On a side note, this series is pretty cool to watch and it helped me a lot. Not only I learned how to play them, but I was really lost in the meta after not playing HS since Naxx release, so knowing the common decks really helps me to understand how to counter them. Currently I'm playing with a Mech Shaman (I had to dust a lot of shit to make this deck), Zoo and also Patron Warrior (because Grim Patron is really, really cheap to make). Patron Warrior got boring really fast though, but I'm having a lot of fun with Mech Shaman and Zoo and I currently reached rank 15 for the first time. Feels good.
I know they're not the same as Face Hunter and Eboladin but they do end up rushing you down. And Mech Shaman, with a good opening and a bit of luck, can win on turn 3 without killing a minion. Isn't that what SMOrc is all about?
Edit. Another important card sub in the deck is to swap shade of naxx for druid of the flame. The druid is better against aggro with the 2/5 form. While shade works against control/ slow decks since he can just sit and grow to big sizes.
Lucien Antoine Quentin Pannatier Long time ago Harvest Golem was also played in ramp to stop aggression. Druid of the flame is better than harvest in most cases but who cares since without Aviana ramp druid sucks
Lucien Antoine Quentin Pannatier Can vouch for Druid of the Flame. I play it in ramp instead of Shade. It's a really good minion to innervate out on turn 1 as well as coin wildgrowth out on turn 2. I rarely use it as a 5/2 though, even if it's innervated out. Since there are a surprising amount of ways to kill it on turn 2.
Paul McConnehey I very strongly disagree. You can't play MCT turn 3 for full effect and you gain zero benefit from wild growth-ing or innervating it out early. Especially considering most 2drops can trade 1:1 with it. Playing it later on to make use of its battlecry is pointless, you're playing a ramp deck with much better options than MTC later on. In a midrange druid deck, sure, go for it. But MCT doesn't help you survive the early game like shade or DotF do. Which is extremely vital in a ramp deck. The DotF is also there to fall back on when you don't draw into any of your ramp cards early. MCT simply doesn't provide that same level of safety.
I played arena for the third time in my life yesterday. The last time was over a year ago and I got 3 wins. Now I got 8 wins with an okay draft. I just wanted to thank you for your teaching trump. :)
Like most terms jn hearthstone, Ramp comes from mtg. It's not actually that your mana is being ramped but it is named off the mtg card rampant growth, which was one of the first ramp cards made
The name Ramp actually comes from Magic the Gathering (like most of the Hearthstone terminology). t comes from the card Rampant Growth (which does more or less the same as Wild Growth does in Hearthstone.
Kezan Mystic can be another game changer against Hunter and Mage in this deck. Also tends to piss em off which is a bonus. Ysera can also just win the game for you if you can hide it behind taunts. Ramp druid is wrecking ladder for me right now, especially in the 10-15 range with all the aggro.
+x1teDota (I couldn't hit reply to your comment, so here I guess) He didn't wrath for 1 on the keeper because of a few reasons, he already had a play for the next two turns at least, so he didn't need the card draw at the time. By keeping it he also has flexibility for future turns, he could use it to kill something behind a taunt or deal 3 damage instead of having to resort to trading. On another note, having 1 more card in hand has psychological effects on the opponent, because they don't know what your hand is. They know you probably have two wraths in your deck, but they don't know if you have it at the time or not, so they might play around it. It turns out here that it didn't matter, but it's something to think about. Basically, it's good to use your hero power more if you're already ahead and don't need to use all of your removal. Only wrath for 1 instead of hero power if you are actually looking to draw cards, don't just throw away removal.
It would be nice if you also showed a budget version. Even if you didn't play it, this series is for newer players as I understand and you can't expect them to have the legendaries.
wondering why you didnt feature stuff like echo mage, combo priest (kolento) or aggro paladin (I can see why you didnt pick this one in order to avoid redundance due to having featured the similar aggro decks listed already). fantastic series though, my favorite until now, that you finished. ^^
This is a comment/question to everyone and Trump. I was wondering if there are cheaper card replacements, particularly for the cards that come from the Solo Adventures. I'm working hard to save up gold for them, but in the meantime would like to play this deck. Thanks in advance!
