Hey Richie I miss you bro.. I grew up on Hobart ave with you and your Bro. Used to play whifle ball 4 corners on la salle and hobart. I knew you had the tattoo store on Tremont but didnt know your living in Europe. Good Luck and be safe man Long live your ART on the 6 train
I'll be honest, I've never been a fan of straight up graffiti style pieces on canvas. Graffiti will always look best in the street. However, these canvas pieces SEEN has been doing are actually really cool. There's no reason that a graffiti writer moving into galleries has to continue writing graffiti only doing on a canvas. I appreciate the fact that he's not letting himself be confined to a graf style, and instead is creating new concepts, working in abstract, sculpture, etc. Anyway, whatever this fucking legend wants to do is up to him, SEEN FOREVER.
Legendary. Too cool. One of my favorites. Gave me a Woody first time l saw Subway Art. Inspired THE WORLD! He's the Wonderer. Thank you & Chalfont. You inspired a whole generation. Philly loves you all.
I grew up in the 80s inner city kid myself from New Orleans anyways I remembered and followed this for this decades even when Subway Art and Spraycan Art was published by Henry Chalfant and Martha Cooper for getting all that raw footage that SEEN, so many others in that book before 1990 when I had both books. It was well documented too I got into graffiti at a young age and still do it to this day, im also a traveling tattooist!
According to Phase 2 seen painted the 6 line . The 6 line was not a recognized line like the 2 and 5 lines . Seen was put in the spotlight by two non writers Henry and Tony Silva . They also put super Toy cap in the documentary . The documentary is called Style Wars ,so why did they put a styleless toy in the film . Seen hates breaking and rap . Henry and his friend highlighted the writers they could work with . Legends like blade and Tkid didn't want anything to do with the film because they were still active .
