This made me feel awesome. I'm just finishing the game for the first time and been thinking carefully about my build. The build I've landed on is basically exactly the same as your first one (and I've done no research until now).
I didn't know runic was so good! On my second playthrough doing a defensive build got it up to 341. I will def be doing this next playthrough. Thanks for the video!
Your videos are great man! I would like to add that to get all the additional bonuses of all the skills, Kratos must have the following for the four stats: RUNIC - 250 DEFENSE - 300 VITALITY - 200 COOLDOWN - 125
Fuck dude, I wish I could save that thumbnail. That's easily one of the most badass still shots I've seen someone take of the game - the fitting armor that still leaves his ashen skin visible, the axe in one hand, and the blood marked spartan shield in the other that goes perfectly with his look... Perfection. Okay done gushing.
Jacobo Pineda 3 mist gear Stack 2 small health enchantments and i think there is one that gives standard regen (stacks 3) Then grab health on hit and stack luck Aegirs Protection for rapid regen
At this point I think I've picked up a lot of tech from watching vids like yours but I'm wondering if you would ever make a video really laying out for people the tech thst you're using here. Like, I didn't realize you could pop an axe runic, presumably input the switch to blades command, and without going thru any of that animation, cancel it into a blades runic. That's pretty slick. I'm assuming that's what's happening there. But maybe demystifying some of this stuff would show people that we could all achieve such heights with the appropriate knowledge and practice.
Runic attack recommendations: Leviathan Axe Light Runic Hel's Touch: A pretty effective "one and done" attack. Packs a decent punch. Stuns nearby enemies to give you a breathing room and has the fastest tier cooldown. Enemies hit by the ability turn their backs on you so you can easily have a free stun kill. Leviathan Axe Heavy Runic: Glaive Storm: You won't be using it very often but when you do, you will flail. The axe seeks a pre-determined number of enemies in vicinity which has a huge AOE. Good for CC, not so much for single target nuke. Wrath Of Frost Giant: Has a surprisingly short cooldown for its destructiveness. Unlike Glaive Storm it's incredible for CC and single target nukes. The only downside ist that it leaves you vulnerable during the course of the attack. Blades Of Chaos Light Runic Nemean Crush: Decent cooldown, huge AOE, high damage, one and done attack. Easy to use and incredibly effective. Rampage Of The Furies: If you want to go wombo-combo and proc perks easily, go for it. When paired with Gift Of Apollo heavy runic attack it will get you an incredible amount pf health back. It's a utility tool rather than a damaging one. Blades Of Chaos Heavy Runic Prometheus Flame: Equivalent of glaive storm it is awesome for cc but not for single target damage. Also, looks badass af. Gift Of Apollo: Equivalent of Gift Of Frost but much better. When upgraded, each hit will get you health back and do more damage. Hyperion Grapple: A high damaging move which allows you to close the gap between enemies. Ideal for aggressive players. It doesn't work against advanced enemies such as Ogres or Elite Dark Elves, though.
I use Hels touch for quick stun, then mists of Helheim for CC, launches everyone in the air and creates and AOE for you, quick axe heavy attack recall slam, switch to blades. I then use Nemean Crush and then Hyperion slam, which creates another AOE. Mix that all together with 4 shock arrow spams, then quick change to light arrow, crows, then back to shock arrow spam, all enemies in the vicinity have weakening, burn, frost and shock status effects on them, then just go to town with the blades. I change the blades runes to Wrath of Artemis and girt of apollo (in case I get hit) for valkeries. And use river of knives for the queen. This is a full on runic/cooldown build using sindris dwarf armour, increase frost/flame damage and permafrost gain, with the quick dodge enchant and gauntlet of ages for the raw stats (3 extra enchant slots)
Don’t get hit easier said than done but realize that the fight will take time to complete and going in with that in mind you learn to pace yourself and attack only when an opening occurs don’t get greedy I find Sindris chest armor and high luck attribute makes you invulnerable to attack when performing a runic attack this coupled with patience will help you a great deal but learning move sets of each valkry and going in with a berserk resurrection stone and full rage knowing when to use this will take practice
Just read the valkryie like a book. Die a couple of times to experiment with the moveset of the valk , and when you're set , just counter whatever it has to theow at you , I've beaten 3 valks at level 4 already.
I would‘ve loved if the developers implemented some sort of build safe option. There are so many things that you can change that I rarely dare to make „big“ changes cause I dont wanna end up realising that I can’t remember my last set up...
@@dondemonico wrong Interpretation of my Post! It's a pity that - with all the possibilitys of todays hightech World - in a game that great such really simple Things aint included ...