Tolik B You could consider replacing sludge belchers for fen creepers (or another Druid of the claw). The other cards such as zombie chow are important for the deck to survive early vs aggro so they are hard to replace. Possibly harvest golem or spider tank instead of the shade of naxxramas (again not a great replacement). Thaurissan helps get those big minions out easily and Kelthuzad solidifies the board incredibly well so I think they need to be in there too unfortunately. I have been facing a tonne of mages and hunters recently, so I would swap the BGH for a kezan mystic instead. Overall I would recommend building a combo druid deck for now (if you have those cards) while you wait to unlock the adventures. Some decks simply dont work without the key cards.
Tolik B Another good replacement for shade that you missed is druid of the flame. The 2/5 body early game is great for aggro, especially if you don't have zombie chow. on top of that it has the ability to be a 5/2 late game behind a taunt to trade into bigger minions. Over all i think its an underrated card, but shade is really solid in Ramp and a must have in Combo.
Gralof Gaming I didnt mention that because Druid of the flame is from BRM which he said he didn't have yet. But yeah you are right, it's definitely a good swap vs aggro.
I'm sure most people know this, but the reason why you call it ramp in the first place is because of the card "Rampant Growth" in Magic, which is very similar to Wild Growth in HS
I think about some variation for this deck with newcard Aviana. Yes, I know its not actually strong card, but i wanna try. The idea is playing wild growth and some midgame defence cards and when i will have 10 mana crystals play Aviana-Innervate-Kel'Thused-Ancient of War-Lotheb and next turn just playing some big cards which will be cost 1 mana each. I think this Ramp base will be good for this deck, but i cannot decide what exactly i wanna replace for Lotheb and Aviana. There is not so many way to deal with KT and Aviana at the same time when i have 5-10 taunt on the board and Lotheb, but i know how weak it sounds. Any ideas?
why do you value a 2nd sludge belcher over a 2nd druid of the claw? i view the versatility of dotc which can fill the same role and is not as weak to silences to be more potent.
I just got Cenarius today from a pack but I'm still missing a lot of cards such as Harrison Jones, Sylvanas, Ancient of Lore, Ancient of War. No way I can do a Druid deck without good cards like that.
BanditoPlays Harrison Jones, Sylvanas is replacable and will work quite well. But Ancient of Lore and Ancient of War is 100% required. :( if you got Force of nature and Ancient of Lore then you could try a midrange druid instead and skip the Ancient of war aswell.
Sad that you nevershowed a heal from the ancients - I know it is better to draw Cards in most situations, but if you fai to get the taunts against aggro, the heals can sometimes buy you the time to stabilize.
For this Deck wouldn't the Joust Mechanic be better than the Zombie Chow because the chances of drawing a higher card than your opponent be better than a guaranteed 5 Hp boost for the enemy seeing as though the curve is so much higher then a normal deck?
Hey, one question, how does Trump calculate the gold you need to make this deck? Because 42 packs doesn't look enought to me to get exactly that legendary and epi cards. Thanks
I'm curious how the "gold cost" for the decks are calculated... They don't seem to make sense to me... 42 packs is going to get you 7300 dust? In what world? Or is it based on arena plays and expected rewards somehow?
+Jesse Finnerty its the cost of naxx and brm wing, which are 700 gold a wing. 4200 is 6 wings. you need all (5) of naxx and the first one of brm for emperor thaurissan
William Green OHHH, right, I forgot... the cards that can only be gotten from the adventure mode... I see, so it's that much dust AND that much gold, I get it now... thanks.
Poifix I prefer 2 belcher 1 DotC personally. The 1/2 ooze is more annoying for aggro decks to deal with than a 6 hp minion. The belchers are weaker to silence though so it's whatever you prefer.
