    The first rummy-based solitaire that I've ever seen. No need for ace foundations. Pretty neat!

    I have played a rummy solitaire game using the jokers. This is definitely a fun and challenging looking version. I need to try. Thanks for the video!!!

    If you had to choose, should I have a gin or vodka gimlet while playing this game?

      For a more floral or herbal card experience, I recommend gin. Great question!

    I thought bro actually had gigantic cards.

    Why does the winner score a “bonus” 20 points when you get a gimlet, yet the loser scores 30 for going sour? Isn’t the goal to get the least amount of points? Why do you get more points for going sour than for actually getting a gimlet? Great explanation otherwise! I’ve enjoyed playing casually. Thanks!

      Thank you for the note. Yes the sour penalty is steep so I try hard to limit my discards. Makes it challenging. Glad you enjoyed the video!

    What would you say the single best overall solitaire game is? Like, if I were on a desert island and all I had was a deck of cards for entertainment and a book of solitaire games with all but one page torn out of it, what game would you hope was described on that page if it were up to you?

      What a great question! I guess it depends how old I am when you ask me. When I was young, it was "the ten game." Loved it. When I got older, my grandpa taught me Klondike and for years that was THE game. Later I got into Golf, Accordion and Australian Patience. But lately ... I'm kinda hooked on Free Cell. The idea that nearly every single deal is solvable is so compelling. How's that for a long winded answer!?!?

    At 13:54 the last card should have been discarded. Am I correct?

    Do you just play as many hands until you or opponent reaches 100?

  • @antoniozumpano826

    One question: A player can go sour and gimlet at the same time. The last discard makes a sour and a gimlet in the hand. In this case, we count points for the sour and for the gimlet. It is correct?

    • @SolitaireWithTheCardGuy
      @SolitaireWithTheCardGuy  7 дней назад +1

      I believe that is correct. If the last card makes a sour and a gimlet I would agree to score both.

    Great video, very well described, you nailed it! I actually still play this casually quite a bit without keeping score, just counting how many times I can not lose a hand. But playing with the score is a more interesting challenge for sure. Scratches the Gin Rummy itch when you're by yourself. I hope others enjoy it too.

    Sorry, what is the value of A, J, Q and K?

    • @SolitaireWithTheCardGuy
      @SolitaireWithTheCardGuy  10 месяцев назад +1

      Great question. Ace= 1 point. 2 thru 10 are face value. J, Q and K all = 10 points. Keep those values in mind and avoid "costly" deadwood penalty points. Best of luck!

    8:12 you had a run of 456 of hearts

      @@JustFilmStudios That is true. I guess my gut said to go for the group of 5’s versus the hearts run.
