    Congrats for the video. A question: I have installed the Carlink Android radio in the Opel Astra H but I have a problem with the air conditioning which does not turn on either manually or from the radio. There is no power coming from one of the connectors (the gray one). To understand if the problem comes from the air conditioning alone, I removed the installed radio and reinstalled the old factory display. So I noticed that with the original display and with the original factory wiring used everything works well. Attention: the on-board computer is the DVD90NAVI model and my original air conditioner has 2 connectors for operation (grey and blue).Can you help me?

    • @ajninn
      @ajninn  7 месяцев назад +1

      If I'm understanding correctly, you have installed an Android Multimedia / head unit in place of the factory screen ( Bid / Gid / CiD - these are the three types of displays for the car ) and you have left your original car radio / media ( DVD90Navi ) in its original location and connected ?
      If that is the case, the issue is that the factory screen acts as a CAN gateway and if the car doesn't detect it, no power is sent to the AC system / panel, preventing you from using it.This means that if you would like to keep using your AC you would need to have the factory screen connected to the car. There are 4 ways you can do it that I can think of at the moment. #1 Use the same setup as me , remove the factory media and place the factory screen in its place. #2 Install the Android head unit in place of the factory media and keep the factory screen in its original place. #3 Move the Factory screen to the glove box or hide it somewhere inside the dashboard. #4 Move the factory screen to the ceiling.

      @@ajninn the 3rd and 4th options are interesting but for the third there is the risk that the factory wiring for the factory screen is short to hide it where it doesn't create problems. For the 4th option I am not a professional installer to do certain jobs. Too complicated. It might be possible if there is a very detailed video for this method. Thanks anyway.

      @@alpacinox3671 Well the Factory cables are actually are too short even for moving it in place of the DVD90Navi. Extending the cables seems and looks harder than it actually is. My recommendation is #1 disconnect the cars battery, take some painters tape ( some thing that doesn't have a strong adhesive / sticks too hard ) and a marker. Put labels on both ends so you know what cable goes where , cut the cable and extend them 1 by 1, slow and steady. I too don't have any professional experience with such things but little by little I managed to do this and add some other extras ( key-less entry / Start & Stop ignition button & frame-less self dimming rear view mirror ) to the car that I hope I could share in a video soon.

But from what I know about the device, to my knowledge there is no way to connect a DAB / DAB + antenna directly to the device. Hi, could you please explain how you managed to connect the device (stereo) and the GID at the same time? The harness doesn't seem to give this option... 🙄

    • @ajninn
      @ajninn  4 месяца назад +1

      Yes the harnesses for android head units like this one require the GID screen to be disconnected so that they can use it's connector and be " properly " connected to the car. Unfortunately nobody has the desire to make a fully functional Can Bus decoder box for the Astra H & Zafira B with climate control. Resulting in you not having any power to the AC the moment the GID screen ( The screen acts as a Can Bus gateway ) is disconnected. So with the help of some people across the internet this is how I managed to have both the Android Head unit and the GID screen connected. To power on the Head unit you only need one cable from the GID screen connector, so connect the GID normally and add a single cable to make a bridge connection / Y splitter.
      Here is a picture to help : photos.app.goo.gl/zLE3CpJbWgJSRmwVA (left side is the Android head unit , the right is the factory GID connector )

    • @sarrisstratos

      @@ajninn Thank you so much for your answer! Unfortunately, I have tried the connection you suggest (I've read every instruction you have given in your videos so far 😁) but for some strange reason it doesn't work! If connected to GID connector, head unit works fine. If I make a Y connection to the cables you show me, GID works but stereo remains off. I'm pretty sure I have bridged the correct cables that's why I'm desperate right now! Would you know if using a harness for the other type of cc3 (the one that installs where the original stereo was) will be a solution to my problem (no need to connect the GID plug to the stereo) ?

