LOL, I'm the same way. I try a lot of set ups during test lives, but then when I'm playing there's always something I want to tweak. Plus I get some great suggestions on builds in the comments 🙂
Glad O could help you out! Yeah, I do like the new attribute and corruption part of the set up now. Makes the game more challenging and fun to play again.
Good point, but you do have to get to that level, and some people who have been playing may already have a cursed piece of armor (like my Black Feather Helm) or a cursed weapon in their vaults somewhere.
The helmet is the Black Feather Helm, and it is a cursed item. There are several cursed items that have been in the game all along, and some people may already have them. I go through where to get it in my vid here ruclips.net/video/31vFBAO3h_Y/видео.html As for the Soul Essences, you will need to progress in Sorcery to the Sacrificial Alter where you drag unconscious thralls to either drain them of sacrificial blood, or drain them of their Soul Essence (you will need empty glass flasks that are crafted in the casting table). Its a bit confusing at first, but ask any questions and Im sure the community here can answer if I cant :)
Do you have any newbie guides? I just started playing like a week ago. Last night I died from the cursed wall and lost a lot of my stuff. I also lost some stuff from people looting things outside of my base.
I need to work on something like that, but for now, I can point you to my 12 hr fresh start stream at ruclips.net/video/U9IMDKgbCts/видео.html if you want to see how I started from scratch again with the 3.0 release, no mods, but its just my playing single player. It might give you some pointers to focus on (certainly not expecting people to watch a 12 hr recording.. lol.. but it was fun to stream it on day 1). If you are playing on PC, come on out to our discord and hop in the conan channel to get server info to play with the OGs. Its PVE, so less crazy to learn on. Everyone playing is chill and always happy to help out new players :)
LOL good question! It's the new game dynamic that has different perks loosely aligned to the new sorcery aspect. Basically it's a different build for characters where you sacrifice half of your health and stamina for "more powerful" perks.
There is a setting on my server called ThrallExclusionRadius and I have it set at 100. It can be raised or lowered to allow for closer placement of thralls. I dont believe there is a similar setting within the game, but there is a mod called Thrall Radius that will reduce the distance between placed thralls.
Thank you for the answer. I have a private server I set up that myself and some friends play on. I need to do this, as I really want a harem of dancers in our clan hall. :)
@@aarontyler69 then Id think you should have that setting available. I use Gportal to host the OG servers (Conan EL, and Siptah, Ark, 7 Days to Die and Atlas currently running.) Come on out to the OG discord if you'd like to have some fun with us :) We are a pretty laid back group and all the servers I run are PvE.
@@OldGamerzNeverDieI might just take you up on said offer. We just started on my private server after getting our proverbial feet wet on a live one. The one thing we hated was no mods could be used as that was a deal breaker for us. We also tried co-OP but that tethering system was pure agony. We're really enjoying the game though, and it's quite insane just how much there is to learn. I'll definitely look into modifying the thrall radius though, sadly the mod you mentioned seems to need an update. I think I can do it via console commands though. Thanks again!
@@aarontyler69 Yes, my friends and I went the same route years ago.. tethering is a nightmare. And I understand about the mods being out of date. I run EL and Siptah unmodded (but with boosts) because it seems like every tweak Funcom does, it crashes one mod or another.
For me, they are not, however I do often run with the first one or two perks in Authority corrupted. Depends on you play style more than anything else.
Armor has been reworked so that it adds buff (depending on the armor set). Some give you more carry weight, some give you more health, better agility weapon damage, better heavy weapon damage... Id say you can check the wiki for all the ones that give you buffs, but the wiki is woefully behind. Maybe something to put on the list for another review vid like I did for the food.
I tried to use teleport last night after the patch and it did t allow me to use it after another. Did they put cooldown on it or am I missing something mate?
@@OldGamerzNeverDie I don't need to relight it as far as I know. But Jo it didn't work again. It says "You can't travel right now". Let me know when you try mate
Not relight.. but there are torches on the "spires" around the teleporter. When I came thru andleft the orb (orange glowy thing) those torches would be out. after about 10 secs they would come back on, and then I could teleport again.
If you have corrupted some of your attributes, that corruption doesnt go away unless you clear your attributes and start over WITHOUT corrupting anything. If you havent corrupted any attributes and your corruption wont go away by either 1) being around entertainers 2) drinking cleansing brews or 3) eating a Heart of a Hero (regular human hearts dont remove corruption... but I hear they are tastey with some Fava beans and a nice Chianti) let me know. Not sure which issue you are having.. interested to see how it turns out :)
Not sure what you mean. If you can join the OG discord and post some screen shots of your issue, in the Conan chat, either I or someone in my community may be able to help. Are you on console or pc?
Do you have to have all 4 perks of an attribute before you start corrupting yourself? Can’t I just get the second uncorrupted perk… then raise my corruption level to take the corrupted version of those perks I just took?… instead of having to complete an entire attribute.
You have to spend attribute points so that you can corrupt them.. but.. you can spend 5 to get to the first perk, then corrupt that perk, then spend 5 more points to get the next uncorrupted perk and you can corrupt that one. So.. you can corrupt from left to right as much as you want, but you cant jump around in the tree to skip over one to get to another... You CAN for example... corrupt all but the last perk in Authority, and chose Fast Learner that is an uncorrupted perk and run that, giving your thralls (or zombies) extra health and bonuses, instead of corrupting that last perk and getting Demon Lord (which for me... was not worth giving up the Fast Learner perk)
@@OldGamerzNeverDie Thanks for reply. …. Okay. So it sounds like I have the option to obtain the second perk and then I can corrupt authority to the second perk without having to “unlock” the entire authority tree. Right?
@@LCInfantry Correct. You can corrupt any attribute points you spend on the uncorrupted side, you just need to have spent the points, be heavily corrupted when you want to "corrupt" them, and have enough soul essences in your inventory to do it.
corruption has no cost, corruption is the cost itself. edit: i honestly think they should rework corruption, the concept is very interesting but the way its implemented is a bit bland.
LOL.. yeah.. It does feel a bit like a "bolt on" in some ways. I AM having fun playing again now... after about a 2 year hiatus, but I think thats more because of the attribute and thrall rework and the added events.
Kind of where I ended up. I have friends that run corrupted builds and swear by them, but I've not been that impressed. I suppose it all depends on your play style.

Why does your head piece give you corruption? How did you get the soul essence? Still confused….
you get the soul essence bt dragging a knocked out thrall to the sacrifice altar thing and extracting their soul
The helmet is cursed, there are certain weapons and helms that are cursed and give you corruption.
