Hey I think that it is very important to mention (also for you) to put a kind of Gauze under the cover/roof because mantis's legs can be hurted or cutted off by the metal mesh!
    Regards

Love the video! I have the same exo terra for my giant asian but keep the hood light on top because my room gets a bit dark at times. Do you think that's an issue ventilation-wise? I know these tanks are made to have good ventilation but I still worry...

Thank you! It’s a great little Exo Terra! Because the canopy covers the whole top i would say it might be an issue if they are still small and needing to molt. The ventilation helps make sure it’s not too humid and helps them dry out after a molt, so I’d recommend trying to keep it off as much as you can. Or moving your mantis closer to a window 😊 If they’re an adult I’d say it is less of a worry because there’s no more molts but keep a check on the humidity 😊

Good to know, thanks! I'll try keeping it off when it's light enough and keep an eye on the humidity

Where do you pkace the thermometer in the terrarium?

In exo terra tanks there are holes at the top for you to be able to place the thermometer sensors in the terrarium. I kept these near the top as that was where lola spent most of his time 😊

Should i get an enclosure like that before i get one or should i buy a small one

    • @exomantis4017

Always start with a smaller enclosure with a younger mantis. If they do fall while molting you don’t want to fall too far and hurt themselves. ruclips.net/video/xz0iqqy5m6w/видео.html check out an older video to show what Lolas old enclosure looked like before the upgrade!

Is L2 to young for small crickets?

Yes, I would stick with fruit flies until they are a bit bigger

@@exomantis4017 thank you! Last question. My mantis molted 3 days ago and is now an L4. I found him today frozen in a weird position almost like he was molting again. Like he was frozen in the position and I had to kinda tap his home a bit to “wake him up”. I feel he wasn’t molting as its way too soon- but I can’t understand what it was that he was doing? Do you have an idea? It was creepy. Now he is good & active and being normal. But he has done it 2x so far.

So I found the answer to my question. It’s how he sleeps. He is a weird sleeper lol
