To me this place is quintessential Australia. I am a boomer. I lived in a place like this for part of my childhood. The school bus would pick me up and drop me at the gate at night. Memories. That rocking horse would be worth a pretty penny,
For a place that’s been potentially empty for 6 years it sure is clean on the inside. I think the sheep need a talking to as the grass is a bit too long.
It's s lot of work sorting/packing/moving stuff. In most cases I feel it's an elderly couple that passes away and kin don't have the time or energy or space to deal with their possessions left behind. Lots of elderly I know are hoarders, too.
@@williebeamish5879 He did say that the house looked to be made of fibro sheeting (which is asbestos) and that's likely why they left. It looked liked a relatively young couple to me, based on the baby furniture in the garage and the child's bed inside, probably from that baby! They really didn't leave anything of much value behind. Except all of those great baskets in the kitchen!
When my parents passed, i could have locked the front door of the house and walked away, but it had to be sold unfortunately. Packing up your life and your parents posessions isnt easy, i can so understand why houses are left empty full of stuff
@@kyliemitchellharper6872 my mother passed 15 years ago, it took me 2 weeks to clear her house, that was AFTER my brothers & wives basically trashed the house looking for valuables & taking what they wanted, rented a dumpster & threw away a lot of what I would have taken & coated it in flour and her perfumed powders...(the dumpster not the house), I made the mistake of not going there one day.... THEN we found out we couldn't sell the house because she had a reverse mortgage... We even had a buyer.... If I would have known that beforehand, I would have just walked away.
Abandoned homes in England are usually choc full of furniture & possessions, rarely do you find one that has been cleared unlike Australian abandonments. That rocking horse is an absolute beauty, I sincerely hope someone rescues it..🙋🏻♀️🇬🇧
Mr Indigo, you never cease to make me smile. I remember when i got chased by a llama!1 ha ha . A lovely home, more than likely many memories of three generations enjoying that property. I hope you had a nice dinner that night. love and hugs, aunty heather!! :)m
Hi Heather glad you smiled. Chased by a Lama sounds like an ordeal haha! :-) This old home is not too far gone, maybe just maybe someone will save it. Cheers for watching
I live in Texas and i love watching your videos, it's just so sad to see so many people leave their so much stuff behind. The house looked like it was in pretty good condition on the inside. I loved the little rocking horse. Thanks for sharing these amazing old homes with us.
Another gorgeous fixer-upper, and this one wouldn't take that much to fix up. Even the exterior wouldn't take that much, a few thousand dollars, and finding that beehive, leveling the floor- I'll take it in a second. The mattress seemed really clean with no mouse holes. I love the birds. Thank you for this one!!!! SDK
I drive all over Sydney for work, and am always on the lookout for abandoned places. I mostly don't have time to stop, but will cruise past slowly to admire the decay. One thing I've become aware of is not all decayed buildings with caved in rooves, and vines growing through broken windows, are abandoned....look a bit harder and I'll notice a car in the driveway, and someone hanging clothes on a busted hills hoist which is visible through a hole in the fence clearly made by a runaway car. It cracks me up that people will let their house fall down around them and carry on with life. In a weird way I admire their devotion to the abandoned aesthetic
You didn’t turn a light on to see if he power was still on or have a look to see if there was anything in the cupboards in the kitchen. The rocking horse was amazing.
Urbex Indigo thanks my friend for sharing this video with about Abandoned- Secluded farm house full of stuff. Why did they leave? it was a really nice old house but i was nice it looks like you can still live in that home still. i am from the U.S.A and i will always watch your videos and show some support and God Bless and thanks again.
G'day Paul ... from the number of safety rails and 'grab' handles in the bathroom and toilet, it comes to mind that the last people who lived there might have been elderly and needed to go to other 'accommodation'. The rocking horse would be worth good money to buy today.
Another mystery Paul the property setting is beautiful - & the beautiful rocking horse & the old chair with the owl cushion covering 💕..the cosmetics still in the bathroom (2014 dated cream) & pots and pans still in the sink & power still connected with the pump starting up suddenly & the electrical controls making noise wow!! Not a bad place at all. Definitely needs a really good cleaning and some paint and it would be very livable again. Would hate to have to mow that big yard though. Thanks, Paul
Hello Paul great little house just a little elbow grease and someone can move in it's not that bad it looks worse on the outside than the inside stay safe take care love from upstate New York
What another good find mate loved the rocking horse im thinking probably 70s and in the first bedroom that statue on the cupboard looked like Ned Kelly one. Cool explore mate take care.
Hi Paul This is a really cool house that you found on your way home. You find the best ones when you are not particularly looking for them. That rocking house was beautiful. It could be lived in again after they clean up the place and make the necessary repairs in the back of the house outside. The bedrooms were all good sizes and I like the kitchen. I was suspicious there were people living there until I saw the refrigerator was open and the cobwebs. Another great explore Paul. Nice work. I wish we could have seen the sheep. The birds make lovely music. By the way how are your 3 kitty cats? Stay safe and well.🏚
Hi Irene, yes I was uncertain when I entered and looked at the living room that maybe I had stumbled in to someone`s home! lol :-) The kitties are all going well, and all getting along! Cheers! :-)
Hi Paul what a lovely house and to see it still in good condition not trashed. I love you knowledge and commentary of the places you explore it make for better viewing. Thanks again Paul look forward to more great finds in 2023
Soon as you were walking up, i said i like this one, slap a new roof on and mow. Though it need a bit of exterior work and too big for just me, how nice it was inside. Shame it has been abandoned, good you got to it. Lots of nice wooden furniture. Almost move in ready LOL The 2014 exp date may have been something they had for awhile, i would have checked all the bottles on the shelf, may have been a more recent date. Thanks for this great explore!
Nice place Paul. Whoever lived there looked after the place, I had a rocking horse like that until a stupid broke it. Just a clean up inside and outside all good to move in. :)
These homes are in complete isolation. Its not the lifestyle for many unfortunately. The rocking horse was quite cute though. Water pumps usually only start up when turning water on inside.
This was a nice place to fine. I loved seeing that rocking horse and some old antique furniture as well. I'm glad you just didn't pass it up. Thank you again, Paul.
Another Country property I love seeing these. This place looks like a dumping ground for old school unwanted junk. The land and home seem such a waste just sitting there, surly someone must own it. Thanks for sharing Cheers MM :)
At 5:20, I paused the video to get a good look at the rocking horse. I can't figure out how it would rock. Not a bad little house, though I prefer kitchen sinks under a window.
I would certainly be careful in the long grass as your nope ropes are much more dangerous than ours. You can keep your spiders please too. You could tell it hadn’t been empty too terribly long because I saw a mini split heat pump unit in the living room. I’m surprised there was just one in the house. Since it’s summer there I was surprised to see an electric fence going without an obvious weed eating done around the fences. It does still look really green though. Nice find.
