What is Policy Evaluation?
Policy evaluation can be better defined as a process of determining the quality, effectiveness, impact, and cost of a public policy; and assessing whether the objectives, and whether goals of such public policy have been attained.
Policy evaluation is a series of activities, as well as measures, to investigate, the effectiveness of the public policy interventions, its implementation. &, the various processes which have been undertaken to get to the end goal.

TYPES OF POLICY EVALUATION
There are 5 most common types of Policy evaluation, namely;
1. Formative Evaluation;
2. Process Evaluation;
3. Outcome Evaluation;
4. Impact Evaluation; and
5. Cost-Benefit Evaluation.
BENEFITS OF POLICY EVALUATION.
1. It can help governments improve the design and implementation of public policies that, in turn, can lead to prosperity for their country and well-being for citizens.
2. It can enhance the chance that the policy goals and objectives are being achieved
3. It assists in determining costing for implementing or not implementing such public policy (both in value for money and resources to be allocated, as well as the cost of not implementing or continuing with the implementation of a public policy)
4. It can also identifying areas of improvement in order to provide the best service possible
5. Policy evaluation can also contribute to promoting public accountability

According to my opinion, impact evaluation consider to evaluate all the changes after the implementation of policy but outcome evaluation consider the wide range goals which we are predicting to achieve it after implementation of policies , this is actually goal specific that evaluate by the comparison of before and after the impacts of implementation.

In Impact evaluation the evaluator focused on how subjects reacted to the implemented policy .. it is a type of evaluation which is conducted during policy implementation while on the other hand outcomes evaluation is a type of evaluation which is conducted for the result that is achieved after the implementation is completed ... Outcomes evaluation only shows success or failure while impact provide mix data regarding policy
