I can't tell you how much I appreciate you trying to pronounce Jyoti's name correctly. I always see people spending so much time trying to pronounce white people's name correctly (like Saoirse Ronan or some European composers 10 word long name) but they completely butcher black and brown names. Example is Parvati Patil from Harry Potter series or the actor Ncuti Gatwa. So seriously appreciate it.
Literally, I spent my entire life correcting my name whenever people called it and they'd still misspell or mispronounce it. It even came to a point where they misspelled my name on my school badge in high school and then I just burst into tears because it was the most frustrating thing ever. Luckily they gave me a new one for free because I was never gonna pay for it

My official govt name is in korean, since i was born there, but when i moved from korea, i had to use my russian name that is really easy(viktor) because people kept mispronouncing my korean name, which is also easy to say. Idk why people have problems pronouncing my korean name even after i corrected them. At that point, it felt like they were mocking me. Like, the koreans made efforts to pronounce my full russian name correctly, but the same cant be said to the west.
