@@SpinningShadowsFiberArts same here 🤣. Your way makes me wanna try again. I learned about nålbinding during a scandinaviën market with a Viking theme here in the Netherlands. The guy that sold needles made by him had some very cute baby socks/boots to show. Making the sole of the foot you have to increase at the toe. But I cannot seem to see which stitches I should use in the corners
@@cynthiamolenaar770 I'm just starting to learn how to increase in a way that I like (it creates an easily seen/decorative stitch). I'm planning on doing a video on it here soon! The general way to increase is just to go through the stitch again (though you have to pay attention when you come around again as the second stitch can hide under the first one)
Yes. I'm using the chain as the start of a round. As a crocheter, you can certainly use crochet to do a round base and then nalbind from there (I primarily knit, so a simple chain is about as complex of crochet as I get right now.), the goal is to have loops to start your nalbinding with. I hope that helps!
@@SpinningShadowsFiberArts Hi Jessica, I've managed to get up another recording of it. It looks super easy. Thanks Jessica. Hope you have a Great Day 👍 Take care and stay safe. Jen 💕
@@SpinningShadowsFiberArts In your”Beginning Nalbinding With Shadow” video, you mentioned you were going to do a separate video on increases and decreases. Your beginning video was done a couple of years ago, so I thought maybe you had done the follow-up video on increasing and decreasing.
Dank je wel… heel duidelijk allemaal en voor mij is dit zoveel gemakkelijker als ik bij andere filmpjes heb gezien. Dank je wel Shadow🥰🙋🏻♀️
Wow, I really like the way you do this. Looks so much easier.
Thank you! I hope you have fun with it!
I crochet and this looks so interesting. That beginning chain could be done with a K-10.5mm hook to insure consistency for a beginner.
That was really easy to follow! Really enjoyed this tutorial
Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Much better way of doing it❤ thanks for sharing
You're very welcome! Thank you for Watching!
Really clear to watch, thank you.
Thank you for watching!
This looks fun and fairly easy. I will try it! God bless you.
It is a lot of fun! Let me know if you need any help. :) Blessings to you as well!
That's the first time i see a crochet beginning for nalbinding.
It works for me. I tried a nalbound beginning for one hat and it looked like a caterpillar made a nest haha

I'm going to try using the shishiko knot for nalbinding 😊 it is sleek and subtle
@@juliewilborn-barth7 I bet it will be beautiful ☺️
Great tutorial!
Thank you very much!
Nicely done!!
Thanks!
That multi-colored needle is made of a product called spectraply. It's basically a plywood made of dyed layers of wood. They do make a pretty needle.
Sorry. Didn't see that someone had already commented that. Good video!
@@timl.8150 Thank you though! I appreciate the comment :)
Have you learned the Russian join? It works for non-felting yarns, and No Knot.
I have not yet. I will have to look into it! Thank you :)
It's called spectraply.
Thanks, I never can remember that. :)
Wry well done, thank you!
Thank you! I'm glad it turned out well!
@@SpinningShadowsFiberArts VERY well done is what I meant to say. LOL!

Are you going around and around the 1st chain in a circle instead of working back and forth? Im a crocheter so im a little confused

What about a flemish twist to connect the yarns?
I’m not sure what that is

I've never seen nalbinding started like this before...
I found it to be an easy way to start :)
I can’t find your video on how to increase and decrease in nalbinding.
I don’t believe I have one. I have one other Nalbinding video and I think it’s just talking about the needle I bought. 🤷♀️

@@brendam5591 ah, yes. I apologize. That video was never made and life craziness had prevented me from continuing.
The echoing sound made it hard to hear and there seem to be noises in the background too. I would like to learn though.
It was a little busy in the background while I was filming. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Nalbinding is a great craft to learn!