    • @ajninn
      @ajninn  4 месяца назад +1

      @@sarrisstratos I'm sorry to hear that you're having such issues. If I may ask, if you plug in all of the connectors of the Android multimedia to the car ( including the GID connector ) does the device power on ? If you have not tried it please do. If you have and it doesn't please check the other connector that goes to the CD 30 etc ( factory radio ) My first few tries when I was installing the Android device in the car I didn't plug that connector correctly and wasn't able to power on the device.Maybe the wiring on your harness is a bit different and that's why my suggestion is not working for you :/ Are you using a teyes CC3 or a different but quite similar device ? As for trying the other harness it ( the one for the installation replacing the factory radio ) it may have a positive effect. I personally tried that at the beginning but I was having even more issues with that one. The android device was registering phantom steering wheel button presses and wasn't powering on and off correctly ( it wouldn't turn off when the ignition was off )

    • @sarrisstratos
      @sarrisstratos 4 месяца назад

      @@ajninn Given that the head unit (CC3 2K) works if everything is connected to it (without the GID connected at the same time) I suppose it's not a matter of bad connection and your suggestion (bridging that specific cable) should have made total sense! Seems though that with the provided harness I only have two options: GID but no stereo, stereo but no GID. I can see that you were also troubled a lot during your installation! Now, the other solution I can think of is Y splitting all the GID connector cables, one by one, thus creating 2 parallel connectors.. Though I've ordered a second harness and see how it goes first (fingers crossed!). Once again, thank you for your interest!

    • @ajninn
      @ajninn  4 месяца назад +1

      @@sarrisstratos Creating a full Y splitter may work, I initially went that route.While i was able to get both of them working with it , it caused interference with the.GID screen.Resulting in no climate information being displayed on it. Maybe they have updated / changed slightly the wire harness for the CC3 2k release and that cable that i mentioned is on a different pin. If I'm not wrong I belive that single cable ( is a can bus cable ) is just needed so that the canbus decoder sees the car's canbus network.The CC3 uses the CD30 connector for most of it's required connections. :/

    Thank you for a nice video, there are a lot of information for potential Teyes customers, which are Astra H owners at the same time :)))
    The question I am most curuious about: Is there an Astra’s original CD30 Settings buttons emulation? Interested in it to enter BoardComputer’s TEST MODE, which, afaik, is activated by LONG PRESS of Settings button on original CD30. So I am curuious - is there a “virtual” button of that kind?)))
    Currently I have on my Astra some audio device from early 2010s with WinCE (hope you didn’t run away in fear at this point) and it emulates 5 CD30s buttons - up, down, OK, BC, and SETTINGS. But for settings it only emulates SHORT pressure, while I also need long. This is one of the reason I wanna get rid of this WinCE relic and buy something more functional…

    • @ajninn
      @ajninn  Год назад

      Hi, thank you so much for taking the time and watching the video and commenting.Unfortunately there is no way ( at this time and to my knowledge) to control or enter the BoardComputer’s settings / secret menu / test mode via the Teyes CC3 / 360. While there is an application on the device designed to do that ( emulating the CD30 ) do to the device's poor compatibility with the car it's not functional. The only two ways I know ( again at this time ) to have the option to controll the BC are the following:
      The first is to move the BC screen to the ceiling and have the factory radio in it's original location. The second which is the more desirable is to get a device + app called " DroidOnCar " . From what I'm seeing having this device connected to your car allows you to have all the BC information and control via an android device.( don't know if that means the original BC screen can be removed entirely ) But the biggest issue with this option is that the device is only sold in Russia and is only shipped to Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan :/ I'm sorry I couldn't give you a more positive answer to your question, my recommendation would be to look into other devices if you're interested in a device with good car compatibility.