That is true I guess but the charge mode is only really viable if you can lethal with it, which isn't very often considering you'd also be running combo in that case. Or you could charge to put them in range of combo but, again, that doesn't happen very often. Every other time you just put it in taunt mode. It is basically a taunt 90-95% of the time.

SoccerSnipez I'd not run it - even for 2 Mana. It can get silenced, it can get stolen and used by the enemy (worst case) or it can be timed so well that it causes an overdraw. Also the effect isn't immediate, so you just spend 3 mana for filling your board with a dud. On the other hand it counters Patron warrior, flamestrike and hellfire, not to mention swipe and consecration... Edit: And all other aoe like flurry and nova
I've always liked Ramp Druid but unless the meta game calls for it (witch it rarely does) Savage/Force combo Midrange Druid is almost always better. Hopefully Darnassus and Aviana gives this deck the boost it needs to be tier 1 or 2 again.
Draconys I use combo but removed cards like AOW. SO yeah it's kinda hybrid but it still works pretty well. I found it give more options. since you can use it for removals or to combo him down. So have more ways to win.
On a side note, this series is pretty cool to watch and it helped me a lot. Not only I learned how to play them, but I was really lost in the meta after not playing HS since Naxx release, so knowing the common decks really helps me to understand how to counter them.

At 11:46; is Innervating and then playing double Wild Groth a bad idea and if so why is it a bad idea?
I'm sure most people know this, but the reason why you call it ramp in the first place is because of the card "Rampant Growth" in Magic, which is very similar to Wild Growth in HS
The manacurve just looks like a ramp. Getting more mana makes that curve, the ramp, look steeper

suggest taking out the shades and the shredder. Replace them with another senjin Drake and a Mind control tech.

Is sneed's old shredder a good replacement for cenarius?
What is the reasoning behind shade instead of druid of the flame?
Just got Cenarius from a pack and I've been thinking of making this deck. Although I have no ancient of lore or war. Which one should I craft first?
+Neil Provido
Definetly Lore, it's a card that can't be replaced. Ancient of War can be substituted if you really need to.
+Neil Provido Lore no doubt. War can be replaced with the basic ironbark protector.
trump can you make tutorial for control mage? the deck with duplicates and the 1/3 taunt that deal 1 damage but not with the ecko of medievh.
if i don have naxx what would be a good replace for the beltchers and the zombie??
I replaced one of the wars for a sunwalker, because it is really good with KT and as sticky as war. What do you think?
I've seen Bloodmage Thalnos in older versions of this deck before. Why do they not use him anymore? No space in the deck?
+Евгений Булгаков He does the same job as Azure drake I think ._.
A one of Tree of Life is also a good tech. it's saved me a couple times against Hunter and Pally :)
Stinso NI Yeah that sounds like a good idea, back in the day I also put in more heals like earthen ring and the 3 mana heal for 8 spell.
Hey, one question, how does Trump calculate the gold you need to make this deck? Because 42 packs doesn't look enought to me to get exactly that legendary and epi cards.
Thanks
The gold is calculated by the adventures. One wing of Naxx and BrM cost 700 gold and he uses quite a bit of cards from them.
Alex56541 Okey! Now I understand! Thanks!
Felt weird having only two matches for this.
"Ramp" comes from the MtG card Rampant Growth, it's not a literal or figurative ramp.
Why is there a gold cost on the deck? Can someone explain the reasoning behind that? (Is it just avg dust of 42 packs...?
would you change all of this decks with new cards? it'll be really interesting and helpful)
I never understood the Gold Cost on the top left. If you can only craft cards with Dust, where does the gold cost come from?
Adventure cards
I'm curious how the "gold cost" for the decks are calculated... They don't seem to make sense to me... 42 packs is going to get you 7300 dust? In what world? Or is it based on arena plays and expected rewards somehow?
