Last time I checked there was no policing and checking as to who came into women's and men's toilets and still that system has worked for decades. Respect, shame and not being a pervert seemed to do the trick just fine. Staying away because you are not wanted was enough, not anymore it seems.
Maybe we need some security around it? A transgender woman, 18, has sexually assaulted a ten-year-old girl in a Morrisons toilet just weeks after using her phone to spy on another girl in an Asda female toilet. Katie Dolatowski admitted grabbing the young girl in Morrisons by her face and forcing her into a cubicle in Fife, Scotland.
Its mostly fake outrage as like you said, there has never been anything stopping perverts since we stopped taking toilet attendants. I get some of it is misplaced fear from women who have been assaulted in the past, but they are directing it at the wrong target as nothing anyone does will prevent an abuser from doing what they do. All this does is increase the already high-rate of abuse against trans people.
That's the point theres no Policing, so any deviant can have their way......with their own space they can self Police by using the correct toilets, instead we've given deviants access to women and children in toilets, proud people dont get "outed" what needs privacy in public is deviant behaviour.
I think transmen aren't even on the radar. Cis women don't see them as a threat, and "straight" men don't find them sexually exciting. So the media don't bother talking about them.
Cis women would see transmen as a threat if they were forced to use a restroom based on their at birth gender. She would not be able to distinguish he was trans -- she'd freak out a man was in the loo. Period.

Yep actual trans women aren’t the problem it’s opening the door for strait men to violate us I think they should create a third bathroom one for. Men ,women, and transgender
Literally nobody is doing that though, literally none. What your describing there, is whataboutery, the fear of endless possibilities of what could happen rather than actual reality.
The problem with this is that a proper debate is needed. What always happens is, as it did in this case, the debate turns to insults as the presenter did. Helps solve nothing
That's because most presenters on lbc are radical left, and most radical left people don't know how to debate and just shout and scream because they lose most arguments. Normal women are not cis there women. These woke lefty have invented words to logically explain their madness.
I'm afraid bigotry isn't just an opinion that has equal weight on the debate table. I refuse to have to argue on the basic humanity of a minority that's being picked on by people trying to force the social discourse by disguising hate as just an opinion.
He’s said he has no issue with trans tried to come up with a practical solution to a very complex problem - but because it doesn’t fit entirely with their opinion he’s berated. That’s just dictating. Im cis. And I do believe you can be born in the wrong body. But as a woman I worry some predatory males will take advantage of a situation. And I think that’s the point the man was trying to make. I don’t think he was saying trans women would cause a problem - but that there are cis men that would use this to their predatory advantage. I don’t agree with a 3rd toilet myself - but I don’t think he deserved to be called ‘gross’ either.
I am not sure he did have valid points, he had concerns though. It comes back to the question, how do you check? I cannot see a trans person using a trans toilet, and I think the second caller highlighted their fear of being a trans person. Why would they want to put a target on their back? Furthermore, the likelihood is you, I and many others have used a toilet with trans people also using it without us knowing. This particular Tory government does an amazing job of making people angry about things that wouldn't normally be an issue or that they would care about.
Men generally dont feel threatened by trans men according to my male friends which is why they are not bothered by trans men in their spaces however women can feel threatened by trans women
@@youtubecommentbotI feel threatened by them in certain instances. It’s not always about physical threat either. Women don’t have to disclose their personal reasons for not wanting men in their spaces.
I had no problem with them until they started pushing and pushing and pushing. We have feelings too and they are being treated as irrelevant. These people want respect without offering any. They want to remake the whole world to suit THEM and only them. Redefining who I am whilst telling me not to define them. I argued for them to be accepted as TRANS women, a human beings. Now, they are getting on my last nerve. We women have a right to be comfortable too. Many of us are NOT comfortable with them in our locker rooms.
@@googlyeyedcat I find it highly narcissistic, the way that women who are anti-trans have the audacity to claim they are speaking on behalf of all, or even the vast majority, of women. And I don't see why trans women need to show any respect to those have never shown them even the most basic level of respect whatsoever. Respect is earned, not something that should be automatically expected.
@@hiromiw649 Yes, you have to give respect to get respect. Over the course of decades, I've never seen any so-called "gender critical" woman show any respect at all to trans women, in fact they show trans women the complete opposite of respect. The main problem there being, to them, trans women merely existing, is being misogynistic, and an act of disrespect towards cis women. So they expect to be shown respect, despite never showing any themselves. And yep, you're right about some trans women acting as if they are the mouthpiece for all trans women, which again, is very narcissistic. Caitlin Jenner is a very bad spokesperson for trans women, who indeed does weaponise Western patriarchal attitudes that have been destructive to women. I've also noticed that a lot of transphobic women embrace destructive archaic patriarchal attitudes, which I find totally ironic for women who describe themselves as "gender critical". It's then that they show theur true colours. I very much agree that the majority of trans women just want this huge spotlight that they've been placed under in recent years to go away. There's been a huge increase in hate crime against trans women during that time, which I don't think is any coincidence. Many trans women just want to be able to live quiet lives, and just blend in with regular society. But the times we're living in makes it extremely difficult for them to do that. And too many people don't care about that at all, sadly.
Transwomen are not the threat. The arguments that these people are concerned about are actually cis-men. 'Men might dress up as trans people so it's not safe to have transwomen', That's an issue with the behaviour of cis men so that's where the behaviour should be changing 'we don't want men in our bathrooms'. would you rather have transmen in there? 'Women won't be safe in public bathrooms⁰'. Most attacks happen, carried out by cis-men, happen in parks or homes or alleyways or whatever. The likelihood of anyone attacking anyone in a place where people are coming and going is highly unlikely. The poor transwoman who called in. It's so awful to hear the fear and upset in her voice. Heartbreaking. If you read this I'm sending you love, honey x
You are almost right or half right. Transwomen are not the threat. But men are also not the problem. The issue is not the behaviour of men so that behaviour of men should be changing. The problem is self I.D law. (that is supposed to help trans ppl.) that any creepy perv can abuse - any time.
Cis and trans were most commonly used in chemistry to describe molecules that occur in mirror-image configurations, so yo had a 'cis' form and a 'trans' form. Cis, means 'on this side' and often describes the most common configuration, whereas trans means 'on the other side'. These molecules are both naturally occurring and have basic similarities, so the intention is to say 'very similar but different'.

