This just popped up in my queue. Thanks so much for posting this video. Remember watching this as a kid and my parents and I were in tears from laughing so hard.
Phyllis talked about this in an interview before she died. She said that Tony was mortified that he had caused her wig to come off, and wanted to re-tape the scene, but she refused because, as a comedian, it was one of the biggest laughs she'd ever received.
I used to work as a production assistant (on TV) and I can truly imagine how to director, the cameramen , and the control room staff were all truly laughing out the lungs!
Thanks Ana, this was great. I remember seeing Tony Orlando in person many years ago. I know about the way Tony felt about Freddie. Freddie Jr. talks about being close to a few of his dad's friends, but I haven't really read much about Tony and Jr.
That was such a tragedy. When Freddie committed suicide he changed the lives of all of his loved ones. I think a light went out in everyone who loved him.
Priceless blooper. Phyllis D. was a real trooper.

Thank you so much for sharing that. It truly does show how remarkable of the comedian she was.
@@michaelbenton1434 And how much a good sport she truly is! Both professional and gracious. A true lady full of class.
Those were the days
Siempre fueron muy bellas ellas

The lady co-hosts were so poised and gracious upon handling the "wig malfunction". 🙂