+Jesse Finnerty its the cost of naxx and brm wing, which are 700 gold a wing. 4200 is 6 wings. you need all (5) of naxx and the first one of brm for emperor thaurissan
William Green OHHH, right, I forgot... the cards that can only be gotten from the adventure mode... I see, so it's that much dust AND that much gold, I get it now... thanks.
... so as I was going to find the gameplay, I skipped over some footage twice, all I heard was.. "RAMP DRUID. RAMP. RAMP DRUID" "DRUID VS DRUID"
What can i replace for Cenarius?
i dont have harrison and i have been matchin up againt a lot of control lately, can i switch ford for black night?
Would u do aggro mage next, please? :)
Did trump play hand lock in casual earlier today on stream? I think I played him
+Sir Gray IV How many battle tags are there
Why is Shade of Naxxramas only used in Druid?
I dont like that its only one druid of the claw. Its to strong of a card not having two.
Poifix I prefer 2 belcher 1 DotC personally. The 1/2 ooze is more annoying for aggro decks to deal with than a 6 hp minion. The belchers are weaker to silence though so it's whatever you prefer.
JayJa Vu
I like two of both. But i dont know what to take out for another druid of the claw.
Poifix 1 Senjin, 2 Druids, 2 Belchers, 2 Ancients of War and Cenarius. Do you really need that much taunt?
Chris Daley
Druid of the claw is not only used for taunt my friend.
What's the major difference between token and ramp Druid?
Hey Trump,
why didn't you double wild growth turn 2?
I play a dragon ramp druid, works great, includes things like nourish, cromaggus, blackwing corruptor, and ysera, ysera is great in ramp druid because if you get ysera awakens on turn 5 (2 innervates) or turn 7 (1 innervate) the opponent has absolutely no chance, since ysera dodges shadowwords, and bgh + abusive
that new druid spell would be great in this
Wich one?
the add 10 mana card
+Josh Sharp I don't think that, discarding your hand is terrible
Why Shade? You don't have Savage Roars in this deck
You can play it early then when it grows it can easily get a 2 for 1 for only three mana
Milkeon The Cute shade is often not always used for savage roar, its a common 3 drop in druid because its slower but fits the 2 for 1 theme. if it was only used for the common savage roar combo it would never be played so early.
Can I put Dr. Boom in the deck instead of Cenarius??
Jag vill bara vara cool
IJWTBC Lyrics Yes.
IJWTBC Lyrics Well it would be the only minion that would be vulnerable to bgh, and from that i remember this deck tends to avoid 7+ damage, but yeah sure you can replace it
+DeltANT21 k bry polarn
IJWTBC Lyrics i do and it works good, cause i don´t got cenarius until now..
Out of curiosity, why is Shade of Naxxramas so good with Druid in particular?
Its a great body for fon savage roar combo.
There for you could swap it out for druid of the flame
FELCommentary
Like he sad in the video, in Druid the games tend to be pretty long, so you can drop the Shade early on and have it grow, to trade it into a big threat later on.
I wonder if Trump is going to do a Control Pally teaching video.
idk why you wouldnt run force savage when it reliably gives you at least 14 damage burst which can easily be increased to over 20
Why didn't he Wrath to draw a card at 9:00?
I'm early... better think of a joke!
My skill in Hearthstone.
morgan mango You missed the joke
+Jelmer Herms i missed it HARD

I think a funnier one would be your English.
Handsome Kiddo 'Skill in Hearthstone' would've been a good joke as well, no need for the extra word.
+Handsome Kiddo ya my jokes are a joke :(
damn, is Cenarius replaceable? or should i make another deck?
Holy shit I just realized you haven't done freeze mage yet...
is it ever worth it to play your second wild growth say, past turn 5?
*****
At first i read the comment and was like "yeah ok that makes sense", but then i noticed your name.
Why 2x shade when you don't run combo, can someone explain?
if you innervate it early out you would have a big minion and its pretty much a threat in the early game
Combo Druid or Ramp Druid?
Even Hybrid?
