As someone living in Copenhagen where almost every single bikepath is raised, i have to say it drastically improves safety for the riders, absolutely worth it.
Yeah but no one in the UK actually uses cycle lanes. Not even cyclists. They prefer to just ride on the road, for some reason. So raising it was a completely useless waste of money, as it probably went from 0 daily users to 0 daily users.
Because the cycle lanes in Copenhagen (and Amsterdam) is much better and safer. And if it is only for a short distance like shown in this video, it is not always worth the convenience. But they got to start somewhere.
@@runarandersen878 personally I'd not ride a bike on the road in the UK because it's far too dangerous for many reasons - bad roads, narrow roads, busy roads, pollution, shared roads, overtaking, and more besides.
Not sure which bit of the UK you mean, guess London? But cycle lanes are heavily used where I am.. would love them to be more segregated from cars..

Hi, the reason why they raised that bike path is that its the end of the 4th qtr (financial year) so all councils are out doing pointless jobs to spend their budget so they get the same budget next year, its a crazy spend it or lose it system rather than rewarding council's for coming in under budget. That is why we as a country is broken.

Sometimes the roadworks you see isn’t the totality of what was done. They could have been doing service work and then replaced with raised lane after. Our council is slowly doing this. Any roads replaced have dedicated and raised lanes. It’s a hodgepodge for now. But someday it will be all the same.
Could you come deliver in Loughborough it’s usually very busy on the weekends, Fridays and Mondays.

With engine bikes people can hear you behind them. But with electric, noise is minimal and probably why probably why people are walking in the street in front and can''t hear you coming. Be careful.
4:50 the segregated cycle path is safer, this encourages more people to use their bikes which means less traffic for you to have to negotiate around. It's a win-win!
Exactly. Not sure if raising it is better than putting in a separator (which is usually what we do in the US since it's generally more visible but it's more dangerous if you clip them, especially the concrete ones, but also provides more protection from errant cars). A vehicular cyclist who rides in traffic professionally isn't the best judge of whether this is necessary...

Been trying for past few weeks to become a rider for deliveroo myself, lost my job few week ago an would love to be riding my motorcycle round all day. I know its daft to some but to me you doing one of my dream jobs lol. But deliveroo say I need passport to prove as a English national that I have the right to work in the UK an keep rejecting the paperwork I can provide. Keep dreaming I guess. Keep up the content it's great stuff.
Every now and then you deliver to the old walk up flats I remember in London. Cramped, basic little places. I used to know people that lived in them. But then so many drops to these more modern fancy looking buildings. Often with a doorman. Lot more expensive to live in. Not sure what the doorman is supposed to do. Some old fella isn't security. Just sit there for hours and give directions. Creates more jobs for those winding down I suppose.

It’s my first week working with Uber eats and was bad, I just got 166£ working like 8 hours for day at Tottenham hale - wood green, any advice? I need to pay the rent.
I used to work there untill recently, tottenham retail park, far too many drivers waiting around burger king. And wood green has become a little community centre for riders. My advice is to go east! Walthamstow, ilford, stratford. Far far busier, literally chicken shops everywhere. Made £100 today in 6 hours with ubereats and deliveroo. If you go further east, you will get a lot of high paying doubles that will take you to the thames river. Deliver there, then come back to east or go to whitechapel. Do not accept orders that make you cross the river, stay on one side of the river. Also in east london the order is ready 90% of the time and they dont ask for bag, never go to mcdonalds/kfc.

😂so many long trip past customer order from Deliveroo & now they all switch to ordering from Foodpanda orders again right!😊 Bec too many complant from Deliveroo Customer due to very very slow in Delivery & very very low paying to Riders nowaday. That is why customer all start orders from foodpanda😊

Deliveroo gives the same job to 2 riders so technically they should split it, although I found in the past if I got there after the other rider they’d taken the whole lot… if that happens still go to the customer as normal and explain what happened so you still get paid 💪🏻

He has a point though. When those two were having trouble with the bicycles, there was literally a couple walking in the middle of the road in front of them, despite an empty pavement right next to them. Proves his point exactly about people just wandering around like NPCs paying no attention to their surroundings.
