I am going to invest in learning to become a charismatic story teller. I never realized how important this is until Eric caught my attention and I stop to listen to both of the videos. Now I understand being an intelligent Engineer is just not enough. Learning to capture someones attention and hold it is an important skill for selling ideas.

I love making notes these days and eric's talk forced me to do that. His talk is so valuable . THANK YOU so much♥️♥️
    Below are my notes.
    Eric Edmeades
    PART 1:
    1) Always have fun and give fun.
    2) Tell stories
    3) Make the audience laugh in first 30 seconds of your speech i.e. start with a predictable laugh
    4) Never tell anyone that you are nervous.
Never let the audience feel you are nervous even if you are.
    5) Take full deep breaths , it makes you feel safe and you can more be YOU.
    6) Use different methods to make the talk interesting i.e. engage the audience
    7) Always approach strategically with definite objectives
    8) Plan and predict the reactions of audience
    9) Give them value through your speech. Give them what they want.
    10) Use your eyes in soft gazing way
    Part 2:
    stage effect
    1) The quality of your speech and size of the audience tells how much people will be attracted by you.
    2) when you address a group of people you make a lasting impression whereas you meet them in person you have less to share and people barely remember you unless you are marketing etc.
    3) stage effect has immediate and powerful return in financial terms.
    4) become good at speaking at conferences where people with variety of interests are present. Your target is to use broad spectrum appeal that is to grab the attention of highest amount of people.
    KEYS
    - tell stories because they trigger emotion ( for broad spectrum multi layered)
    - no emotion no memory
    - find the common thread between the audience
    Delivery
    1) Be who you are so that you can form a heart connection with audience
    2) Don't be afraid to forget your speech, if you can engage them they will tell you where you lost
    3) You already are a good communicator
    4) Three types of
    • Visual ( loud , fast )
    • Auditory ( better pronunciation , careful )
    • Kinesthetic ( feelings, long pauses )
Use the charisma pattern to form the crescendo. Start from kinesthetic to visual.
    5) Speak to the audience in a language they want to hear and they want to hear all of the above three.
    6) Nervousness and excitement have same effect on you and to convert nervousness into excitement have pictures in your head.
Nervousness is excitement about scary things. Excitement is nervousness about cool things.
    7) Belief eats evidence to grow.
Always believe in positive things and you will start spotting the evidence and once you find a evidence your belief grows.
People you might want to know after this:
    Tonny robbins
    Martin luther king
    Robert plant
    Lose yourself by eminem
If you think i missed something. please let me know that would be really valuable.
P.s. - now i just want to one thing before i do anything
I want to become a public speaker

    How to become a master Public Speaker;
    *Use the charisma curve*
    - start at Kinetic, go up to Audible and occasionally go to Visual in order to engage the whole audience. Audiences are usually thermostats, audiences usually follow a scale from K-V
    *Learn the art of storytelling*
    - Use youtube to see archives on great speeches
    - Use a common topic that everyone in the audience will be interested in
    - Intentionally forget things to keep the audience engaged
    - Create suspense and climax to make your story more memorable, even if it is a presentation on numbers

"Emotion is the glue that causes memories to stick." Amazing quote.
The information needs to be delivered in a story format. When it is delivered in story format it is memorable.
Broad-spectrum appeal it starts with the recognition that story is the ultimate language it's the ultimate operating system for the brain.
    No emotion no memory.
What is the common thread of the audience.

The first time I notice you was wearing short-Eric, I wanted to change the vid, but I couldn't bc I haven't finish painting. That was an interesting story, Wendy. I'm curious why you, "wanted to change the vid," just because he was wearing shorts?
I would imagine you believe a speaker wearing the proper business attire, ~ suit, tie, shiny black shoes, would be a bit more visually qualified to present a given topic.
Lol, don't judge a book by it's cover. Many politicians wear lovely expensive suits. Hitler even wore a suit.
I'd advise everyone not to base their expectations solely on a mans clothing, or a woman's impeccably beautiful nails. . .

The stage effect is kinda like the quality of your presentation plus the size of the audience creates the level of attraction you create as a speaker.
Nervousness is just excitement bout scary stuff, and excitement is just nervousness bout super cool stuff.
One of the most powerful thing you can change about yourself is your belief.
Beliefs are like little viruses, there eat only one kind of food, and that is evidence.

A ten-minute story before Eric got to the purpose statement. But I stuck it out (sic: as a Visual person, I guess I hadn’t seen the start yet!) I did. And I am infinitely grateful that I did. Eric does so much, through example and story, to debunk classic public speaking myths! I loved it!! Mostly, students who enroll in my classes are shy, extremely introverts, ESL, and/or hate public speaking in general :/. So, I usually use these fantastic Talks as educational materials for class preparation and discussions; and unsurprisingly, my students are always excited about it and more verbally engaged.