UK press have been saying for years that women should be afraid of me. Tories are targeting my rights & Labour under Starmer are either letting this go unchallenged or supporting threats of exclusion. You may see articles about trans people every day if you read newspapers, the UK prints an average of 1000 articles about us each month (census figures say we make up less than 1% of the population, doesn't that seem an excessive amount of articles for such a small group?). How many of those articles are written by trans people? How many of those articles speak to trans people? Where are the trans voices in this? We mostly only get to share our voices in comments sections like this, often if we do try to make our voices heard we'll get comments intended to dehumanise or offend us. I keep hearing that my rights are a public debate, bit of a one sided debate when the only voices people tend to hear are cis voices
It is really unfair and must be scary and horrible for you at the moment. I’ve also been frustrated by how the media has been debating this issue. I definitely think trans women need more of a voice on this subject and I also think that they are leaving out the voices of all the boring middle aged married mother het cis feminist women like me who would love to have a chance to show our support for our trans sisters and also say how angry we are that women’s rights and safety is being used as a shield by a bunch of misogynistic conservative traditionalist bigots who have never had any concern for women’s rights at all. This is such a difficult debate obvs. We are all so many individuals, our lives marked out to date by our ‘sexuality’, ‘gender’, faiths, cultures, family influences, work, financial and educational… the list is endless for each individual. Trans-bathrooms seems to me a best of the worst solutions in the short term of a generation or two. Fact, people should feel safe. That’s all people. But particularly women and children. Most men on the planet don’t want their female family going in to loos where there are men or trans-women. That’s a safety issue as old as time. In S Africa, in the USA they used to force one group of people to use different facilities because they were seen as lesser. The rhetoric is dangerous and is likely to lead to violence and death.

So they expect to be shown respect, despite never showing any themselves. And yep, you're right about some trans women acting as if they are the mouthpiece for all trans women, which again, is very narcissistic. Cis and trans were most commonly used in chemistry to describe molecules that occur in mirror-image configurations, so yo had a 'cis' form and a 'trans' form. Come to Thailand, they are very accepting and relaxed about men wanting to become female. It is quite common. We don’t have trans toilets. Some of the so called lady boys are very beautiful and without careful study, ie Adam’s apple, bigger feet and hands, wider shoulders, a lot have had cosmetic surgery so quite difficult to tell. In the well known garages they have disabled toilets, but they also use the woman’s toilets without any bother.
Who’s going to check? We’ll do what’s already being done and check ourselves. If someone uses female only spaces and is obviously a man ( regardless of clothing) then they are asked to leave. Simple as .

People need to go to the toilet whether at work etc it's not exactly a social space. Personally I am only interested in my own needs and don't need to have other people vetted for whatever reason.

It's because we know that it makes people feel bad to be sent somewhere else -to use a different set of facilities - there is also the danger that the facilities will then become worse in terms of quality .