      @@ssokos Ok, correct me if I'm wrong but from what you posted I think this is what you want to do with your installation.
      #1 Keep the radio in its original place / location
      #2 Move the factory screen to the ceiling / next to the interior lights
      #3 Place the Android head unit/multimedia at the top of the dash where the factory screen used to be.
      First, you need to extend the cables for the Factory screen to reach your desired destination. Second connect a single wire from the factory screen connector to the android head unit/multimedia connector (the right side is the android head unit/multimedia, left is the factory screen connector imgur.com/a/zX4du8m ). In the other Person's video, you see that his connector has more than one cable, but in fact, he's using only one.
      Like him, the first thing I did was to copy the factory screen connector 1 to 1 ( to have all the same cables ) and connect it to the multimedia. But that caused the factory screen not to display climate information. Afterward, I disconnected all of them except the one that he shows in his video ( as said he also is only using the 1 cable, the other 6-7 cables are disconnected, he just hasn't removed them from the connector)

And at a full boot up I was getting a pop up for AC controls , but those were also non functioning. As I mentioned in the video It's my strong believe that this device was not tested on the Astra h before releasing it on the market, they probably ordered generic canbus decoders and used the same canbus code library / database that all the other android head units use and called it a day. I've seen videos of Teyes CC3 on those cars and it shows which door is open, climate info, etc. and it is amazing how well integrated it is, it makes me want to own one those cars instead. It's really a shame that they didn't put in the effort, because I prefer my Astra H than the +150Kg heavier Astra J. Hey, apologies for the late reply, sorry to hear you're having such issues with the device. Now I have no experience with the exact issue you're currently facing but here is the following things that may be good steps to take.
      #1 Reach to the seller for support ( personalty I've had poor experience with this step ) .
      #2 Try to perform a " Firmware Forced Reset " they have a video on youtube how to do it.
      #3 Check out the XDA forum - there are some people that are quite experienced and knowledgeable.
      Hope you manage to resolve your issue, wish you best of luck !

      Did you test with the same canbus settings that I show in the video at 16:55 ? If you did, my next recommendation would be to go to the Teyes app to download and update the canbus. Once you have done this go to the canbus settings screen and scroll to the top and select the first option ( null on everything) After that restart the device ( hold the power button for 10 seconds or swipe from the top and select the restart option ) And after the device reboots go back in to the canbus settings and select LZ (HZ ), GM/Chevrolet/Opel , Remove Screen. Hope this helps.

( what was the last thing that you did before the light turned on ? ) . What finally made the steering wheel buttons work for your car ? When does the airbag light turn on , when you only have the CC3 connected and the Gid disconnected ? Or does it happen when you have both the CC3 & and the Gid connected to the car ?( How do you have the CC3 installed , cc3 on top + gid screen or cc3 + radio ? ) If you have both connected to the car did you use s Y splitter cable ? If yes is the splitter cable a 1 to 1 copy of the original GID connector ?

    Hello there! You seem to be the only person I can find on youtube with a 360 Model as well as steering wheel controls so I am hoping you can PLEASE do me a huge favor by checking something for me?
    I am trying to find out what happens when you program a steering wheel button as "F Camera", "Rear Camera", and 360.
    When you press a steering button programmed for F or R Camera, does it display the Front or Rear 360 camera view? Will it display until the button is pressed again to turn the view off, or is this a timed view that eventually turns off back to previous screen?
    And the same for 360 Camera , will it display the 360 system until pressed again?
    I hope you can help answer some of this for me. Thank you so very much if you can !

