Anyone else a fan of the skullhat youkai's design? I wonder what she is...maybe not a youkai, but a necromancer? Her minions do seem rather zombie-like, and she seems to have no issue with them being disposed of so easily.

She's not really immortal, she's just not allowed to die. There's a subtle difference. The Hourai elixir is the distillate of Kaguya's power over eternity. She'll never die, and her body is left immune to disease and will return to its pristine state if it becomes damaged. Just like how Yukari is only 17 even though she's lived for thousands of years. Functionally there's very little difference, but her existence is fixed in eternity like Jack Harkness from Dr. Who.

It's been a while since I've heard caved though, and I thought it was just an English version of a bad Japanese translation but I guess caved is famous in Japan too. :D

I really like that the original characters in here seem believeable in the Touhou-verse.
They're noya's(video creator) own created youkai and she gave them names too(I think it's mentioned on the original Nico Nico version of the video). I figure they may appear in future videos or at least on her pixiv account.

@Shintear True, although their base models are obviously Yukari and Suika. Looks like they just took them and gave them some adjustments for faceless villains #1 & 2, although they'd be pretty cool alternate costumes for the two.

Even though I'm anti-smoking IRL, Mokou can smoke any day in my book. She looks really cool that way, plus it suits how she canonically doesn't care the slightest about her health.
She's immortal so she has no reason to care

Idea:
On one of her spellcards, she turns into Hakutaku, dashes through the lower part of the screen, grabbing the enemy on contact, then she hits him with the horn, and returns to human form.

Wow. Just wow. It's plainly stated in multiple sources (IN, CILR, SSIB,) it has nothing to do with "distilling Kaguya's power" or whatever. The elixir (invented by Eirin,) grants true immortality, something the Lunarians do not permit despite being unaging "pure beings." And Yukari is canonically 1200 at least (Perfect Memento in Strict Sense.) Maribel's recorded ventures into Gensokyo have taken her to different times, but always herself, a human, usually fleeing from youkai when it happens.
D: Ah, she still feels the pain. xD It's just that no one can ever tell her "SMOKING CAN KILL YOU!"

@I0IIiP0p she cant control fate, that would be remilia. normally she can only conceal history, only on full moons can she manipulate history. she is about as powerful as you say during full moons except without the fate/immortality part although she could probably change history so that she was not mortally wounded assuming she has enough strength to do so after being wounded.
@MaronaPossessed ya know, outside of fandom alone, zun has never once alluded to mokou being the one that was smoking during that forest fire.. it could have been kaguya since mokou claims to be a health nut ;)
@Night4ce1 @experienced5 true she is a health nut... she did say so... but that speculation of her smoking really raises a question mark on my part because she did mention it during Aya's interview saying something like cigarette littering thus giving ideas about her smoking... and besides it makes her much more of a badass than she usually is... and cute at the same time

@experienced5 As a cos-player of Mokou and a fan of Touhou for 3 years.. The smoking thing is all fan made.. Mokou is a bit of a health nut.. You do have the tom boyish part right on.
Keine is like Commander Shepard; she protects humans against the combines and youkai and her most powerful weapons are HEADBUTT and [Right Hook]

Original characters. Perhaps Noya wanted to avoid making actual canonical characters out to be the bad guys. Think of them as human-eating-youkai A and B.

Look over your sources again. Eirin and Kaguya worked on the Hourai Elixir together, and it's not immortality it's being a fixed point in eternity. It's a medicine derived from Kaguya's ability to manipulate eternity.
As for Yukari's age, you totally misunderstood me. I was trying to provide an example of the difference between immortality and other similar concepts.