Ya guys have NO PATIENCE! And you never played DS or something like that - with such bosses - on a hard difficulty! It's normal with this fight and gear/skill system to loose maybe 50 times till youve6the right setuo7a6amd learned the enemies movement. That's no simple hack and slay anymore 😉✌️
I don't mind your recommendation but I feel once you reached Runic 247 that it was just better to buff up other stats like cool down, luck, strength, etc because the axe and blades pommel also add more Runic power... and I used to mix and match armor but then again the armor matching set has an additional special ability when matched so it makes more sense to match it just for that ability alone.
Im going to work on my build today. Going through NG+ on GoW difficulty trying to Platinum the game before the PS5 is released. I just put the higher things to raise my power number. I'll read these perks and strategize tonight.
Cursed mist runic chest and belt Sindris gloves (i prefer fire damage) Shattered gauntlet of ages Valk queen axe hilt Valk blade hilt ENHANCE YOUR RUNIC ATTACKS IF AVAILABLE Mostly ran special enchantments but you can farm mulshphiem for lvl 6/7, get mostly CD, STR, LUC or DEF (CD 100 gives reduced charge times, 125 a third quick ace precision chain) (DEF extra stun at 250 for bare hand) (LUC better procs) (STR better DMG) Youll get 250 RUN around 125 CD and maybe 250 DEF which imo is best
You can get the Zeus set but it takes some time but it does an INSANE amount of damage. If your wondering how to get it all you have to do is beat the game then beat the game on NG+(any difficulty) then go find the Muspelheim cipher and Niflheim kill them two valks. And then kill the rest of them and the queen and there u go( i know its a lot but im just trying to help)
Fire of areas is a good choice for a runic build. It does insane damage. As for Breath of Thamur and Meteoric slam.. there aren't that good honestly, you're better off using another runic attack. Sure they are good for crowd control but if you want damage, look elsewhere
Tbh, none of these builds are particularly good. The first build sucks because of the horribly low cooldown stat, the second build sucks because of the relatively low runic stat and the horribly low luck stat, the third build is still underwhelming and the fourth build has an even lower runic stat than the second one. A great runic build before New Game Plus consists of Sindri's Royal Dwarven Breastplate, the gauntlet and waist guard of the Valkyrie, Valkyrie's Might, Grips of the Valkyrie and Shattered Gauntlet of Ages (especially but not only because of the 3 sockets it has at it's max level). Use enchantments that give you the most luck until you have at least 100 luck and then use enchantments that give you the most runic (you want to make sure that you put the right enchantments into the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages in order to unlock it's powerful special attack). The only downside of this build is that you can't reach level 9 with it.
Seems like a good build ill have to check it out, and I have a challenge I’d like to propose, can you beat the Queen Valkyrie, with just your hands? If you beat it I’ll do the exact same thing and I’ll make a video of it as proof, and I’m a decent god of war player, but you’re godlike I’m positive you can do it :)
I hope that if the emblem system does return, it have a better way of sort them out, its anoying searching for other than lvl. And a cool way to search for an armor piece
little tip, which i guess the uploader doesn't know. When you reach the max of the stat bar in your build. you don't actually get any returns back by over stocking the numbers. This is with all the stats. Cooldown is limited to 17 secs for the quickest runes no matter what stats you have in cooldown, xp gain and hacksilver gain is limited by max luck, same goes for damage and mitigation by the other stats. So when you reach the max in a stat, you are getting diminished returns, you should be using other stats instead. You only want 250 runic tbh, for the perks.
Unfortunately there isn't an actual way to 100% accurately measure the damage, mitigations or even the luck (because of RNG) Though i have ran some tests that has got me to this conclusion. Luck I have tested with max stat bar at 150(iirc), then like 170 and I was averaging 420 per barrel on the lake with no noticeable currency changes at 170, but noticeable changes at 130 averaging at 390 at 130 luck. Cooldown, after about 200-300 (iirc) not even max stat bar, you reach the lowest seconds the runes will recharge, which is 17 secs for hels touch and wrath of artmis, the quickest runes, you cannot get them to recharge faster than that. I haven't tested talismans but a simple stopwatch test would do. I haven't tested vitality at all, but it would be easy to just watch the HP numbers in the stat screen, if they increase past max stats. I haven't tested defence either, as I haven't even built a build around it, but if you want to test that, just recreate a scenario of having max stats and getting hit by a mook dragur, counting how many hits it takes to die, then over-clocking the stats past max by about 50, and then counting the difference in how many hits it takes to die. Not accurate, as it depends on the enemies attack pattern. The test for runic I have done is the exact same scenario as defence, but counting how many basic light attacks it takes to kill a mook dragur and it is exactly the same, give or take if atreus hits it with an arrow/melee attack or if it has a status effect. This is assuming that the runic explanation is correct, and not pertaining to increased damage with just immolation and frost, or that the explanation is ambiguous, that the perk unlocks you get from reaching max runic, IS the increase in your "basic attacks" Still, you can easily do the same scenario as above, but with strength, as strength is raw damage. Again, these tests are not 100% accurate, but with my luck, cooldown and runic tests, I am convinced that diminishing, or even no returns are happening past max stats.