Which is better right now
None of them.
Hey Trump can you do aggro pally next pls?
Trump, can you make another iDraft teachings after the release of TGT?
What about Ramp Druid (Shaman)?
Why Shade if you don't run combo?
What's a good replacement for Harrison?
Ooze or loatheb.
for druid its a second azure drake
ooze
I like this deck but never seemed to get a profitable moment to use thaurissan so I ditched it. I mean most of your card draw is endgame after thaurissan.
Man, I wish Trump would have shown off Ramp Druid (Hunter) I've never been able to play that deck yet and I need help.
I just been wondering how exactly does Force of Nature interact with Kel'Thuzad? If the Minions are killed they will respawn at the end of my turn but they still have the effect that they will die at the end of my turn? So what happens then? The same is when they actually survive my turn in the first place and die from their own effect. Will they still respawn? Has anyone ever tried that?
If they die by trading, they get revived if they die and don't trade. That's what I remember
+Let's see how long usernames can get,I guess they can pretty damn long like really long Ah I see. Thank you for explaining
Thank you Trump!
Is this the last video?
9:33 he trades in savage roar for 4 damage to face?
Iowfrequency And takes 1 himself in the process.
Randomly I just got an idea for a sweet new card... It should be a 3 mana 0/1 (so it can't attack) death rattle draw 2 and heal your hero for 2
Seems bad
SoccerSnipez so it's like an arcane intelect with a priest hero power? not that good
+Vltor Alessio 2 mana? Or to Op?
+SoccerSnipez I don't think it would be too op
SoccerSnipez I'd not run it - even for 2 Mana. It can get silenced, it can get stolen and used by the enemy (worst case) or it can be timed so well that it causes an overdraw. Also the effect isn't immediate, so you just spend 3 mana for filling your board with a dud.
On the other hand it counters Patron warrior, flamestrike and hellfire, not to mention swipe and consecration...
Edit: And all other aoe like flurry and nova
What decks are coming soon?
what should i switch with harrison?
Trump master of words: In the Early game you re pretty much always looking for... the early game :D
Dont get it why there is not atleast one Savage Roar in this deck
what on earth does the gold cost mean, you cant just buy full decks or specific cards
***** The Adventures (Naxx and Blackrock) 4.2k means: you need to buy 6 wings. Although I only count 5 Naxx/Blackrock cards. hm.
Is it good to innervate to shade? on turn 1
Hell yes. You want to get those Shades out as fast as possible for the longer they're on the board the stronger they get.
Oscar Johansson It generally is, but it depends on the rest of your hand. If you don't have good follow up you might consider keeping the innervate.
+DrScaphandre ty i am new to ramp so just feed me tips ^^
thats pretty much the reason shade is played in druid decks
What can ı replace with Cenarius?
I've always liked Ramp Druid but unless the meta game calls for it (witch it rarely does) Savage/Force combo Midrange Druid is almost always better. Hopefully Darnassus and Aviana gives this deck the boost it needs to be tier 1 or 2 again.
What do you mean when it cost 4200 gold?
Hey, can you replace cenarius with Dr Boom?
As trump said, dr. Boom would be only cart that can be bghable.
Jan Vašíček Yeah, too bad i had golden cenarius but disenchanted him to make jaraxxus :(
The Incredible John You can replace it with that but since it is BGHable you can also consider added another 7 plus health minion in ragnaros.
Jmaculas IV Thanks, ill think about it
Is there a huge different between Midrange and Ramp
Well yes for example ramp doesn't run the combo wambo
***** Well, you could use FON/SR in ramp aswell or if you play a combination of the two decks. It works quite well.
+MeldinX2 if you use combo and ancient of war its not really a midrange druid anymore..as trump said its more a hybrid druid
Draconys I use combo but removed cards like AOW. SO yeah it's kinda hybrid but it still works pretty well.
I found it give more options. since you can use it for removals or to combo him down. So have more ways to win.
I cant beat illidan any tips?
