"It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it." I feel like my Dad is giving this talk. ;) Seriously though, couldn't agree more. A large part of being in production is knowing how to be prepared for whatever may happen.
Here in Panama condensation is what I have to deal with most of the times, also the temperature changes because of the heat we are most of the times using the ac on your car or place you are staying. Bests regards from a Venezuelan follower in Panama!
Clever idea with the cooler. Makes perfect sense but I just never thought of it! I'm working on a wildlife shoot in the Midwest next month (February) so I'll be putting that to use.
Thanks for the video and the excellent advice. This is very useful. I have a filming trip next week in Canada with a temperature of -20. I don’t have to worry after watching the video, everything is clear.🤗
Great tips! I think gloves with built-in pocket for a hand warmer packet is essential for extreme cold. I just bought mittens with removable finger part. That folds back for when you need fine control. Coupled with thin liners with capacitive finger tips, plus the heat pack (if needed), they work pretty well. Next step up up would be battery-powered gloves and clothes.
Excellent video! Learning unique information like this from an industry veteran is so exciting. I love the point about scheduling for time between locations to allow the camera to adjust to the humidity. What is your advice for filming in extremely hot climates? Would make a great video!
Amazing tips. The tarp, the cooler, the lens bags, extra large ziploc camera bag.. thank you! I really appreciate these mini focused master classes.
SO glad you found it helpful!
Great, practical advice, Matt. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks so much for your comment. Definitely a dad line, but so true and important, especially in this job.
Just wanna take a moment to applaud this audio. So clean
Ha! I appreciate that! Boom over lav any day of the week :)
Batteries in the cooler is brilliant

Interesting thought! I don't know if I'd want yet another battery system to deal with, but love the idea!!