Unrelated but to add to your build, I use sindris armour over the cursed mist, which is for the cooldown as well as runic, so no need for cooldown enchants, gives you 15% frost and burn saving enchants and a protective barrier, all of which are better than the garbage cursed mists perks. I think I can get higher runic than you too with that set, I would have to check, but I do also use the gauntlet of ages for the raw stats of the 3 extra enchants. I haven't grinded the 2 challenge realms for the best enchants either. not boasting, just stating.
Stinkyremy Ive done no exact "testing" but you are right, many stats have a Maximum "Number" and when you reach that it doesnt affect the Gameplay at all, i had a buildup with 203 runic....changed it to 281 runic and there was not Really a diffrence Im a guy who wants Maximum damage output in a Short Time and i Love to Spam that runic attacks on both weapons My stats: Strength 213 Runic 185 Defensive 264 Vitality 63 Luck 64 Cooldown 182 Not Really impressive i know.....BUT enchancements: 2x 25% more Frostdamage (50%) 2x 25% more Burndamage (50%) 1x 20% lessFrostdamage(enemys) 1x 20% lessBurndamage(enemys) 1x faster running 1x 7% more damage with axe throws 1x makes "thamurs Breath" stronger +infinity gauntlet For me its the mightyest Setup, does so much damage 😎 Thamurs Breath takes down 2 ogres + 4 little enemys in 1 activation 😏
This was my question as well. I pretty much beat the game on GMGOW but right now I'm working on Niflheim. I saw this video and now I want to try this high runic build instead of my boring "just equip the best stuff" build. I went to my enchantments and only have maybe a +12 runic but that's all, whereas you have multiple +13 and +12's.
There is a visual cap on every stat level but you can go beyond and still see results. I'm not exactly sure how long this goes for. (Maybe 330-350) Look in description
You focus a lot on stats of your armour and enchantments, but do you think the abilities are important as well? And what do you think is at the end the most powerfull combination?
Yes the abilities are important. More so with the armour than the enchantments. The game doesn't specify how much "gift of strength" or "blessing of runic" actually increases the stat by, or even "high perk activation" on what percentage that actually is. The first step should focus on reaching the visual cap, then you should consider picking the enchantments based on the abilities.
And in response to the best combination, it would have to be Valkyrie or Blazing Magma. I think cooldown is the most valuable stat but there comes a great deal of passivity along with it.
SmvR why passivity? If anything it looks like you’re being more aggressive since your runic abilities are recharging so quickly. Is that just the editing of the videos/are you doing significantly less normal striking because of the focus on cooldown? And how frequently do you die? If you ranked the importance of all the stats with what would the ranking look like? In my mind it goes 1. Strength 2. Defense 3. Runic. 4. Cooldown. 5. Vitality 6. Luck ... My play style has improved significantly since beating the game after fighting the Valkyries and then more so after watching you tubers play styles so on replay I’ll probably go about stats differently.
My opinion shouldn't cause conflict, play how you want. If you've played the game on GMGOW you would understand. How is aggressive waiting to use an animation that deals significant damage to the enemy?
Usually you want to on focus 2 stats. Smoldering brimstone has the highest strength so that's the best choice. Talisman and Pommels are entirely up to you, favoring strength of course. As for enchantments, you should focus on another stat because your strength will be around 250-300. Maybe luck enchantments and use luck based weapon pommels like Grips of the Valkyrie or Grip of Tanngiost?
SmvR yea, I decided to go with Ivaldi's pauldron set. It allows for a more balanced build because my strength is 265, runic: 223, and defense: 240. Kinda seemed unnecessary to have strength all the way up to 300.
For good runic build you also need a good cooldown. Thats why Sendric armor is even better for this kind of build. There are also better enhancement and pommels to choose. I had with my runic build 290 runic and almost 150 cooldown and the cooldowns were noticable. And btw high cooldown with low runic is pointless.
