Quick Update: Genshin did end winning the award & Geoff did confirm that the bots involved in voting were real and had been removed prior to the announcement of the winner
as a sonic fan myself I am deeply sorry for what some of the fanbase did to genshin fans, I still love sonic but I will accept defeat, but to genshin fans out there, please realize not all of the sonic fanbase wanted this to happen or meant it to, every fanbase is gonna have some really bad rotten eggs
As both a Genshin Impact and sonic fan, I am sorry for the toxic Genshin Impact fans. There was a lot of negative from both sides, I understand that not everyone in both fandoms wanted or involved in this.
I think if the sonic fandom didnt just Triggered the whole Chinese gI fandom and started the war they should've won, i even think the genshin fandom know that they dont deserve the reward but just voted for retribution from the racist post.
I know for a fact I really didn't care, same for many others I talked to before the drama we might say will get something from it but that's assumption. Only after those racist post ran wild some of my CN friends encouraged me and other to vote against it
Honestly agree. Like there was a bunch of players that didn't even know about the awards until this drama started. Most were focused on the new 3.3 patch.
Yeah ppl who thinks it bots... West is still not familiar that they are not only country the sun and moon revolves...When West is Night time its Day time in Asia....Tbh majority of genshin doesnt care about the TGA. But when the minority of Sonic fan are started being rasist to asian it kinda rub as the wrong way. So Asian community consist of Asia, CN, JP, KR, India and Russia got news on the insult...Sonic fan were caught off guard overnight....its obvious East gamers voted in TGA..accusing Asian being bots is a nono.. But in the end of the day we all kinda give up with drama...tbh knowing kinda is cringe enough sent our Peace to the wholesome Sonic community
