Allan Caidic was right! Atoy Co was the best shooting guard in the 70s and early 80s kaya nga siya ang nakaunang naka-5,000 and 10,000 points, 1979 MVP, 1976 Pro Basketball Player, 9-time Mythical-5 from 1975 to 1984, partida wala pang 3-points noong 1975 to 1979, napag-champion niya ang ang Crispa 13x including the 2 grandslams (1976 and 1983). For me it's 1. Atoy Co 2. Allan Caidic 3. Bogs Adornado
I was born 90's era na. swerte nung mga naka abot sa era nila Atoy Co kahit papa ko sinasabi sobrang galing daw tlga nyan nila Atoy Co eh.
pinakamaraming moves si atoy co......70s pa lang yun pero moves niya way ahead of his time like fade away, jumpshot on the run, pivot moves, undergoal and 3 point range kahit wala pa tres.

Noon, NOON ha. C Atoy Co lng ung tumitira ng 3 pt shot w/o rebounders sa ilalim. Kht xa lng magisa at 3 ung kalaban, titirahin nya ung 3 pt shot. Ganun xa ka-confident na papasok ung bitaw nya. Bogs was a sweet shooter. Deadly sniping. Now, we have so many great shooting guards. In the 80's, there was caidic, magsanoc, ricky brown, calma. The 90's produced alapag and so many more.

During the late 70s and 80s no one can compare abt the versatility of bogs n atoy bihira cla mgmintis, sa guard yan. Sa forward c guidaben n mvp nung 83 at 87 at fernandez n 4x mvp , sa center c villamin at reynoso, in 90s ayan n c alvin "the captain lion heart" patrimonio, lhat ng games double double yan, and trigger man caidic, paras, magsanoc, codinera, lastimosa, abarientos, agustin, asaytono (they forgot the contribution of asaytono in philippine basketball) dapat nasa top 50 pba list cya. Dami nila nung 90s...2000 ala na it was invaded by fil-ams and you cannot see the excitements in the game because its commercialize.

Adornado was more of a small forward and not a shooting guard, Atoy Co is the real shooting guard.

Ang daming magagaling like samboy,duremdes,meneses,miller,hontiveros,caguia,atoy...akala ko c james pero ni research ko c adornado sa google,and i thinks bogs is the greatest
Bogs wasn't even a shooting guard, he was a small forward, numero 3. First five of Crispa in 1975 - 1976, when Bogs got first two MVPs, Bernie Fabiosa, point guard, Atoy Co, shooting guard, Bogs Adornado, small forward, Philip Cezar, power forwards, Abet Guidaben, Center. After his injury in 1977, his spot was taken over by Freddie Hubalde, another 3. When he returned in 1979, he became a second stringer, but still played 3. When he won his 3rd MVP in 81 (perhaps, the greatest comeback in PBA history), he still played 3. You could say that nowadays, 2 and 3 are near equivalent positions (swing) but it was not so during Bogs' days. It is like saying that Dr J or Mark Aguirre is the greatest shooting guard when clearly they are identified as 3s.

Bogs plays mostly on 3, so as Allan Caidic. Arnaiz and Florencio mostly on 2, Jawo and Ricky Brown on 1. For me it should be Atoy Co.👍👊👊
Imagine Ricky Brown, Atoy Co and Allan Caidic played together for Great Taste in 1987.
For me the best shooter in the PBA is Mr. Jun Papa the Rifleman from Asia
Allan Caidic was the PBA MVP in 1990 not 1991. The 1991 MVP went to Alvin Patrimonio.

IMHO the greatest PBA shooting guard was Adriano "Jun" Papa...He got the monicker "Rifleman" because of his great shooting accuracy-- that the moment he released the ball, the scorer statistician would already record the points in his favor..."i lista mo na" sabi nga nila noong panahon ni Papa..

Mark caguioa might not be top of the list but he carry the load of a declining pba after jawoski retired , ginebra is pba's biggest market, and mark caguioa brought pba back to life, influenced the next generation after him won multple rings, could have won multiple mvps , and he was unguardable in his prime, can post up, pull up, catch and shoot and drive to the basket , his loud mouth and playing style are perfect match to what the fans and pba need at that time , he was a polarizing figure you want to see him even if you hate him,

Si Adornado ang idol ko at ang susunod ay si Arnaiz. Sa Hawaii ko sila napanood maglaro noong papunta ang Philippine Team sa World Game na ginanap noon sa Mexico kong hindi ako nagkakamali. Ang naka laban nila ay mga ex players ng University of Hawaii. It was a good game but unfortunately ay natalo ang Philippine Team sa University Of Hawaii Team. Kaya ko naging idol si Adornado kasi mahusay siya sa outside shooting na jumpshot at magaling din siyang lumusot at kayang kaya niya ang mg reverse layup.
Magaling si Bogs at si Atoy pero si Alan yun pinakamagaling na shooting guard para sakin.
Si Bogs small forward siya d naman siya shooting guard. Pero the best talaga mid range game nya.

Si bogs ang number one until now wala PA aq Ganon NakitAng MAGLARO. Walang off night, very consistent MAGLARO, hinde bumababa NG 20 pts pag naglaro. Noong 1975 to 1976 na hinde PA sya naiinjured Yun ang the best adornado, hinde Nila kayang bantayan si bogs kc sigurado gragraduate sila pGnagfake sigurado sasabit ka.
That's exactly Magsanoc's point here. Yung consistency hindi on and off. Kung pulso ang paguusapan, iba talaga yung kay Bogs Adornado.

Kaso si caidic pagnabantayan na hinde na makagawa. TULAD NG Laban NG Philippine team at south Korea. Hinde sya makaporma higpit NG bantay sa kanya. Unlike si adornado mauubos sa foul ang bumabantay dahil sa galling mag fake at magpasabit.
In those days, the positions were Center, Power Forward, Small Forward, Shooting Guard and Point Guard. Bogs was always the Small Forward, not the Shooting Guard with Atoy Co as the Shooting Guard.
