No, they did lot of different things, but could not do something totally different than Toyota or Lexus, except that this is unfortunately for the Japanese brands much better than Toyota and Lexus for build quality (the ex best brands for longevity and build quality of their different models), but now Honda and even Nissan do better than Toyota and Xpeng and Nio do better than them...
