I have a windowless office, and for the past month & a half I have been trying to figure out if I can DIY a fake window. So your tutorial came at the perfect time!! Thank you for detailing the process!!
Thought I’d add! I have about a 9x12 studio space that I was excited to try this in. Total cave vibes. I bought all the stuff she suggested, got it in, anddddd immediately realized it wasn’t right. In a space like mine it was WAY too bright and even on its warmest setting it felt kind of like a hospital. The room was definitely brighter but at that amount of brightness it felt sterile. I tried different curtain options to block the light more and it just didn’t work, so I’d tell people to be weary if your space is REALLY small. Or maybe it works in some super small spaces! But in mine it wasn’t a fit. That said, I’m SO thankful for this video because I had to try this idea to see if it’d work. The items are returnable, it was super easy to try out the light, and now I can move on to the next idea knowing a fake window isn’t for me. So thanks for creating this!!
did you try using one panel?? after i made this i found myself only turning one on cus it was definitely too bright at times! im sorry it didnt work for you :(
In person does this trick your brain into thinking it's a window/real outdoor light source? It's so convincing on all the videos so I'm just curious. I have an office without windows and I'm wondering if this will help combat some of the blues of being away from windows
Somewhat but this is the inexpensive option. There's ways to make it seem more like natural sunlight, and there's also fake ceiling skylights that cost a lot and take the illusion to the next level.
I love how it came out. I cant wait to see all the new shorts/ tiktoks with this new lighting. I remember you saying you wanted to try and go for a more natural look at some point, this is such a great start.
I got here after I learned about fake skylights... and how expensive they are!! I moved into a very dark ground floor apartment. I get very little light and is starting to depress me a little. I may for real try this, it looks pretty good!!
omg i was looking to do this in my bedroom there is no windows and now i saw how it looks definitely geting them now now your setup is more cozy with the window light i love it change out the curtains when you change your set up love it so much good job looks great much love 😍 😍
Also found through threads, thought this looked like an interesting concept so I got curious.... HOLY that looks so realistic, it's stunning! Thank you for sharing with us ❤
love how this turned out! I've been trying to figure out how to position my desk in front of the only (awkwardly placed) window in my living room and wondered if it was possible to make a faux window light. It is! Also live in a dark and grey province so I can't wait for summer (canadian winters never get easier :///). Thanks!
This is EXACTLY what I’m looking to do! Thank you for recording and posting this!! When shopping for the panel and cord, did you watch out for any specifications around the voltage or etc.? I’m trying to be as safe as possible as a complete noob to wiring and electricity, and I don’t want to accidentally overload my standard apartment office outlet.
It looks like there's an actual window there! Looks really good and as if there's natural light flooding into the room. Do you have that feeling when your sat at your desk?. Your lights look so calming and relaxing to!. 🙂

The thumbnail really threw me off, I actually thought there was now a window in your room!!! it looks fantastic and blends in so well.
haha thank you!! it looks soo trippy in person
Now this was made just for me! Thank you for your creativity
Genuine question, does it get hot when the lights are turned on for hours?
sometimes, but only certain lights of mine give off heat! the rope light around my desk's edge gives off the most so i tend to keep that off
this is a wonderful idea! it fills the space nicely too 😁 i hope it continues to be a help to u!!!
Thank you so much!!

Will do this in my kitchen
How did you hook the AC Chord up to both panels?
I have 2 power cords, one for each panel!

Looks like I need this too.
Already saw your posts on Threads - SO COOL!
thank you 🥺
Let’s go! A day late….but another WUGGIE vid!
a friend sent me your instagram post after I complained about my room having no windows! I love this idea so much
omg that’s so cool i hope you give it a try!!
I’m doing this is is amazing
Wait this looks hard lol
hahaha it’s not i promise!!
Why not just use a monitor and paint the bezels white? You would have been able to make it display a window to the beach or wherever you want.
I didn't want another monitor and it wasn't about needing a legit window with a view, just more lighting so my room didn't feel like a cave

@@peter_robinson I’m actually blessed to actually have a window next to mine but unfortunately I cannot dim the light coming in jajajajaja
Yes absolutely it feels real when I'm here! My brain is definitely tricked lol