I disagree! The armor level is an important factor in fights, and Sindri's max is 7? With high runic that's where the Talisman of Unbound potential comes into play; restores all runic attacks. And high cooldown with low runic is probably the best set up in the game if you use it right but what would I know ;)
SmvR yes max is 7 but you can still reach overall lv8. And how is high cooldown/low runic good? Whats the point of using lots of runic attack if the are weak? Its trash. I beat the game 5x already and from that 3x on give me gow so i know. The best armor is Valkyrie set anyway.
Black Widow Full CD allows for faster charge times on certain attacks I.E. exc cleave, heavy throw Also, your not thinking about the full potential of runic attacks I.E. MoH slowing field uptime as you can recall your axe and have it recharge while field is down Any Stun effect Ratatoskr CD is greatly reduced Plenty CD worthy things
+Thomas Hafner i dont say having high CD is bad. I say its still pointless to push CD and have crap Runic. If you push CD then push Runic too for maximum effectivity. And i never ever needed Ratatoskr. His CD is too long on give me GoW difficulty even with maxed out CD. I will rather summon 2x Wolfs than 1x that squirell. In late game Runic is your main damage output on give me GoW. Especialy in Invaldi maze where you need kill enemies fast and have Runic redy for the next encounter. All you need is 125 CD and push Runic as high as possible.
It's a bad habit to rely on runic attacks or cooldown on GMGOW, you need to perfect the basics of combat: when to attack, when to block. Trust me.. I know.. ;)
I’m no god when it comes to the Valkyrie Queen I just want to beat her on easy so I can finally be done with the platinum. Please suggest the best build for defeating her. Before people jump on me, I’m recovering from double carpal tunnel surgery so I can’t play games on hard for some time. I’ve been trying forever to beat her just can’t do it and I’ve tried all kinds of different gear even got to level 9 but she’s just too tough.
lambo2655 Mist heavy runic will slow her Apollo heavy runic is nice healing Wolves or Squirrel summon Have bow fire arrows if she goes into air Bring Aegirs Protection talisman Also Rage if low health and mash R1 (DODGE STILL AS DAMAGE STILL REDUCES BAR) and bring beserker stone
Yeah along the lines of what Thomas said, but you should use Valkyrie gear fully upgraded. Talisman of the Realms should help you get all 4 runic attacks in before she has a chance to move. This should do decent damage. It's pretty much rinse and repeat from here. Let me know if that helped
Anybody got suggestions for preparing for ng+? Mostly about builds as I am near 100% already and have mostly everything unlocked. I’m farming kinda aimlessly as I’m not set on my gear. I just want 2 maaaybe 3 sets of gear with different builds. Runic build for sure, melee build, and maybe a tank build. I don’t really want to upgrade every piece of gear, especially ones that I won’t use. Also tryna earn some silver as I read ng+ upgrades are expensive
I'm thinking about a mixed build like Sindry's chest and Valkyrie Belt for the passive effects and for bracers i would go for Curse Mist for the extra runic or magma for extra cooldown+effect. Do you think a gear set up like this will work?
That's actually a solid build with the Sindri and Valk combo. You should use blazing magma bracers and try and get that cooldown close to its visual cap. If you reach it and have enchantments to spare, then you should invest in runic.
hmmm i dont get one thing in this game the chaos blades gives you runic and not str so would it mean that the chaosblade will scale with runic and not str ? i thought runic is only for increasing the damage of his special kills
Good question! It's hard to say. I'm pretty sure physical attacks scale with strength and frost or immolation scales with runic. The blades benefit from strength in melee combat, and runic for elemental combat. So if your build favors strength, then the majority of you attacks should be from melee combat. If your build favors runic, you should incorporate a lot more elemental combat into your attacks to get the most out of your build.
Kevin Moynahan I’ve found the Blightbringer to be good at this since every hit has a chance of inflicting each enemies elemental weakness. Of course you can also stack enchantments to provide up to 60% more damage or take less damage from a specific element but since you can face a variety of different enemies at a certain time you could come up against an enemy resistant to your stacked element. To counteract this you could just pause and change enchantments every time or you could take a more balanced approach which is what I tend to do. That’s why the blightbringer pommel is nice bc it inflicts the specific elemental weakness(es) of the enemy you’re attacking. One of the dwarven armor sets also provides balanced elemental protection (or was it damage? I don’t recall). There’s also an enchantment that provides 12% resistance to all elemental and status ailments which is pretty awesome - the fact it stops blind and poison alone make it worth it, all the other stuff is the cherry on top. Wish it upgraded to 25%!
