it was something I wouldn't handle often or slide into a backpack that may be worth considering.
Both are immediate no’s for me, for multiple reasons. When it comes to storage and protection, I’m much more pro function-over-form. From that perspective, these don’t really hold up as there’s either better quality or better value options out there. For the deck box specifically, the lore counter is fine to exist but there’s no value there for me as I’ll never use it. If I’m viewing it correctly, the deck box is 100+ count instead of 60+ or 80+, and that’s just wasted real estate and material. I can pay less for something that will ultimately protect my deck with a better fit. And the foil highlights, while nice looking, scream “scratch magnets” to me. If I’m specifically looking for something generically Lorcana for visibility purposes, then these might be the buy for me. It’s rare that I’ll ever look for such a product with keeping it in a museum in mind, though, so yeah…definite pass.
Holding 100 cards seems so weird. A deck is 60. Let me hold 120 so I can store 2 decks, or make it smaller and let it hold 65-70 max. Too much wasted space. Also, the case should have had a detachable coin or something for using on the lore tracker. Just lots of misses here. Hard pass.
@@fightinsightpodcast so, 100 cards double sleeved is standard these days because of Commander in MtG. So, basically what happened is Ultra-Pro reskinned a design they currently use. I don’t mind this call so much. Double sleeved, there is a bit of wasted space, but, you don’t have to cram the cards in there. I’ve seen this criticism, but, I don’t mind that decision so much. It doesn’t feel bad. Not sure how a detachable coin would work…but some other companies build a tray in the bottom to store dice and things. Could have done that, I suppose.
@Illumiteers thus the issue i think many of us take with it. The re-skin makes it look taylor-made, but it's not. It's lazy and doesn't respect the source material.
This felt like an infomercial for lorcana products over being a review.

Cheap spray can of matt varnish will prob solve that issue if you do change your mind.
