Love ours, been faultless the last 55K miles. 1.4T Auto Elite Nav. Fast enough, very spacious, smooth auto box, cheap to buy, reliable. Not the most comfy for long distances would be only complaint. I've no idea why more weren't sold. Last of the GM owned Vauxhalls before Stellantis take over.
Hell more legroom than my Dad's old Vauxhall had. He had a 1979 Cavalier Sports Hatch and as a child I had no legroom or headroom. Beautiful car but totally impractical. My sons father has a new Vaux Insignia which has terrible headroom for teenage boys, his wife had an Astra GTC which my sons also griped about. I have just ordered a 2017 Astra Sports Tourer in the beautiful Granite Grey. I've gone for the 1.4 six speed petrol automatic and am awaiting a delivery date. I've also joined the Astra K forum.
This is a great car, and contrary to what the reviewer says, the handling is excellent. I ride a motorbike for pleasure and try to corner the Vauxhall in the same style. It hasn't let me down yet. Don't waste your time on the stupid little petrol engines - they're just for confused tree-huggers - get the 1.6 diesel with 134 bhp. Goes like a racehorse and is very economical on hay and oats. The diesels are also chain cams which means no pesky belts to change. I don't work for Vauxhall, I just really like this car. And just to prove I haven't got a grudge against the German rivals, my motorbike is a BMW.

I'm quite excited about it and have watched the reviews of the car and the intellilink system. I love the Onstar and the cars own wifi system although I know I have to pay after three months. I think the Vauxhall website car configurator is excellent and cannot be bothered with sales tattle so I rang the dealer and warned him I'd chosen what I needed so didn't need his sales patter. I happily chose all I wished for online then just went in the dealers with my configuration number. I didn't even test drive as to be honest, I drive anything from my quad bike to a family car, a transit LWB and a 7.5 tonne truck and nothing fazes me. I know I can get comfortable in the Astra Sports Tourer and I didn't feel a need to have bum warming seats.
It's been 5 years, 7 months, 18 days, 13 hours and 4 minutes since your last video. Is Rebecca ever coming back??? Oh well I'll try back tomorrow as usual.
Overall this is a very good car, much lighter (~180kg less) than the predecessor, agile handling from 1.4 turbo or 1.6 CDTI 136LE and above (with WATT link suspension). In our country not to much difference in pricing between the 1.0 petrol and the 1.4 125LE turbo (neither the 1.4 150LE petrol) which are way better options and naturally you get 6 speed manual. This petrols are very quiet engines, with enough power to drive sporty (0-100km/h 8,7 sec). The back room is similar with Skoda Octavia (which is one of the best in this category), I don't think we see the proper seating position for 5'11" or Chris likes to level down the driver's seat. (I'm 5'9 and my college fits behind me with 6'4.) Need to mention the entertainment systems are easy to use with Android Auto/Apple Carplay/Blutooth as standard.
Confused by the 1 litre turbo engines they seem to be offering these days. I've had a few hire cars with them, notably a Ford Fiesta and the MPG was also around the 40 mark, it just seems very poor to me. Whilst ok around town it was pretty crap on the motorway, and the MPG didn't go up much either. I would want a 2.0 diesel engine on a big tourer car, 170bhp minimum if you want to account for 4 or 5 people and a full boot. I think the 1 litre engine would struggle fully loaded up.
Loved that introduction. Discount warehouses and Astras might surprise you. Don't underestimate them! But don't drive the 1.0. it's horrid. Also, premium cars are better still. Being a badge snob is not the right way to look at life, but the upmarket things in life CAN still boast more quality.
Could you do a review on some alcohol (ethanol) powered cars? Ive read that in Brazil 90% of cars drive on alcohol, and all major manufacturers make them.
Can't believe anyone would buy a one litre Astra ST. I've just ordered the 1.4 6speed Auto and was worried it may be under powered (as I'm replacing a 2 litre TDi Peugeot 406 estate) but a one litre is crazy, my 206 has a one litre and that IS underpowered!
You can still see telegraph cars new videos, in their website. I guess they stopped youtube channel. www.telegraph.co.uk/cars/mercedes-benz/mercedes-glc-review/
stamy74 Really? I wonder why that is! Well, they were getting a lot of comments on Rebecca and how people wanted to bone her or marry her. Seems they finally got fed up. Thanks for the link. They do good reviews, now they must host their own videos. In any case, thanks for the link man.
stamy74 is she? Never heard of that channel. Man there are too many car channels doing reviews now. Well she hosted the video in the link you posted, hence thought she was still there at telegraph cars.
R.I.P Telegraph cars. 2015-2016

soooo, there hasn't been an update to this channel for over 3 months. Is it dead? All well then.
over 2 months since the last upload! Is the channel dead? Am missing Rebecca :(
Lots of legroom!? Looked like there was hardly any!
It's good if you consider that he sits very low and laid back.

I had the previous model 1.7cdti tourer and it was a great car had it for 4 years doing 21000 miles a year great reliability good honest car.
Is this channel dead? Did they stop making reviews?
+rafers looks that way been 3 months since they reviewed any cars? now use Car Keys UK and Carwow instead.
+Dave 101 We need Becca !!! Maybe she is hurt, sick or something. She needs us !!!
Not withstood the competition with Carwow.
Gabriel Ueta It won't be because of Carwow. Their making less money now not uploading than they would be uploading
Undiscovered RUclipsr It may be, but after Mat resigned from Carbuyer, and started the new venture, Telegraph Cars stopped publishing its reviews.
Nice review. Keep up the good work!
Hello Telegraph~ echoooe echoee~
It's been 5 years, 7 months, 18 days, 13 hours and 4 minutes since your last video.
Is Rebecca ever coming back??? Oh well I'll try back tomorrow as usual.
Jack1138 She has joined What car? site on You Tube.
Just discovered these guys are still uploading videos on the telegraph cars website, with both Rebecca and Chris! :)
Rebecca is now at What Car?
No idea where Chris has ended up though

What was wrong with your channel? It is been a while u haven't posted any video.
Why would you choose the 1 Litre and then use that for your driving review for the car, when there's better engines available?
The interior is much much better on the new Astra, a bit more up market, although I am swayed towards the Volkswagen Golf in terms of interior.

Is this channel dead now? A shame as it was slowly gathering momentum and Chris was getting increasingly watchable.
Is it just me, or is that roof line/chrome line at the rear sides "Pot Ugly"!
I've just finished polling 7 billion people, and it's just you sorry!
I agree, ugly as sin :)
Where is Rebecca
Wish this blue was available for 2017

They're turbocharged
I'm going to look at an Astra 1.4t sri tourer in the morning, 150 bhp I believe.
The channel is D E A D!.....cuz the traffic goes to CARWOW/CARBUYER. Sadly I missed her and her bananas!

Did you notice how well this horrible car suits the Presenter? Like a puzzle.