The skills menu shows all the elemental attacks you can do in combat. So elemental surge (L2 then Hold R1) will scale with runic and as a bonus, if you have 250 or above explosive firebombs are added when using the attack. Or even in melee combat, Plume of Chaos (R2 at the end of a combo) will leave bomb concussions after the attack given you have over 175 runic. Take a look at the skills menu and see the benefits that high runic attack has on certain skills.
Str is better early on becouse your runic attacks sux and are more for stun and crowd control. But later on with good and fully upgraded runic attacks they will be your main dmg force so you should take Runic over Str. Having a bit of cooldown later also helps. Runic also unlock special abilities on your physical moves which will do extra elemental dmg which scales with runic ofc. Defence is always important. Luck and Vit are crap.
Okay so I figured out the best build but im not a youtuber so here it is: Chest: ivaldis spaulders of cursed mist Wrist: gauntlet of the valkyrie Waist: ivaldis war belt of cursed mist Talisman: shattered gauntlet of ages (because it has 3 enchantment sockets) Now the reason why this is the best end game build is because if you play around with your enchantments you can get your Runic and Defense to 250 which will grant you all the bonus perks for those skills and your cooldown to 100 which also unlocks the additional perks. So in total you should have 15 bonus perks in the skill tree which is the most you can have. These are my stats right now: Strength: 232 Runic: 252 Defense: 252 Vitality: 54 Luck: 53 Cooldown: 102 Boom. You’re welcome
Runic summon is preference, I use the Elk over every other summon in the game. But because I was fighting SIGRUN I use the wolves for the stagger potential they have.
I SWEAR TO GOD I ALMOST FINISH THE GAME AND I DIDN'T KNOW I CAN EQUIP ENHANCEMENTS ON MY ARMOR O_O I HAVE TO MANY OF THEM BUT I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THAT , AND I WAS WONDERING WHY ALL ENEMIES WITH LVL 5 AND 7 CAN KILL ME WITH ONE HIT?????? FUCK MY LIFE MAN GOTTA TURN ON MY PS RIGHT FUCKING NOW
Yo so in your renowned opinion, does vitality really matter? I think im an above average player and i get hit very rarely, so should i get 250+ runic or get 75+ vitality for those interuptions to attacks
I personally look at it this way: I don't want to invest in a stat that rewards me for being hit like having high hp or def. Because you say you rarely get hit, you should invest in damage output over hp or def, as they engender passivity. Use the runic enchantment
look at the skil perks you get for stats. If you want raw damage, runic/cooldown if you want to do all the stance change moves, without getting interrupted, go for vitality/defence if you want raw light/heavy attack damage, strength and defence
You have some very good builds there SmvR. A quick question regarding Niflheim, would you use these exact builds. Or would you swap some enchantments out with mist protection enchantments. I can make it through alright on give me a Challenge, just need some tips on getting the most out of my build. Starting GmGOW soon. Much appreciate your advice or anyone else who wants to share.
Any of Ivaldi's sets is enough to get you in and out of the mist with every material. There is enchantments that will increase resistance to the mist and replenish the mist bar after successful kills. But if you don't want to use your enchantment slots, Grip of the Maze Pommel is the best for the cursed mists. Just the pommel and Ivaldi's armour is the way to go.
Thanks alot, looking forward to your Story playthrough. Keep up the awesome work you've been doing for this game. Also looking forward to a NG+ when it eventually arrives. Plus i reckon it would be cool if Santa Monica increased the level cap and put in adept versions of armour Enchantment and Talismans just for NG+. What do you think.
Well said, I agree. Ng+ should include a raise in difficulty so the enemies are stronger. And with that, there has to be some way to improve armour or overall level. Let's hope it turns out this way!
@@jessa.3857 Ha! I don't know about you guys but the only part that was hard was the Beggining. After i got some ok upgrades i just beast moded everything. Still am on GMGOW+. It feels easy as hell. And im almost gonna finish all the realms again too! I leave Niflheim and Midgard last. More about Niflheim than Midgard. Because i like to keep the realm tear icons on the map so i know where i Should go. Its easy without too but can't be too careful.
I run a somewhat mixed set by using full valk with lots of enchantments that give luck and amazing perks. Runic is extremely important, but when you get to 80+ luck with great perks, they start to activate on a constant basis and you have strength, defense, runic, and cooldown perks activating every moment.
How can you play over again a certain point in the game without overwritng it? For example, i want to fight sigrun over again trying out different armor sets without the possibility of saving the progress when i defeat her..

You can't be interrupted if you time it right

Die a couple of times to experiment with the moveset of the valk , and when you're set , just counter whatever it has to theow at you , I've beaten 3 valks at level 4 already.
lol
I would‘ve loved if the developers implemented some sort of build safe option. There are so many things that you can change that I rarely dare to make „big“ changes cause I dont wanna end up realising that I can’t remember my last set up...
