I'm using Kerr Fastcure dental acrylic to make a new bite plate for an alto Guardala. This is the pink material used to make bite plates in the original handmade Guardalas.

Superb! I've replaced my Guardala bite plate a number of times by melting and gluing pieces of a nite-gaurd made from dental silicone that is designed to keep your from grinding your teeth at night, so I'm very glad to see your video on the proper way to do this. Thanks so much!
Thank you for this. My Guardala bite plate came adrift in the middle of a performance today, nearly choking me. For the first time that I can remember I had a spare mouthpiece in my pocket.
Dental Acrylic is constantly being updated. On my last expensive visit to the dentist I begged some white acrylic to repair chips on the tip of a white plastic ROC mouthpiece and will have enough for both repairs.
Well done ! Good and easy does it.
The liquid used is Monomer, at least that is what dentists use to mix with the powder. Jet denture repair packages have this stuff.

Hi Keith, I'd like to try your procedure on my Dukoff silverite piece. I think I've found the appropriate powder, but I'm not so sure about the liquid. What is its generic name? What type of liquid is it? What would I search for online? Thanks in advance!

Are you in NY? I need one of my Guardala bite plates repaired. A mouthpiece guy put a plate on my newer Guardala piece that I bought as a back up but it's way to high and it's black.Any suggestions?

I think he wants instructions on how to fix mouthpieces (munstycket looks very much like the German mundstuck) and what materials to use...
btw, I've taken your advice and used acrylic material for making fake nails ("Dream Acrylics" products) - works a treat! I've got black powder for repairs to hard rubber pieces and white for bite plates.

I get this stuff from my dentist. it works great on my Guardala which i wear out every year or so.
+Johnny Ferreira You might want to consider a different acrylic that is harder and wears longer.

+Johnny Ferreira The original Guardala pink dental material I have sets up softer than the other acrylics I have. It is possible your dentist has a different pink acrylic. The original pink material was called Fastcure and is not available for purchase anymore.

Some materials are better than others for leaving a nice level surface. I need to work quick and use wet mix which dries as I work with it. But sometimes I need to overfill the area and file and sand it down to shape. This is difficult to do without scratching the plating around the pocket.
This material is no longer available for purchase. Since I have a supply of it, I have not looked into finding a similar material from a dental supllies vendor. The fake fingernail businusses use a pink powder and activator that may be similar. I have some but I have not used any yet.
Toxic this material?
