These could be the best paintings Baselitz has made,the surfaces have more of a fluidity and richness in texture than most of his earlier work.

I tried to plan a trip to Washington DC to see the Baselitz retrospective but couldn't afford it.
So disappointed. I'd seen his work in Munich.