Oh poor guy. Write it down or just make a pic! Lazy generation!
Can do nothin by yourself anymore!
@@dondemonico wrong Interpretation of my Post! It's a pity that - with all the possibilitys of todays hightech World - in a game that great such really simple Things aint included ...

Ik it's been 5 yrs but I've only started now and I was looking for a build to run, tysm
Reading all my 36392629262829373 enchantments gives me a headache trying to figure out which one I want to use..
I have to disagree here, the enchantments system is fun because it requires you to be creative
Cursed mist runic chest and belt
Sindris gloves (i prefer fire damage)
Shattered gauntlet of ages
Valk queen axe hilt
Valk blade hilt
ENHANCE YOUR RUNIC ATTACKS IF AVAILABLE
Mostly ran special enchantments but you can farm mulshphiem for lvl 6/7, get mostly CD, STR, LUC or DEF (CD 100 gives reduced charge times, 125 a third quick ace precision chain) (DEF extra stun at 250 for bare hand) (LUC better procs) (STR better DMG)
Youll get 250 RUN around 125 CD and maybe 250 DEF which imo is best
You did this for me thanx bro
No worries :)
just got my platinum using your Valkyrie armour set, cheers
You can get the Zeus set but it takes some time but it does an INSANE amount of damage. If your wondering how to get it all you have to do is beat the game then beat the game on NG+(any difficulty) then go find the Muspelheim cipher and Niflheim kill them two valks. And then kill the rest of them and the queen and there u go( i know its a lot but im just trying to help)
I'm so jealous, when i see all this build up it makes me think if i ever gonna have all those upgrades and be as powerful as you are.
I saw you break the game right at the end. Very nice
Again, great video. The GOW font was a nice touch as well.
The strike of Utgard ( Light Runic for the axe)
Fire of areas is a good choice for a runic build. It does insane damage. As for Breath of Thamur and Meteoric slam.. there aren't that good honestly, you're better off using another runic attack. Sure they are good for crowd control but if you want damage, look elsewhere
You're the god of god of war

Love your vids man, great content and remarkable performances. I hope you reach to the top one day
Oh and a new subscriber to help you out
Thanks!
Consider it done! I'll let you know when I get the chance

murat demirors yeah I know but I bet this guy could do it without realm shift and Atreus’s arrows
Hyperion grapple (light runic) when fully upgraded on my first playthrough was better than my heavy runic
I hope that if the emblem system does return, it have a better way of sort them out, its anoying searching for other than lvl.
And a cool way to search for an armor piece

thanks for this vid....glad you made it

Very nice! Thank you so much!
little tip, which i guess the uploader doesn't know.
Not for runic, it was tested before the 2nd patch was implemented and there was very little diminishing returns on going over the visual cap.
You try and get that much damage on the queen with a 250 runic build and come back to me :)
This is assuming that the runic explanation is correct, and not pertaining to increased damage with just immolation and frost, or that the explanation is ambiguous, that the perk unlocks you get from reaching max runic, IS the increase in your "basic attacks"
Still, you can easily do the same scenario as above, but with strength, as strength is raw damage.
Stinkyremy Ive done no exact "testing" but you are right, many stats have a Maximum "Number" and when you reach that it doesnt affect the Gameplay at all, i had a buildup with 203 runic....changed it to 281 runic and there was not Really a diffrence
Im a guy who wants Maximum damage output in a Short Time and i Love to Spam that runic attacks on both weapons
My stats:
Strength 213
Runic 185
Defensive 264
Vitality 63
Luck 64
Cooldown 182
Not Really impressive i know.....BUT
enchancements:
2x 25% more Frostdamage (50%)
2x 25% more Burndamage (50%)
1x 20% lessFrostdamage(enemys)
1x 20% lessBurndamage(enemys)
1x faster running
1x 7% more damage with axe throws
1x makes "thamurs Breath" stronger
+infinity gauntlet
For me its the mightyest Setup, does so much damage 😎
Thamurs Breath takes down 2 ogres + 4 little enemys in 1 activation 😏
Inspirational thanks!
That runic is through the roof. Nice work.
What is the best way to farm up those enchantments?
I guess Niflheim and Muspelheim. Although I've never actually farmed enchantments only hacksilver, haze weave etc.
Can you make a hermes build? That thor build was cool, so I assume your pro, keep it up.
Considered!
If only they had put boots in this game. Guess so they- WHAT ARE THOSE!
For some reason the epic armors look cooler in terms of appearance than the perfect variation of them.
