Thanks for another great video Cally. You have been a great focus for my practice as your previous ‘ 7 day pinky challenge’ and this articulation one are two areas where I feel I need some focus. I did see a big improvement over the week with the pinky challenge though struggled a bit with the last phrase as the tempo increased. I’ll get there! Love from Scotland ❤️

thank you for the update! i was a little worried this video would be too "basic" for many viewers, but since i am always thinking about my fundamentals, i thought you guys might like this topic, too :-) so i am glad you found it helpful! cheers from chicago!! :-D

Do you have a video talking about doing double tonguing or you will make one?

Georgia Antza Not yet, but I can make one for sure!

This gets more fun the faster I get😃! I started at 60 (at 6 clicks per measure), and over the past week or so I've gotten up to 132. You sound like you're somewhere around 192. (I had to write in some of the notes - like B# is really C and E# is F)

Hey Cally, could you please elaborate where our tongue should be in our mouth for optimal articulation. Thank you in advance ☺️

Great question! Tip of the tongue, tip of the reed. Don’t pull it too far back, and don’t let it get low in the mouth. I try to think of having the smallest range of motion possible, so when I’m not tonguing, the tip is very close to the front of the mouth already, if that makes sense! I hope that helps! Thanks for watching; 😊 are you a student or a teacher?

Cally's Clarinet Channel I’m a student 👩🏿‍🎓and by the way, I can now play all of last week’s pinky exercises at 160bpms 🤩 Thanks once again 🙏🏾

I also want to try this Paulus & Schuler Zoom, but that's not possible in Greece..😢

Georgia Antza hopefully you can soon! I really like the Royal Global Polaris, different from other adjustable barrels because they are made from wood instead of half wood half synthetic. I am presently testing out some 2nd gen ones (improved turning mechanism) including ones with Brian Corbin’s special focus bore. They are soooo nice.

Georgia Antza so you are located in Greece! That’s cool... what do you do? Are you a teacher or student?

@@callyclarinet Student, and IMO, It's not cool that I'm in Greece, you may find this kinda strange, but believe me! You are very lucky there where you are! Greece has no future in music, most people consider music as secondary art-hobby business.. and situation for musicians(and actors e.t.c) is not great at all!

@@callyclarinet I definetely wish I was in a more advanced country! What I said before applies to music products, they don't have a lot of staff to choose from, just basic things!

I’m sorry to hear that; many people here feel the same way. I have had a number of fine students quit music because of family pressure to get a “real job” instead of pursue music. 😭
