  • In this travel vlog we'll share one day of our trip to Southern France. We spent a week in October 2021 traveling through Southern France. We started in Nice and did a few day trips before renting a car and driving to Verdon Gorge, the largest canyon in France, and Moustiers Sainte Marie, one of the most beautiful villages in France. Both locations are incredibly beautiful and should be on any Southern France travel itinerary.

It's a cute town! Is it the prettiest? Hard to say! It feels like every small town in France has some beautiful charm!

Like what is even the rubric that they grade the beauty of town on? There’s probably a lot of opinion/preference involved. Like they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Although it is fun to claim you’ve been the most beautiful village in France haha

I've been there and it definitely is one of the most gorgeous villages in France. I would recommend ordering the magret de canard dish at Les Magnans, it's sooooo good!

When driving to the Gorge du Verdon what’s the best place to park + what do you put into maps?
Where is the best place to pick up the boats from too?

When we went we stopped for views from the bridge first and there’s parking on both sides of the bridge. We parked in the lot on the side by the boat rental and it isn’t marked on google maps because it’s small so it may be full depending on when you go. I included another parking option for the bridge.

And then just around the corner we went to Activité nautique to rent the paddle boat and they have parking there:maps.app.goo.gl/t7pVe4wW94779ZyX6?g_st=ic

If i have 3 day trips to make from nice which ones would you suggest? I'm guessing Monaco, Eze & Mention?

    • @AnyoneCanTravel

If you don’t want a rent a car that is what I recommend. Our first day we also stopped by Villefranche-sur-Mer which was beautiful and is very close to Nice too. If you wanted to see Verdon Gorge you could drive up one evening/afternoon and stay the night and then see the gorge and Moustiers the next day. Eze doesn’t take a full day so you could see Eze in the morning and drive in the afternoon. Of the three you mentioned Mentón was my favorite, then Eze, and then Monaco.

Are there like small tour busses that take ppl from the same hotel to the destination and back? I'm curious since I can't drive 💀😭. Another worry is where to leave my belongings when I get there. Ppl who go there with car can just leave their belongings in the car.

Hi! Yes I found this one on Get Your Guide that picks you up at your hotel in Nice and then takes you back. It doesn’t look like it has time for you to go in the canyon on the paddle boat or kayak but it takes you to the overlook and then to Moustiers Saint Marie and some other spots as well. You should be able to leave things in the tour bus if needed.

Thank you! This was actually our third time in France, but we’re always amazing about how beautiful every town is! The food is great and I really enjoyed seeing some nature this time too which isn’t what people usually associate with France. Happy travels!

Can’t really decide from your video if Moustiers is one of the most beautiful villages, as you just showed rooftops and a church!

I think it’s pretty hard to tell from a video either way, but thank you for your feedback.
It’s a small town and there are definitely various videos of the streets and buildings, but the views from above and waterfalls are pretty spectacular and part of what makes the town so beautiful.