Using armor sets together will make their effects stronger.
Finally. Is there a limit for the stat level?
Could you do a rage build? Using the armour of Brok, some rage enchantments and the squirrel you can get full rage every fight/minute!
im a complete noob I veat the game 8 times already but my favorites rune attacks are the meteor slam and the breath oh thamur
everytime i watch a video of this game i want to play it again
What would you recommend for a high strength build? I primarily tend to put most of my focus into strength.
Talisman of the Realms works well with a strength build
SmvR yea, I decided to go with Ivaldi's pauldron set. It allows for a more balanced build because my strength is 265, runic: 223, and defense: 240. Kinda seemed unnecessary to have strength all the way up to 300.
@@blackweb12345 You need though 250 Defence if you want some nice effects to your combos (Replying 2 Years later but i Don't care)
Black Widow
Full CD allows for faster charge times on certain attacks
I.E. exc cleave,heavy throw
Also, your not thinking about the full potential of runic attacks
I.E. MoH slowing field uptime as you can recall your axe and have it recharge while field is down
Any Stun effect
Ratatoskr CD is greatly reduced
Plenty CD worthy things
+Thomas Hafner i dont say having high CD is bad. I say its still pointless to push CD and have crap Runic. If you push CD then push Runic too for maximum effectivity. And i never ever needed Ratatoskr. His CD is too long on give me GoW difficulty even with maxed out CD. I will rather summon 2x Wolfs than 1x that squirell. In late game Runic is your main damage output on give me GoW. Especialy in Invaldi maze where you need kill enemies fast and have Runic redy for the next encounter. All you need is 125 CD and push Runic as high as possible.
My build I do full runic and the totem that let's u reset them it's insane and ur immune while doing them
Odin reacting to this on RUclips
Odin later : Son(Thor),pack our bags, were leaving
there are shields you can get? I just beat Valkirie Queen with the standard shield because I don't remember finding any
I'm hoping to start a run through Give Me God of War sometime soon, which early-game armour combinations would you recommend?
Early game focus on strength and defense. Start with wolfskin and move up to metal-plated set when it's available in the shop
Yeah sounds right, I was kind of tempted to try my luck with a cooldown/runic focus using the serpent gear.
It's a bad habit to rely on runic attacks or cooldown on GMGOW, you need to perfect the basics of combat: when to attack, when to block. Trust me.. I know.. ;)
Wait... have we met before?
I’m no god when it comes to the Valkyrie Queen I just want to beat her on easy so I can finally be done with the platinum. Please suggest the best build for defeating her. Before people jump on me, I’m recovering from double carpal tunnel surgery so I can’t play games on hard for some time. I’ve been trying forever to beat her just can’t do it and I’ve tried all kinds of different gear even got to level 9 but she’s just too tough.
lambo2655
Mist heavy runic will slow her
Apollo heavy runic is nice healing
Wolves or Squirrel summon
Have bow fire arrows if she goes into air
Bring Aegirs Protection talisman
Also Rage if low health and mash R1 (DODGE STILL AS DAMAGE STILL REDUCES BAR) and bring beserker stone
Thanks for the advice and for the quick answer. Keep your videos coming. Awesome work!
What's the point of getting those armors if you play "give me a story" difficulty level?
hmmm i dont get one thing in this game
the chaos blades gives you runic and not str
so would it mean that the chaosblade will scale with runic and not str ?
i thought runic is only for increasing the damage of his special kills
Good question! It's hard to say. I'm pretty sure physical attacks scale with strength and frost or immolation scales with runic. The blades benefit from strength in melee combat, and runic for elemental combat. So if your build favors strength, then the majority of you attacks should be from melee combat. If your build favors runic, you should incorporate a lot more elemental combat into your attacks to get the most out of your build.
And yes, runic stat is the only influence in determining how much damage your runic attacks will do
Besides spamming runic attacks, how do you maximize the amount of elemental damage you're doing?
Where did you get the fiery and frozen shard gems and high number runic gems at?
mostly from niflheim farming
SmvR what I was expecting. Thanks for replying though
I just finished the game on N+ gmgow and it was a pain in the a**
Where did u find duplicates of the permafrost enchantment and the burn one i only have one of each.
I honestly don't know, but if I could guess either Muspelheim or Niflheim farming
Alright thanks anyway
In your opinion, focusing on specific areas like the ones you showed is better than trying to find balance?
No not at all. It's up to finding out what best suits your playstyle.
SmvR Well, then definitely, strenght and defence it is.
A runic and cool down build would be good
My only complaint about this game is that you get the badass stuff at the very end of the game other than that this game is fucking awesome!