    • @ajninn
      @ajninn  Год назад +1

      Hey, so here is what I managed to find out when testing it on my car.
      First of all, the most important thing to know is that the steering wheel button programming function is only for analog buttons, if yours are digital that use the can network you're not going to able to program them.
      This is the same with my car, I had to purchase additional wireless buttons that I have mounted to the back of my steering wheel.
      Programming buttons to the Camera Front & Camera Rear have no function/effect. I suspect this is if you have separate Front and Rear cameras installed instead of the 360 kit. Now when a button is programmed to the 360, a single press will launch/open the 360 camera app. You don't need to hold the button for it to remain active. A second press of the same button will return you to your previous screen, In my most often used case, I will be using Apple Car-play when I need the cameras I trigger them via the assigned button, the 360 camera app will be displayed on the screen, and when I'm done I press the button again and I'm back to Car-play. The audio is not interrupted( same for all, radio, calls, and other android apps via the head unit's android interface ) unless you have wired the rear camera to be triggered automatically when reversing + enabling the option via software. There are additional settings for triggering the 360 view from it's app. You have the following options:
      #1 360 view opens + spin / look around when the ignition is switched on
      #2 Automatically closing the 360 view if a certain speed is passed, by default is 25 km/h but you have the option to set that speed to your preference
      #3 Automatically triggering the 360 when slowing down a certain speed, again it can be adjusted to your preference
      #4 Triggering the side view cameras when using turn signals, for this, you need to wire the side cameras to your turn indicators and enable the option via software
      You have additionally 3 ways of displaying the 360 camera app:
      #1 Full screen
      #2 As a widget on the home screen
      #3 A pop-up window that can be moved around the screen
      Hope this information helps, cheers.

      @Hold_To_Crouch My Friend, you are the best ! Thank you so much for this information!!
      The project vehicle I am working on will have a Joying 12.3" Radio in a custom dashboard and set to only display the app RealDash. Essentially a digital gauge cluster. (Testing shows that it can open any app upon startup and remain on the app unless you forcibly exit.)
      Since the "gauge" screen is a android radio I would take advantage of the reverse camera inputs, and by use of a 4 way camera switcher with triggers, use it to display redundant front/reverse/side view cameras. Each camera will be a different view and location from the Teyes 360 system. (This is an American truck, so these redundant cameras will be mounted up higher than usual).
      The Teyes cc3 360 will be in center console as my infotainment screen and 360 camera system.
      I am also developing a custom steering wheel button layout which would be wired to turn on the front and rear cameras in the gauge screen and was hoping to also make the Teyes Front / Rear Cameras trigger as well. But unfortunately this function won't go as planned :(.
      Perhaps what I can do instead, is have my steering wheel Front/Rear Cam buttons display the Front/ Rear Cameras in the gauge screen, and then turn on the 360 System in the Teyes screen (one button to both screens).
      Fortunately I've created the complex wiring schematic for my original plan including resistors for each button. I can simply modify this to trigger the 360 System on the Teyes side and keep as is on the Joying side.
      Ah sorry for rambling I am now thinking out loud here!
      Thank you again so very much for this super helpful information!! It will help be immensely to plan my system ahead of time and be prepared when I can buy the Teyes radio!

      @@TheManiac777 If you're ordering the top mounted one ( as shown in the video ) then you would need to do some modifications to the wires. #1 The wire harness that comes with the top mounted CC3 connects to the BID / GID / CID display cable, preventing you from connecting both the factory screen and the CC3 at the same time. Now to both working you can make a Y splitter cable ( get the screen connector with some wire from your nearest salvage yard or from some one selling an Astra H for parts and wire it in parallel with the exciting connector in the car ) so that both can be connected at the same time. Now the Teyes doesn't really require all of the screen connector wires to run , it only need one. @k3fir The 360 camera app ( or as they've named it 360 panorama app ) is installed via the CC3 360 firmware. When I got my device and I started experiencing all of my issues I wanted to do a software update to try and resolve them. But at that time T'eyes was not offering any 360 firmware updates, and they weren't saying anything about device-specific updates. So without knowing I updated my CC3 360 with the CC3 firmware and as soon as the device booted up, it saw that I had the 360 camera app and deleted it, and I was unable to use the cameras ( even the back one as a reverse camera ). After realizing what happened I reinstalled the 360 firmware back on the device and the camera app was reinstalled and the cameras were working again. So if you're willing to test if this is true you'll need to get the cameras and try to install the CC3 360 firmware on your CC3.

    "I'm sorry for being negative" : don't be, you bought a product and the support for said product was a pain in the ass. That's not really your fault.
