In Aragon (Spain) there was a curious tradition: whenever a new king (or queen) was crowned, the nobles would give the crown after reciting this:
“Nos, que somos y valemos tanto como vos, pero juntos más que vos, os hacemos Principal, Rey y Señor entre los iguales, con tal que guardéis nuestros fueros y libertades; y si no, no”

This is a unique video, however England is missing a crucially significant section: the revolutionary legal reforms of Henry II and the expansion on the royal power at the expense of the nobility, making England one of the most centralized kingdoms in Christendom. The rebellion of the barons against King John had much less to do with the efforts of William the Conqueror and almost everything to do with John’s unpopularity, failure abroad, and exponential expansion of the incredibly well-oiled administration forged by Henry II.
“… the later resentment of the Angevin system implicit in Magna Carta might have been fostered by Henry II’s mastery of men and government. Certainly many of the barons at Runnymede in 1215 saw John’s excesses as expansions of those of his father.”

Henry II is one of the most over-looked monarchs in Western European history, his usage of things such as Circuit Judges and the centralisation of English law is genuinely genius way of managing his vassals whom had basically become regional kings under the lax rule of King Stephen and the general chaos of the Anarchy.
I'm glad to read a comment from someone who knows about the administrative genius of Henry II.

I reccomend highly the books of Alan Ryder Alfons the Magnanimous and The Wreck of Catalonia, plus Flocel Sabaté's The Crown of Aragon. To understand the diversity and how the medieval states politics functioned the Crown of Aragon was the perfect examples to see its problems and virtues. It would be a very interesting video as apart from those two authors there is little bibliography that explains that state in detail...

@@alphagamer9505 Yes and no. If you pretend the two titles are two completely seperate entities, then yes. But seeing as CK3 is the follow-up to CK2 I feel it is immensely lacking. I dont exactly /mind/ the character and dynasty perks, the religious tenants, the technology revamp, etc. They are obviously flawed and need a bit of tweaking, but yea, I like the ideas to various degrees.
However, there are so many damn things they just decided not to port from CK2 to CK3. I realise that CK2 at the end of its cycle was a clusterfuck of code consisting of numerous DLCs and endless patches, making it more viable to start over with CK3. But why drop so much of what made the later iterations of CK2 a great game? It honestly feels like a Spiderman reboot with better CGI and worse writing. And 3D-generated MILF aunts for the thirsty incest-bois.

Imagine having to play the Doge of Venice, if they truly were to implement the full rules of it's society.
No, you can't elect your offspring.
No, you can't go on a hunting trip unless your court likes you.
No, you can't start intrigue plots unless you already have strong hooks on your court members ... etc.