Joga muito cara ótimo vídeo
witch one does the most damage I am going for that unstoppable force
The first runic build does the most damage, but you sacrifice a little defence
SmvR a sacrifice i am willing to Make thank you for replying bedsides i am going to play on the mosy easy difficulty
I USED CURSED TORSOR AND WRIST WITH VALKRIE WAIST THINK IT IS THE BEST RUNIC MIX SET
Okay so I figured out the best build but im not a youtuber so here it is:
Chest: ivaldis spaulders of cursed mist
Wrist: gauntlet of the valkyrie
Waist: ivaldis war belt of cursed mist
Talisman: shattered gauntlet of ages (because it has 3 enchantment sockets)
Now the reason why this is the best end game build is because if you play around with your enchantments you can get your Runic and Defense to 250 which will grant you all the bonus perks for those skills and your cooldown to 100 which also unlocks the additional perks. So in total you should have 15 bonus perks in the skill tree which is the most you can have.
These are my stats right now:
Strength: 232
Runic: 252
Defense: 252
Vitality: 54
Luck: 53
Cooldown: 102
Boom. You’re welcome
I already have ivaldis deadly mist armour and can't be bothered to grind for another set
How you get those shields
i love this game
I like the first build but why the wolves summon? Its mostly damage focused and not runic focused which is the premice of the build?
FUCK MY LIFE MAN GOTTA TURN ON MY PS RIGHT FUCKING NOW
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Went half the game before I even figured out the whole level up system ☠️
I Didn't even know you can fight with fists
How do you have that many enchanment ? Do you farm it ?
Yo so in your renowned opinion, does vitality really matter? I think im an above average player and i get hit very rarely, so should i get 250+ runic or get 75+ vitality for those interuptions to attacks
im debating whether to use a full on runic enchantment (14) or using muspelheims eye of power
I personally look at it this way: I don't want to invest in a stat that rewards me for being hit like having high hp or def. Because you say you rarely get hit, you should invest in damage output over hp or def, as they engender passivity. Use the runic enchantment
look at the skil perks you get for stats.
If you want raw damage, runic/cooldown
if you want to do all the stance change moves, without getting interrupted, go for vitality/defence
if you want raw light/heavy attack damage, strength and defence
Agreed, Take it easy mate.
How did u upgrade your shield
You unlock two new shields for completing the game on GMGOW and I think you also get some from preordering the game? Could be wrong.
@@syzy3508 yeah you can get shields if you pre-order it
I think that if you added voice to your videos, they’d really kick ass

How did you get those 2 legendary shields, the Tyr's one and the Spartan one? The Spartan shield looks amazing
Complete the game on Give Me God of War difficulty
SmvR oh OK so I'm never getting them ;_; thanks for letting me know though, I appreciate it a lot

Its easy without too but can't be too careful.
thanks!
I had this question? If you can help.... Which built is better? Full on Runic? Or Luck? And thanks for the videos.
Shamim Azad Definitely Runic
Yeah jay is right, runic over luck
Thank you both of you...😊😊
Shamim Azad
Luck can be just as viable as runic DEPENDING on the procs you can make happen, but tbh you can just do a runic build and fill in luck
I run a somewhat mixed set by using full valk with lots of enchantments that give luck and amazing perks. Runic is extremely important, but when you get to 80+ luck with great perks, they start to activate on a constant basis and you have strength, defense, runic, and cooldown perks activating every moment.
So epic
I wish you could change the armour without changing stats because I really dislike the cuirass and pauldron chest armours
please how can i get a full (HS) & the (ex) ???
Does it matter of the cooldown stays low? Im trying to increase it but everytime i try to select any armor it reduces my strength and other things too
Where can I get these enchantments from?
use the weakest armour set plz
8:00 how do you do that
Recall the axe?
SmvR
Probably the runic attack
Looks like glave storm lvl 3 not sure though
Alex Sherman
How can you play over again a certain point in the game without overwritng it? For example, i want to fight sigrun over again trying out different armor sets without the possibility of saving the progress when i defeat her..
How do you get the flawless crest of the realm
do u have a fury build video?
The build from Sigrun blades of chaos only? It's the one at the beginning
rage of sparta
The first one. Just take off cursed mist spaulders and put on smoldering brimstone chest. And change the runics to Tatarus Rage and Cyclone of Chaos
yah but u now where do i find another enchantment like eye of the fury effect??? reduces rage cost by 15%( max 45%)
'Don't blink' Treasure map. I actually don't know how to get it sorry but there should be a guide somewhere on the internet
how do you get enchantments for this though
Have you done new game plus builds?
