One thing that most reviewers don't mention is that in some poeple applying vaseline petroleum jelly causes darkening (talking from personal experience and also heard about it in several videos) i used to apply vaseline PJ on hands and lips and experinced excessive darkening on that areas, I discontinued using it, the color of my hands restored but my lips are still dark and i have tried numerous scrubs but they didn't work. So i'll recommend do not Apply vaseline in daylight and in sun rather just apply it at night, but if you don't want dark lips so don't apply vaseline use a lipbalm with an SPF in it like baby lips. (Ps i used to apply vaseline cocoa butter)
These winters I have switched to Johnson's baby cream which I use for my daughter's face , I just apply it overnight, nd next morning scrub gently, this only winters my lips r not chapped anymore.

You should try carmax it's really good but kind of burnes you lip abit but still good, it made my lips really soft and not dry I have to say it is my favourite one! I got a cheryy scented one they smell nice but over time the smell starts to fade away but really good for your lips, you can get it in a tube, stick, and something like the vaseline cocoa butter container

Yes, Vaseline does cause darkening of the lips as it contains petrolium jelly. Definitely shouldn't be used specially on lips.
