Ouch $800 just for the part? You could've gotten it from s1partscenter.com for $300, shipping included, and it's OEM. I'm glad the video was helpful! Sometimes it's not easy to record things well when working on this bus due to access issues.
@@WideAwakeTravels yes just the part $777.80 original, aftermarket may be cheaper but owner was willing to pay the price for the original. Thanks again your video is going to help many more people
Thank you for this, I am trying to diagnose my 98 international dt466e skoolie that will randomly start some days and other days will not start at all, no matter how much ether I use. This video was very helpful fingers crossed I find the issue soon.
@@johnM-Jr no just Instagram or Facebook. I'm no diesel expert. I'm still learning things but if they have questions about injector replacement I might be able to help
That's gonna be an issue with the high pressure oil system leaking down when the oil gets thinner. Possibly an Injector o-ring, or other failed component in the HPOP system
I have the same issue except I can't start it at all. Just one day stopped starting. Initially I thought it was a fuel issue since I let it get pretty low but adding fuel and priming the hell out of it didn't work. I got more than 1/4th in the tank. I checked the IPR valve and o-rings seemed to be in good shape as well as the connector. However, I didn't unplug the ICP sensor since I couldn't locate it. I have the same engine but a 98 and I think it's under the engine head cover. Yours was in a location easy to spot like out in the open?
Yeah it's on the left side just below the engine valve cover, above the fuel filter. Check this diagram ww2-secure.justanswer.com/uploads/yellowman99/2010-07-13_181113_IPR_picture.jpg
@@WideAwakeTravels Good to know. I might try and fill the fuel tank up or at least add a good amount. Don't think that's the issue since I can't even get it started using starting fluid either. Then I'll try and replace the IPR valve. Might see if disconnecting the ICP sensor gets it started, if I can locate it Does this diagram apply to my 98 dt466e? If it's by the fuel filter in plain sight I'm gonna be pissed! I've been overlooking it this whole time. How did you diagnose yours? Thanks
@@adictiveadictive I think it does apply to yours too. It wasn't very visible for me either, it was behind wires. Good luck. Definitely unplug the sensor before you replace the IPR.

You’re the man. I don’t understand why your video don’t have a larger following. All I know is that I really want to see this get completed.
Thank you. We've taken few month break from working on the bus, but will soon continue and hope to finish it this year
I just replace ipr.valve almost $800 at international dealership it fixed the problem thanks to your video thanks for your help

Bus looks great! Hope it continues to run good for you. 👍 You put in a lot of work on it, time to start enjoying your hard labor.
Thank you. I hope so too. This issue caused me to start having anxiety whenever I drive it haha

Do you know the part # of the cam sensor for that engine?

Is there a cheaper scan tool to use instead of pulling flash codes
Yes, search online for "cheaper alternatives to nexiq".

It was a bad IPR

Also, the o rings looked good on my IPR when I visually inspected them, yet IPR was the problem.

Use silicone gel on o'rings. Parker brand o'ring lube. Engine oil only works for oil filters. Parker lube is some lifetime lasting stuff
Good tip
@@WideAwakeTravels that is just a good start, all o rings have a specific lube for their specific place.
